< Psalms 3 >

1 A Psalm of David. When he fled from the face of his son, Absalom. Lord, why have those who trouble me been multiplied? Many rise up against me.
Faarfannaa Daawit yeroo ilma isaa Abesaaloom jalaa baqatetti faarfate. Yaa Waaqayyo, diinonni koo akkam baayʼatu! Namoonni baayʼeen natti kaʼaniiru!
2 Many say to my soul, “There is no salvation for him in his God.” (Pause)
Namoonni baayʼeen, “Waaqni isa hin baraaru” jedhanii waaʼee koo dubbatu.
3 But you, Lord, are my supporter, my glory, and the one who raises up my head.
Yaa Waaqayyo, ati garuu naannoo kootti gaachana koo ti; ulfina kootis; mataa koos kan ol qabdu suma.
4 I have cried out to the Lord with my voice, and he has heard me from his holy mountain. (Pause)
Ani guddisee Waaqayyotti nan iyyadha; innis tulluu isaa qulqulluu irraa deebii naa kenna.
5 I have slept, and I have been stupefied. But I awakened because the Lord has taken me up.
Ani nan ciisa; nan rafas; waan Waaqayyo ol na qabuuf nan dammaqa.
6 I will not fear the thousands of people surrounding me. Rise up, Lord. Save me, my God.
Saba kumaatama qixa hundaan kaʼee na marse ani hin sodaadhu.
7 For you have struck all those who oppose me without cause. You have broken the teeth of sinners.
Yaa Waaqayyo kaʼi! Yaa Waaqa koo na baraari! Mangaagaa diinota kootii hundumaa rukuti; ilkaan hamootaa illee caccabsi.
8 Salvation is of the Lord, and your blessing is upon your people. (Pause)
Fayyinni kan Waaqayyoo ti. Eebbi kee saba kee irra haa jiraatu.
