Psalms 2
1 Why have the Gentiles been seething, and why have the people been pondering nonsense?
¿Para qué están en tumulto las naciones, Y los pueblos maquinan cosas vanas?
2 The kings of the earth have stood up, and the leaders have joined together as one, against the Lord and against his Christ:
Los reyes de la tierra se levantarán, Y gobernantes conspirarán unidos Contra Yavé y contra su Ungido, y dicen:
3 “Let us shatter their chains and cast their yoke away from us.”
¡Rompamos sus ataduras Y quitemos de nosotros sus cuerdas!
4 He who dwells in heaven will ridicule them, and the Lord will mock them.
El que está sentado en los cielos se reirá. ʼAdonay se burlará de ellos.
5 Then will he speak to them in his anger and trouble them with his fury.
Luego les hablará en su furor. Los conturbará en su ira.
6 Yet I have been appointed king by him over Zion, his holy mountain, preaching his precepts.
Yo mismo consagré a mi Rey sobre Sion, Mi Montaña Santa.
7 The Lord has said to me: You are my son, this day have I begotten you.
Yo promulgaré el decreto. Yavé me dijo: Mi Hijo eres Tú, Yo te engendré hoy.
8 Ask of me and I will give to you: the Gentiles for your inheritance, and the ends of the earth for your possession.
Pídeme y te daré los pueblos en posesión, Y como herencia tuya los confines de la tierra.
9 You will rule them with an iron rod, and you will shatter them like a potter’s vessel.
Los quebrantarás con vara de hierro. Los harás añicos como vasija de alfarero.
10 And now, O kings, understand. Receive instruction, you who judge the earth.
Ahora pues, oh reyes, actúen con sabiduría. Acepten amonestación, jueces de la tierra:
11 Serve the Lord in fear, and exult in him with trembling.
Sirvan a Yavé con temor Y regocíjense con temblor.
12 Embrace discipline, lest at any time the Lord might become angry, and you would perish from the way of the just. Though his wrath can flare up in a short time, blessed are all those who trust in him.
Besen los pies al Hijo No sea que se enoje y perezcan en el camino, Pues de repente arde su ira. Inmensamente felices son los que se refugian en Él.
