< Psalms 130 >

1 A Canticle in steps. From the depths, I have cried out to you, O Lord.
A song of ascents. Out of the depths I cry to you, Yahweh.
2 O Lord, hear my voice. Let your ears be attentive to the voice of my supplication.
Lord, hear my voice; let your ears be attentive to my pleas for mercy.
3 If you, O Lord, were to heed iniquities, who, O Lord, could persevere?
If you, Yahweh, would mark iniquities, Lord, who could stand?
4 For with you, there is forgiveness, and because of your law, I persevered with you, Lord. My soul has persevered in his word.
But there is forgiveness with you, that you may be revered.
5 My soul has hoped in the Lord.
I wait for Yahweh, my soul waits, and in his word I hope.
6 From the morning watch, even until night, let Israel hope in the Lord.
My soul waits for the Lord more than watchmen wait for the morning.
7 For with the Lord there is mercy, and with him there is bountiful redemption.
Israel, hope in Yahweh. Yahweh is merciful, and he is very willing to forgive.
8 And he will redeem Israel from all his iniquities.
It is he who will redeem Israel from all his sins.
