Psalms 124

1 A Canticle in steps. If the Lord had not been with us, let Israel now say it:

若不是上主保佑我們，唯願以色列子民再說：

2 if the Lord had not been with us, when men rose up against us,

若不是上主保佑我們，當世人起來攻擊我們，

3 perhaps they would have swallowed us alive. When their fury was enraged against us,

並向我們發洩怒火時，必會活活將我們舌食。

4 perhaps the waters would have engulfed us.

就像淹沒我們的水禍，流過我們頭頸的洪波。

5 Our soul has passed through a torrent. Perhaps, our soul had even passed through intolerable water.

又像洶湧澎湃的狂浪，早已將我們淹沒滅亡。

6 Blessed is the Lord, who has not given us into the harm of their teeth.

讚美上主，他沒有將我們拋出，使我們做成他爪牙的獵物；

7 Our soul has been snatched away like a sparrow from the snare of the hunters. The snare has been broken, and we have been freed.

我們像掙脫獵人羅網的小鳥，羅網扯破了，我們自然逃掉。

8 Our help is in the name of the Lord, who made heaven and earth.

我們的救助是仰賴上主的名，上天和下地都是由他所造成。
