< Psalms 120 >

1 A Canticle in steps. When troubled, I cried out to the Lord, and he heard me.
Wer miwero ka ji dhi e hekalu. Ka an e chandruok to aluongo Jehova Nyasaye, kendo odwoka,
2 O Lord, free my soul from lips of iniquity and from the deceitful tongue.
Resa, yaye Jehova Nyasaye, kuom dho joma riambo kendo kuom lew joma wuondore.
3 What will be given to you, or what will be added to you, for a deceitful tongue?:
Bende ingʼeyo gima Nyasaye biro timoni, bende ingʼeyo gik mochomi adier, yaye lep mawuondore?
4 the sharp arrows of the powerful, along with the burning coals of desolation.
Obiro kumi gi aserni mabitho mag jakedo, ee, obiro wangʼi gi maka maliel mager, mowangʼ gi yiend adugo.
5 Woe to me, for my sojourning has been prolonged. I have lived with the inhabitants of Kedar.
Malit ochoma adier nikech adak Meshek, hapa rach nikech adak e dier hembe mag Kedar!
6 My soul has long been a sojourner.
Asedak amingʼa ahinya, e dier joma ok dwar kwe.
7 With those who hated peace, I was peaceful. When I spoke to them, they fought against me without cause.
An ngʼat kwe; to ka awuoyo, to giikore ni lweny.
