Psalms 115
1 Not to us, O Lord, not to us, but to your name give glory.
Ne nam, Gospod, ne nam; temuč imenu svojemu daj čast, zavoljo milosti svoje, zavoljo zvestobe svoje.
2 Give glory to your mercy and your truth, lest the Gentiles should say, “Where is their God?”
Zakaj bi govorili narodi: Kje je sedaj njih Bog?
3 But our God is in heaven. All things whatsoever that he has willed, he has done.
Saj Bog naš je v samih nebesih, storí, karkoli mu je po volji.
4 The idols of the nations are silver and gold, the works of the hands of men.
Maliki njih sreberni in zlati, delo rok človeških,
5 They have mouths, and do not speak; they have eyes, and do not see.
Usta imajo, pa ne govoré; oči, pa ne vidijo;
6 They have ears, and do not hear; they have noses, and do not smell.
Ušesa imajo, pa ne slišijo; nos imajo, pa ne duhajo;
7 They have hands, and do not feel; they have feet, and do not walk. Neither will they cry out with their throat.
Roke, pa ne tipajo; noge, pa ne hodijo; z grlom svojim ne črhnejo.
8 Let those who make them become like them, along with all who trust in them.
Podobni so njim, ki jih delajo, kdorkoli jim zaupa.
9 The house of Israel has hoped in the Lord. He is their helper and their protector.
Izrael, zaupaj Gospodu; pomoč je tém in ščit je tém.
10 The house of Aaron has hoped in the Lord. He is their helper and their protector.
Vi iz družine Aronove, zaupajte Gospodu, pomoč je tém in ščit je tém.
11 Those who fear the Lord have hoped in the Lord. He is their helper and their protector.
Boječi se Gospoda zaupajte Gospodu, pomoč je tém in ščit je tém.
12 The Lord has been mindful of us, and he has blessed us. He has blessed the house of Israel. He has blessed the house of Aaron.
Gospod spomnivši se nas bode blagoslavljal; blagoslavljal družino Izraelovo, blagoslavljal družino Aronovo.
13 He has blessed all who fear the Lord, the small with the great.
Blagoslavljal boječe se Gospoda, male in velike vred.
14 May the Lord add blessings upon you: upon you, and upon your sons.
Množil vas bode Gospod, vas in otroke vaše.
15 Blessed are you by the Lord, who made heaven and earth.
Blagoslovljeni bodete Gospodu, kateri je narodil nebo in zemljo.
16 The heaven of heaven is for the Lord, but the earth he has given to the sons of men.
Sama nebesa, nebesa so Gospodova; in zemlja, katero je dal sinom človeškim.
17 The dead will not praise you, Lord, and neither will all those who descend into Hell. (questioned)
Ne kateri so umrli, hvalijo Gospoda; ne katerikoli gredó dol v kraj molčanja,
18 But we who live will bless the Lord, from this time forward, and even forever.
