Psalms 115

1 Not to us, O Lord, not to us, but to your name give glory.

Not to us, YHWH, not to us, but to your name be the glory, for your loving kindness and for your faithfulness.

2 Give glory to your mercy and your truth, lest the Gentiles should say, “Where is their God?”

Why should the nations say, "Where is their God, now?"

3 But our God is in heaven. All things whatsoever that he has willed, he has done.

But our God is in the heavens. He does whatever he pleases.

4 The idols of the nations are silver and gold, the works of the hands of men.

Their idols are silver and gold, the work of men's hands.

5 They have mouths, and do not speak; they have eyes, and do not see.

6 They have ears, and do not hear; they have noses, and do not smell.

7 They have hands, and do not feel; they have feet, and do not walk. Neither will they cry out with their throat.

8 Let those who make them become like them, along with all who trust in them.

Those who make them will be like them; yes, everyone who trusts in them.

9 The house of Israel has hoped in the Lord. He is their helper and their protector.

Israel, trust in YHWH. He is their help and their shield.

10 The house of Aaron has hoped in the Lord. He is their helper and their protector.

House of Aaron, trust in YHWH. He is their help and their shield.

11 Those who fear the Lord have hoped in the Lord. He is their helper and their protector.

You who fear YHWH, trust in YHWH. He is their help and their shield.

12 The Lord has been mindful of us, and he has blessed us. He has blessed the house of Israel. He has blessed the house of Aaron.

YHWH remembers us. He will bless us. He will bless the house of Israel. He will bless the house of Aaron.

13 He has blessed all who fear the Lord, the small with the great.

He will bless those who fear YHWH, both small and great.

14 May the Lord add blessings upon you: upon you, and upon your sons.

May YHWH increase you more and more, you and your children.

15 Blessed are you by the Lord, who made heaven and earth.

Blessed are you by YHWH, who made heaven and earth.

16 The heaven of heaven is for the Lord, but the earth he has given to the sons of men.

The heavens are the heavens of YHWH; but the earth has he given to the descendants of Adam.

17 The dead will not praise you, Lord, and neither will all those who descend into Hell. (questioned)

The dead do not praise JAH, neither any who go down into silence;

18 But we who live will bless the Lord, from this time forward, and even forever.

But we will bless JAH, from this time forth and forevermore. Praise JAH.
