< Psalms 103 >
1 To David himself. Bless the Lord, O my soul, and bless his holy name, all that is within me.
A psalm of David. I give praise to Yahweh with all my life, and with all that is within me, I give praise to his holy name.
2 Bless the Lord, O my soul, and do not forget all his recompenses.
I give praise to Yahweh with all my life, and I remember all of his good deeds.
3 He forgives all your iniquities. He heals all your infirmities.
He forgives all your sins; he heals all your diseases.
4 He redeems your life from destruction. He crowns you with mercy and compassion.
He redeems your life from destruction; he crowns you with covenant faithfulness and acts of tender mercy.
5 He satisfies your desire with good things. Your youth will be renewed like that of the eagle.
He satisfies your life with good things so that your youth is renewed like the eagle.
6 The Lord accomplishes mercies, and his judgment is for all who patiently endure injuries.
Yahweh does what is fair and does acts of justice for all who are oppressed.
7 He has made his ways known to Moses, his will to the sons of Israel.
He made known his ways to Moses, his deeds to the descendants of Israel.
8 The Lord is compassionate and merciful, patient and full of mercy.
Yahweh is merciful and gracious; he is patient; he has great covenant loyalty.
9 He will not be angry forever, and he will not threaten for eternity.
He will not always discipline; he is not always angry.
10 He has not dealt with us according to our sins, and he has not repaid us according to our iniquities.
He does not deal with us as our sins deserve or repay us for what our sins demand.
11 For according to the height of the heavens above the earth, so has he reinforced his mercy toward those who fear him.
For as the skies are high above the earth, so great is his covenant faithfulness toward those who honor him.
12 As far as the east is from the west, so far has he removed our iniquities from us.
As far as the east is from the west, this is how far he has removed the guilt of our sins from us.
13 As a father is compassionate to his sons, so has the Lord been compassionate to those who fear him.
As a father has compassion on his children, so Yahweh has compassion on those who honor him.
14 For he knows our form. He has called to mind that we are dust.
For he knows how we are formed; he knows that we are dust.
15 Man: his days are like hay. Like the flower of the field, so will he flourish.
As for man, his days are like grass; he flourishes like a flower in a field.
16 For the spirit in him will pass away, and it will not remain, and he will know his place no longer.
The wind blows over it, and it disappears, and no one can even tell where it once grew.
17 But the mercy of the Lord is from eternity, and even unto eternity, upon those who fear him. And his justice is with the sons of the sons,
But the covenant faithfulness of Yahweh is from everlasting to everlasting on those who honor him. His righteousness extends to their descendants.
18 with those who serve his covenant and have been mindful of his commandments by doing them.
They keep his covenant and remember to obey his instructions.
19 The Lord has prepared his throne in heaven, and his kingdom will rule over all.
Yahweh has established his throne in the heavens, and his kingdom rules over everyone.
20 Bless the Lord, all you his Angels: powerful in virtue, doing his word, in order to heed the voice of his discourse.
Give praise to Yahweh, you his angels, you mighty ones who are strong and do his word, and obey the sound of his word.
21 Bless the Lord, all his hosts: his ministers who do his will.
Give praise to Yahweh, all his hosts, you are his servants who carry out his will.
22 Bless the Lord, all his works: in every place of his dominion. Bless the Lord, O my soul.
Give praise to Yahweh, all his creatures, in all the places where he reigns. I will give praise to Yahweh with all my life.
