< Psalms 101 >
1 A Psalm of David himself. I will sing mercy and judgment to you, O Lord. I will sing psalms.
David’s. A Melody. Of lovingkindness and of justice, will I sing! Unto thee, O Yahweh, will I touch the strings!
2 And I will have understanding within the immaculate way, when you will draw near to me. I wandered about in the innocence of my heart, in the midst of my house.
I will behave myself wisely in a blameless way, When wilt thou come in unto me? I will walk to and fro in the blamelessness of my heart, —in the midst of my house:
3 I will not display any unjust thing before my eyes. I have hated those carrying out betrayals.
I will not set before mine eyes, a vile thing, —The doing of them who fall away, I hate, It shall not cleave unto me;
4 The perverse heart did not adhere to me. And the malignant, who turned away before me, I would not recognize.
A perverse heart, shall depart from me, A maker of mischief, will I not acknowledge;
5 The one who secretly detracted his neighbor, this one I pursued. The one with an arrogant eye and an insatiable heart, with that one I would not eat.
He that uttereth slander in secret against his friend, him, will I root out; One of lofty eyes, and of an ambitious heart, him shall I not be able to endure.
6 My eyes looked toward the faithful of the earth, to sit with me. The one walking in the immaculate way, this one ministered to me.
Mine eyes, shall be upon the faithful of the land, That they may dwell with me, —he that walketh in a blameless way, he, shall attend me.
7 He who has acted arrogantly will not dwell in the midst of my house. He who has spoken iniquity was not guided with the sight of my eyes.
There shall not dwell in the midst of my house, One who worketh deceit, —he that speaketh falsehoods, shall not be established before mine eyes;
8 In the morning, I executed all the sinners of the earth, so that I might scatter all the workers of iniquity from the city of the Lord.
Morning by morning, will I uproot, All the lawless ones of the land, That I may cut off, out of the city of Yahweh—All the workers of iniquity.
