Proverbs 30
1 The words of the Gatherer, the son of the Vomiter. The vision that the man spoke. God is with him, and he, being strengthened by God and abiding with him, said:
യാക്കേയുടെ പുത്രനായ ആഗൂരിന്റെ സൂക്തങ്ങൾ—ഒരു അരുളപ്പാട്. ഈ മനുഷ്യൻ ഇഥീയേലിനോടു പ്രസ്താവിച്ചു: “ഈഥിയേലിനോടും ഉകാലിനോടുംതന്നെ.
2 “I am the most foolish among men, and the wisdom of men is not with me.
ഞാൻ ഒരു മനുഷ്യനല്ല; നിശ്ചയമായും ഒരു അപരിഷ്കൃതൻതന്നെ സാമാന്യബോധം എനിക്കില്ല.
3 I have not learned wisdom, and I have not known the knowledge of sanctity.
ഞാൻ ജ്ഞാനം അഭ്യസിച്ചിട്ടില്ല, പരിശുദ്ധനെക്കുറിച്ചുള്ള പരിജ്ഞാനം നേടിയിട്ടുമില്ല.
4 Who has ascended to heaven and also descended? Who has grasped the wind in his hands? Who has tied the waters together, as with a garment? Who has raised all the limits of the earth? What is his name, and what is the name of his son, if you know?
സ്വർഗത്തിലേക്കു കയറിപ്പോകുകയും ഇറങ്ങിവരികയും ചെയ്തിട്ടുള്ളത് ആരാണ്? കാറ്റിനെ തന്റെ മുഷ്ടിക്കുള്ളിൽ പിടിച്ചുനിർത്തുന്നത് ആരാണ്? ആഴിയെ തന്റെ പുറങ്കുപ്പായത്തിൽ പൊതിഞ്ഞെടുത്തിട്ടുള്ളത് ആരാണ്? അഖിലാണ്ഡത്തിന്റെ അതിർത്തികളെല്ലാം ഉറപ്പിച്ചത് ആരാണ്? അവിടത്തെ നാമമെന്ത്? അവിടത്തെ പുത്രന്റെ നാമമെന്ത്? പറയൂ, നിനക്കറിയുമെങ്കിൽ!
5 Every word of God is fire-tested. He is a bronze shield to those who hope in him.
“ദൈവത്തിന്റെ സകലവചനവും കുറ്റമറ്റത്; തന്നിൽ അഭയം തേടുന്നവർക്ക് അവിടന്ന് ഒരു പരിച.
6 Do not add anything to his words, lest you be reproved and be discovered to be a liar.
അവിടത്തെ വചനത്തോടു യാതൊന്നും കൂട്ടിച്ചേർക്കരുത്, അങ്ങനെയായാൽ അവിടന്ന് നിന്നെ ശാസിക്കുകയും നീ ഒരു നുണയനാണെന്നു തെളിയുകയും ചെയ്യും.
7 Two things I have asked of you; do not deny them to me before I die.
“യഹോവേ, രണ്ടു കാര്യം ഞാൻ അങ്ങയോടപേക്ഷിക്കുന്നു; എന്റെ മരണത്തിനുമുമ്പേ അവ എനിക്കു ലഭ്യമാക്കണമേ.
8 Remove, far from me, vanity and lying words. Give me neither begging, nor wealth. Apportion to me only the necessities of my life,
കാപട്യവും വ്യാജവും എന്നിൽനിന്നു ബഹുദൂരം അകറ്റണമേ; എനിക്കു ദാരിദ്ര്യമോ സമ്പത്തോ നൽകരുതേ! എന്നാൽ അനുദിനാഹാരംമാത്രം നൽകണമേ.
9 lest perhaps, being filled, I might be enticed into denial, and say: ‘Who is the Lord?’ Or, being compelled by destitution, I might steal, and then perjure myself in the name of my God.
അല്ലെങ്കിൽ, സമ്പത്തിന്റെ ആധിക്യംമൂലം ഞാൻ അങ്ങയെ തിരസ്കരിച്ച്, ‘യഹോവ ആരാണ്?’ എന്നു ചോദിക്കുകയോ അല്ല, ദാരിദ്ര്യംമൂലം മോഷണംനടത്തി, ദൈവനാമത്തിന് അപമാനം വരുത്തിവെക്കുകയോചെയ്യും.
10 Do not accuse a servant to his lord, lest he curse you, and you fall.
“തൊഴിലാളിയെക്കുറിച്ച് അവരുടെ തൊഴിലുടമയോട് പരദൂഷണം പറയരുത്, അങ്ങനെചെയ്താൽ അയാൾ നിങ്ങളെ ശപിക്കുകയും നിങ്ങൾ കുറ്റക്കാരായി പരിഗണിക്കപ്പെടുകയും ചെയ്യും.
11 There is a generation which curses their father, and which does not bless their mother.
“സ്വന്തം പിതാവിനെ ശപിക്കുകയും മാതാവിനെ ആദരിക്കാതിരിക്കുകയും ചെയ്യുന്നവരുണ്ട്.
12 There is a generation which seems pure to themselves, and yet they are not even washed from their filthiness.
സ്വന്തം വീക്ഷണത്തിൽ തങ്ങൾ നിർമലരെന്നു കരുതുന്നവരുണ്ട് അവർ തങ്ങളുടെ മാലിന്യം ശുദ്ധീകരിക്കാത്തവരാണ്;
13 There is a generation, whose eyes have been elevated, and their eyelids are lifted on high.
ആ തലമുറയുടെ കണ്ണുകൾ ഗൗരവഭാവംകാട്ടുന്നു, അവരുടെ കൺപോളകൾ ഗർവംകൊണ്ട് ഉയർന്നിരിക്കുന്നു;
14 There is a generation which has swords in place of teeth, and which commands their molars to devour the indigent from the earth and the poor from among men.
ആ തലമുറയുടെ പല്ലുകൾ വാളുകളും അണപ്പല്ലുകൾ കത്തികളുമാണ്, ഇത് ഭൂമിയിൽനിന്നു ദരിദ്രരെയും മനുഷ്യകുലത്തിൽനിന്നു സഹായാർഹരെയും വിഴുങ്ങുന്നതിനാണ്.
15 The leech has two daughters, who say, ‘Bring, bring.’ Three things are insatiable, and a fourth never says ‘Enough’:
“കണ്ണട്ടയ്ക്കു രണ്ടു പുത്രിമാരുണ്ട്. ‘തരിക! തരിക!’ അവർ കരയുന്നു. “ഒരിക്കലും തൃപ്തിവരാത്ത മൂന്നു കാര്യങ്ങളുണ്ട്, ‘മതി!’ എന്നു പറയാത്ത നാലുകാര്യങ്ങളുണ്ട്:
16 Hell, and the mouth of the womb, and a land that is not filled with water. And truly, fire never says, ‘Enough.’ (Sheol h7585)
പാതാളം, വന്ധ്യയായ ഗർഭപാത്രം, വെള്ളംകുടിച്ച് ഒരിക്കലും തൃപ്തിവരാത്ത ഭൂമി, ‘മതി!’ എന്ന് ഒരിക്കലും പറയാത്ത അഗ്നിയുംതന്നെ. (Sheol h7585)
17 The eye of one who mocks his father and who despises the childbearing of his mother, let the ravens of the torrent tear it out, and let the sons of the eagles consume it.
“പിതാവിനെ പരിഹസിക്കുകയും മാതാവിനെ അനുസരിക്കാതെ പുച്ഛിക്കുകയും ചെയ്യുന്ന കണ്ണ്, താഴ്വരയിലെ കാക്കകൾ കൊത്തിപ്പറിക്കുകയും കഴുകന്മാർ ഭക്ഷിക്കുകയും ചെയ്യും.
18 Three things are difficult for me, and about a fourth, I am nearly ignorant:
“എന്നെ അത്യധികം വിസ്മയിപ്പിക്കുന്ന മൂന്നു കാര്യങ്ങളുണ്ട്, എനിക്കു മനസ്സിലാകാത്ത നാലുകാര്യങ്ങളുണ്ട്:
19 the way of an eagle in the sky, the way of a serpent on a rock, the way of a ship in the middle of the sea, and the way of a man in adolescence.
ആകാശത്ത് കഴുകന്റെ വഴി, പാറയിൽക്കൂടെയുള്ള സർപ്പത്തിന്റെ വഴി, ആഴക്കടലിലൂടെയുള്ള കപ്പലിന്റെ സഞ്ചാരപഥം, ഒരു പുരുഷൻ ഒരു യുവതിയോട് അടുക്കുന്നവിധം എന്നിവതന്നെ.
20 Such is the way also of an adulterous woman, who eats, and wiping her mouth, says: “I have done no evil.”
“ഒരു വ്യഭിചാരിണിയുടെ വഴി ഇപ്രകാരമാണ്: അവൾ തിന്നുകയും വായ് കഴുകുകയും ചെയ്തിട്ട്, ‘ഞാൻ ഒരുതെറ്റും ചെയ്തിട്ടില്ല’ എന്നു പറയുന്നു.
21 By three things, the earth is moved, and a fourth it is not able to sustain:
“മൂന്നു കാര്യങ്ങളാൽ ഭൂമി വിറയ്ക്കുന്നു, അതിനു സഹിച്ചുകൂടാത്ത നാലുകാര്യങ്ങളുണ്ട്:
22 by a slave when he reigns, by the foolish when he has been filled with food,
സേവകരിലൊരാൾ രാജാവാകുക, സമൃദ്ധമായി ഭക്ഷണം ലഭിക്കുന്ന ഭോഷർ,
23 by a hateful woman when she has been taken in matrimony, and by a handmaid when she has been heir to her mistress.
നികൃഷ്ടയായ സ്ത്രീ വിവാഹിതയാകുന്നത്, യജമാനത്തിയെ സ്ഥാനഭ്രഷ്ടയാക്കുന്ന ദാസി എന്നിവതന്നെ.
24 Four things are least upon the earth, and they are wiser than the wise:
“ഭൂമിയിലുള്ള നാലു കാര്യങ്ങൾ ചെറുതാണ്, എന്നിട്ടും അവയ്ക്ക് അസാമാന്യ ബുദ്ധിയുണ്ട്:
25 the ants, an infirm people who provide food for themselves at the harvest,
ശക്തിയൊട്ടും ഇല്ലാത്ത ജീവികളാണ് ഉറുമ്പുകൾ, എന്നിരുന്നാലും അവ വേനൽക്കാലത്ത് തങ്ങൾക്കുള്ള ആഹാരം സംഭരിക്കുന്നു;
26 the rabbit, a sickened people who make their bed upon the rock.
അശക്തരായ ജീവികളാണ് കുഴിമുയൽ, എന്നാലും കിഴുക്കാംതൂക്കായ പാറയിൽ അവ മാളമൊരുക്കുന്നു;
27 The locust has no king, but they all depart by their troops.
വെട്ടുക്കിളികൾക്കു രാജാവില്ല, എന്നിട്ടും അവ അണിയണിയായി മുന്നേറുന്നു;
28 The lizard supports itself on hands and dwells in the buildings of kings.
ഒരു പല്ലിയെ കൈകൊണ്ടു പിടിക്കാം, എങ്കിലും അവ രാജകൊട്ടാരങ്ങളിൽ കാണപ്പെടുന്നു.
29 There are three things that advance well, and a fourth that marches happily on:
“നടപ്പിൽ പ്രൗഢിയുള്ള മൂന്നു കൂട്ടരുണ്ട്, നാലു കൂട്ടർ ഗാംഭീര്യത്തോടെ മുന്നേറുന്നു:
30 a lion, the strongest of beasts, who fears nothing that he meets,
യാതൊന്നിൽനിന്നും പിന്നാക്കംപോകാത്തവനായ വന്യമൃഗങ്ങളിൽ ശക്തനായ സിംഹം,
31 a rooster prepared at the loins, likewise a ram, and a king, whom none can resist.
അഹന്തയോടെ നടക്കുന്ന പൂങ്കോഴി, കോലാട്ടുകൊറ്റൻ, സൈന്യശക്തിയിൽ സുരക്ഷിതനായ രാജാവ് എന്നിവർതന്നെ.
32 There is one who has appeared foolish, after he was lifted up on high; for if he had understood, he would have placed his hand over his mouth.
“നിങ്ങൾ സ്വയം പുകഴ്ത്തി മടയത്തരം കാട്ടുകയോ ദുരാലോചന പദ്ധതിയിടുകയോ ചെയ്തിട്ടുണ്ടെങ്കിൽ, നിങ്ങളുടെ വായ് പൊത്തിക്കൊൾക!
33 But whoever strongly squeezes the udder to bring out the milk, presses out butter. And whoever violently blows his nose, brings out blood. And whoever provokes wrath, brings forth discord.”
പാൽ കടഞ്ഞാൽ വെണ്ണയുണ്ടാകുന്നു, മൂക്ക് പിടിച്ചുതിരിച്ചാൽ ചോരയൊഴുകുന്നു, അതുപോലെ കോപം ഇളക്കിയാൽ സംഘട്ടനം ഉണ്ടാകുന്നു.”
