< Proverbs 2 >

1 My son, if you would accept my words, and conceal my commandments within you,
Fis mwen an, si ou resevwa pawòl mwen yo, e gade kòmandman mwen yo nan kè ou,
2 so that your ears may listen to wisdom, then bend your heart in order to know prudence.
e fè zòrèy ou atantif a sajès; e enkline zòrèy ou vè bon konprann,
3 For if you would call upon wisdom and bend your heart to prudence,
wi, si ou leve vwa w pou sajès; e leve vwa ou vè bon konprann;
4 if you will seek her like money, and dig for her as if for treasure,
si ou chache li kon ajan, e fè rechèch dèyè li kon trezò ki kache;
5 then you will understand the fear of the Lord, and you will discover the knowledge of God.
nan lè sa a, ou va dekouvri lakrent SENYÈ a, e dekouvri konesans Bondye a.
6 For the Lord bestows wisdom, and out of his mouth, prudence and knowledge.
Paske, SENYÈ a bay sajès. Nan bouch Li, soti konesans ak bon konprann.
7 He will preserve the salvation of the righteous, and he will protect those who walk in simplicity:
Li mete sajès nan depo pou moun dwat la. Li se boukliye pou sila ki mache ak entegrite yo,
8 serving the paths of justice, and guarding the ways of sanctity.
Ka p veye chemen lajistis yo, e pwoteje chemen a fidèl Li yo.
9 Then you shall understand justice and judgment, and equity, and every good path.
Konsa, ou va dekouvri ladwati ak jistis, e menm egalite avèk tout bon chemen yo.
10 If wisdom is to enter into your heart, and if knowledge is to become pleasing to your soul,
Paske, sajès va antre nan kè ou, e konesans va fè ou alèz jis rive nan nanm ou.
11 then counsel must guard you, and prudence must serve you,
Bon konprann va pwoteje ou, konesans va veye sou ou,
12 so that you may be rescued from the evil way, and from the man who speaks perversities,
pou pwoteje ou kont chemen mal la, kont lòm ki pale bagay pèvès yo.
13 from those who leave the straight path to walk in dark ways,
Kont sila ki kite chemen ladwati yo pou mache nan chemen fènwa yo;
14 who rejoice when they have done evil, and who exult in the most wicked things.
ki pran plezi nan fè sa ki mal e rejwi nan mechanste mal la.
15 Their ways are perverse, and their steps are infamous.
Chemen a sila ki vin kwochi yo e ki vin gaye kò yo nan tout sa yo fè.
16 So may you be rescued from the foreign woman, and from the outsider, who softens her speech,
Pou delivre ou soti nan men fanm etranje a, soti nan men fanm adiltè ki flate ak pawòl li;
17 and who leaves behind the Guide of her youth,
ki kite konpanyen jenès li a, e ki bliye akò a Bondye li;
18 and who has forgotten the covenant of her God. For her household inclines toward death, and her paths toward Hell. (questioned)
paske lakay li mennen a lanmò e tras a pla pye li yo rive kote mò yo.
19 All those who enter to her will not return again, nor will they take hold of the paths of life.
Pèsòn ki ale kote li menm, pa retounen ankò, ni yo pa jwenn pa lavi.
20 So may you walk in the good way, and keep to the difficult paths of the just.
Akoz sa a, ou va mache nan chemen a sila ki bon yo, e swiv tras a moun ladwati yo.
21 For those who are upright shall live upon the earth, and the simple shall continue upon it.
Paske moun dwat yo va viv nan peyi a, e sila ki san tò yo va rete ladann;
22 Yet truly, the impious shall perish from the earth, and those who act unjustly shall be taken away from it.
men mechan yo va koupe retire nèt de peyi a, e moun trèt yo va dechouke de li.
