Numbers 5

1 And the Lord spoke to Moses, saying:

൧യഹോവ പിന്നെയും മോശെയോട് അരുളിച്ചെയ്തത്:

2 “Instruct the sons of Israel to cast out of the camp every leper, and those who have a flow of seed, and those who have been polluted because of the dead;

൨“സകല കുഷ്ഠരോഗികളെയും, സ്രവക്കാരെയും ശവത്താൽ അശുദ്ധരായവരെയും പാളയത്തിൽനിന്ന് പുറത്താക്കുവാൻ യിസ്രായേൽ മക്കളോട് കല്പിക്കുക.

3 cast out of the camp both male and female, lest they contaminate it while I am dwelling with you.”

൩ആണായാലും പെണ്ണായാലും അവരെ പാളയത്തിൽനിന്ന് പുറത്താക്കണം; ഞാൻ അവരുടെ മദ്ധ്യത്തിൽ വസിക്കുന്നതിനാൽ അവർ അവരുടെ പാളയം അശുദ്ധമാക്കരുത്”.

4 And the sons of Israel did so, and they cast them out, beyond the camp, just as the Lord had spoken to Moses.

൪യിസ്രായേൽ മക്കൾ അങ്ങനെ ചെയ്തു; അവരെ പാളയത്തിൽനിന്ന് പുറത്താക്കി; യഹോവ മോശെയോട് കല്പിച്ചതുപോലെ തന്നെ യിസ്രായേൽ മക്കൾ ചെയ്തു.

5 And the Lord spoke to Moses, saying:

൫യഹോവ പിന്നെയും മോശെയോട് അരുളിച്ചെയ്തത്:

6 “Say to the sons of Israel: A man or a woman, when they have done anything out of all the sins that often befall men, or if, by negligence, they have transgressed the commandment of the Lord, and so have committed an offense,

൬“നീ യിസ്രായേൽ മക്കളോട് ഇപ്രകാരം പറയുക: ഒരു പുരുഷനോ സ്ത്രീയോ യഹോവയോട് ദ്രോഹിച്ച് മനുഷ്യരുടെ ഇടയിൽ നടപ്പുള്ള വല്ല പാപവും ചെയ്തിട്ട് കുറ്റക്കാരായാൽ, ചെയ്ത പാപം

7 they shall confess their sin, and they shall restore the principle itself, plus a fifth part above it, to any against whom they have sinned.

൭അവർ ഏറ്റുപറയുകയും തങ്ങളുടെ അകൃത്യത്തിന് പ്രായശ്ചിത്തമായി മുതലും അതിന്റെ അഞ്ചിലൊന്നും കൂട്ടി, അകൃത്യം ചെയ്തവന് പകരം കൊടുക്കുകയും വേണം.

8 But if there would be no one to receive it, they shall give it to the Lord, and it shall be for the priest, except for the ram, which is offered for expiation, in order to be a pleasing victim.

൮എന്നാൽ അകൃത്യത്തിന് പ്രായശ്ചിത്തം വാങ്ങുവാൻ അവന് ചാർച്ചക്കാരൻ ഇല്ലെങ്കിൽ അകൃത്യത്തിനുള്ള പ്രായശ്ചിത്തം യഹോവയ്ക്ക് കൊടുക്കുന്നത്, പുരോഹിതന് ആയിരിക്കണം; അതുകൂടാതെ അവനുവേണ്ടി പ്രായശ്ചിത്തം കഴിക്കുവാനുള്ള പ്രായശ്ചിത്തത്തിന്റെ ആട്ടുകൊറ്റനെയും അർപ്പിക്കണം.

9 Likewise, all the first-fruits, which the sons of Israel offer, belong to the priest,

൯യിസ്രായേൽ മക്കൾ പുരോഹിതന്റെ അടുക്കൽ കൊണ്ടുവരുന്ന സകല വിശുദ്ധവസ്തുക്കളിലും മേന്മയായതൊക്കെയും അവന് ആയിരിക്കണം.

10 with whatever is offered by each one at the Sanctuary, and which is delivered into the hands of the priest; it shall be his.”

൧൦ആരെങ്കിലും ശുദ്ധീകരിച്ചർപ്പിക്കുന്ന വസ്തുക്കളും പുരോഹിതന് കൊടുക്കുന്നതെല്ലാം അവനുള്ളതായിരിക്കണം”.

11 And the Lord spoke to Moses, saying:

൧൧യഹോവ പിന്നെയും മോശെയോട് അരുളിച്ചെയ്തത്.

12 “Speak to the sons of Israel, and you shall say to them: The man whose wife will have gone astray, and, disdaining her husband,

൧൨“നീ യിസ്രായേൽ മക്കളോട് പറയേണ്ടത് എന്തെന്നാൽ: ഏതെങ്കിലും ഒരു പുരുഷന്റെ ഭാര്യ വഞ്ചിച്ച് അവനെ ദ്രോഹിച്ച്,

13 will have slept with another man, and if her husband cannot discover it, but the adultery is secret, and if it cannot be proved by witnesses, because she was not caught in the shameful act,

൧൩അവളോടുകൂടി ഒരാൾ ശയിക്കുകയും അത് അവളുടെ ഭർത്താവിന് മറവായിരിക്കുകയും അവൾ അശുദ്ധയാകുകയും അവൾക്ക് വിരോധമായി സാക്ഷിയില്ലാതിരിക്കുകയും

14 if the spirit of jealousy stirs up the husband against his wife, who either has been polluted or is being assailed with a false suspicion,

൧൪അവൾ ക്രിയയിൽ പിടിക്കപ്പെടാതിരിക്കുകയും, ജാരശങ്ക അവനെ ബാധിച്ച് അവൻ ഭാര്യയെ സംശയിക്കുകയും അവൾ അശുദ്ധയായിരിക്കുകയും ചെയ്യുകയോ, ജാരശങ്ക അവനെ ബാധിച്ച് അവൻ ഭാര്യയെ സംശയിക്കുകയും അവൾ അശുദ്ധയല്ലാതിരിക്കുകയും ചെയ്താൽ

15 he shall bring her to the priest, and he shall offer an oblation for her, a tenth part of native barley meal. He shall not pour oil over it, nor shall he place frankincense on it, because it is a sacrifice for jealousy, or an oblation investigating adultery.

൧൫ആ പുരുഷൻ ഭാര്യയെ പുരോഹിതന്റെ അടുക്കൽ കൊണ്ടുചെല്ലണം; അവൾക്കുവേണ്ടി വഴിപാടായിട്ട് ഒരിടങ്ങഴി യവപ്പൊടിയും കൊണ്ടുചെല്ലണം; അതിന്മേൽ എണ്ണ ഒഴിക്കരുത്; കുന്തുരുക്കം ഇടുകയും അരുത്; അത് സംശയത്തിന്റെ ഭോജനയാഗമല്ലോ; അപരാധസ്മാരകമായ ഭോജനയാഗം തന്നേ.

16 Therefore, the priest shall offer it, and he shall set it in the sight of the Lord.

൧൬പുരോഹിതൻ അവളെ അടുക്കൽ വരുത്തി യഹോവയുടെ സന്നിധിയിൽ നിർത്തണം.

17 And he shall take up holy water in an earthen vessel, and he shall cast a little earth from the pavement of the tabernacle into it.

൧൭പുരോഹിതൻ ഒരു മൺപാത്രത്തിൽ വിശുദ്ധജലം എടുക്കണം; പുരോഹിതൻ തിരുനിവാസത്തിന്റെ നിലത്തെ പൊടി കുറെ എടുത്ത് ആ വെള്ളത്തിൽ ഇടണം.

18 And while the woman stands before the Lord, he shall uncover her head, and he shall place over her hands the sacrifice of recollection and oblation of jealousy. But he shall take hold of the most bitter waters, in which he has gathered curses with loathing.

൧൮പുരോഹിതൻ സ്ത്രീയെ യഹോവയുടെ സന്നിധിയിൽ നിർത്തി അവളുടെ തലമുടി അഴിച്ച് അപരാധസ്മാരകത്തിന്റെ ഭോജനയാഗം അവളുടെ കയ്യിൽ വെക്കണം; പുരോഹിതന്റെ കയ്യിൽ ശാപകരമായ കയ്പുവെള്ളവും ഉണ്ടായിരിക്കണം.

19 And he shall bind her by an oath, and he shall say: ‘If another man has not slept with you, and if you have not been polluted by forsaking the bed of your husband, these most bitter waters, into which I have gathered curses, shall not harm you.

൧൯പുരോഹിതൻ അവളെക്കൊണ്ട് സത്യം ചെയ്യിച്ച് അവളോട് പറയേണ്ടത്: ‘ആരും നിന്നോടുകൂടെ ശയിക്കുകയും നിനക്ക് ഭർത്താവുണ്ടായിരിക്കെ നീ അശുദ്ധിയിലേക്ക് തിരിയുകയും ചെയ്തിട്ടില്ല എങ്കിൽ ശാപകരമായ ഈ കൈപ്പുവെള്ളത്തിന്റെ ദോഷം നിനക്ക് വരാതിരിക്കട്ടെ.

20 But if you have turned away from your husband, and also have been defiled, and have lain together with another man,

൨൦എന്നാൽ നിനക്ക് ഭർത്താവുണ്ടായിരിക്കെ നീ പിഴച്ച് അശുദ്ധയാകുകയും നിന്റെ ഭർത്താവല്ലാതെ മറ്റൊരു പുരുഷൻ നിന്നോടുകൂടെ ശയിക്കുകയും ചെയ്തിട്ടുണ്ടെങ്കിൽ’ -

21 these curses shall be thrown upon you: May the Lord turn you into a curse and an example among all his people. May he cause your thigh to rot, and may your abdomen swell up and burst out.

൨൧അപ്പോൾ പുരോഹിതൻ സ്ത്രീയെക്കൊണ്ട് ശാപസത്യം ചെയ്യിച്ച് അവളോട്: ‘യഹോവ നിന്റെ നിതംബം ക്ഷയിപ്പിക്കുകയും ഒരു കുഞ്ഞിനു ജന്മം കൊടുക്കുവാന്‍ സാധിക്കാതിരിക്കുകയും ചെയ്ത് നിന്റെ ജനത്തിന്റെ ഇടയിൽ നിന്നെ ശാപവും ആക്ഷേപവും ആക്കി തീർക്കട്ടെ.

22 May the cursed waters enter into your stomach, and may your womb swell and your thigh rot.’ And the woman shall respond: ‘Amen, amen.’

൨൨ശാപകരമായ ഈ വെള്ളം നിന്റെ കുടലിൽ ചെന്ന് നിന്റെ ഉദരം വീർപ്പിക്കുകയും നിന്റെ നിതംബം ക്ഷയിപ്പിക്കുകയും ചെയ്യും’ എന്ന് പറയേണം. അതിന് സ്ത്രീ: ‘ആമേൻ, ആമേൻ’ എന്ന് പറയണം.

23 And the priest shall write these curses in a little book, and then he shall erase them with the very bitter waters, into which he had gathered the curses,

൨൩പുരോഹിതൻ ഈ ശാപങ്ങൾ ഒരു പുസ്തകത്തിൽ എഴുതി കൈപ്പുവെള്ളത്തിൽ കഴുകി കലക്കണം.

24 and he shall give it to her to drink. And when she has emptied it,

൨൪അവൻ ശാപകരമായ കൈപ്പുവെള്ളം സ്ത്രീയെ കുടിപ്പിക്കണം; ശാപകരമായ വെള്ളം അവളുടെ ഉള്ളിൽ ചെന്ന് കൈപ്പായ്തീരും;

25 the priest shall take from her hand the sacrifice of jealousy, and he shall elevate it before the Lord, and he shall impose it upon the altar. Yet only after he first

൨൫പുരോഹിതൻ സ്ത്രീയുടെ കയ്യിൽനിന്ന് സംശയത്തിന്റെ ഭോജനയാഗം വാങ്ങി യഹോവയുടെ സന്നിധിയിൽ നീരാജനം ചെയ്ത് യാഗപീഠത്തിന്മേൽ അർപ്പിക്കണം.

26 takes a handful of the sacrifice from that which is offered, and burns it upon the altar, and then he may give the most bitter waters to the woman as a drink.

൨൬പിന്നെ പുരോഹിതൻ ഭോജനയാഗത്തിൽ ഒരു പിടി എടുത്ത് യാഗപീഠത്തിന്മേൽ നിവേദ്യമായി ദഹിപ്പിക്കണം; അതിന്‍റെശേഷം സ്ത്രീയെ ആ വെള്ളം കുടിപ്പിക്കണം.

27 And when she drinks it, if she has been defiled, and, having despised her husband, is guilty of adultery, the curse shall pass through her, and as her belly swells up, her thigh shall decay, and the woman shall become a curse and an example to all the people.

൨൭അവൾ അശുദ്ധയായി തന്റെ ഭർത്താവിനോട് ദ്രോഹം ചെയ്തിട്ടുണ്ടെങ്കിൽ അവളെ വെള്ളം കുടിപ്പിച്ച ശേഷം ശാപകരമായ വെള്ളം അവളുടെ ഉള്ളിൽ ചെന്ന് കൈപ്പായ്തീരും; അവളുടെ ഉദരം വീർക്കുകയും നിതംബം ക്ഷയിക്കുകയും സ്ത്രീ തന്റെ ജനത്തിന്റെ ഇടയിൽ ശാപഗ്രസ്തയായിരിക്കുകയും ചെയ്യും.

28 But if she has not been defiled, she shall be unharmed and she shall bear children.

൨൮എന്നാൽ സ്ത്രീ അശുദ്ധയാകാതെ നിർമ്മല ആകുന്നു എങ്കിൽ അവൾക്ക് ദോഷം വരുകയില്ല; അവൾ ഗർഭം ധരിക്കും.

29 This is the law for jealousy. If a woman has turned aside from her husband, and if she has been polluted,

൨൯ഇതാകുന്നു പാതിവ്രത്യസംശയം സംബന്ധിച്ചുള്ള പ്രമാണം;

30 and if the husband, being stirred up by the spirit of jealousy, has brought her before the sight of the Lord, and the priest has acted toward her according to all that has been written:

൩൦ഒരു സ്ത്രീ ഭർത്താവുണ്ടായിരിക്കെ പിഴച്ച് അശുദ്ധയാകുകയോ ജാരശങ്ക അവനെ ബാധിച്ച്, അവൻ ഭാര്യയെ സംശയിക്കുകയോ ചെയ്തിട്ട് അവളെ യഹോവയുടെ സന്നിധിയിൽ നിർത്തുമ്പോൾ പുരോഹിതൻ ഈ പ്രമാണമെല്ലാം അവളിൽ നടത്തണം.

31 then the husband shall be without guilt, and she shall bear her iniquity.”

൩൧എന്നാൽ പുരുഷൻ അകൃത്യത്തിൽ ഓഹരിക്കാരനാകുകയില്ല; സ്ത്രീയോ തന്റെ അകൃത്യം വഹിക്കും”.
