< Numbers 16 >

1 Then, behold, Korah the son of Izhar, the son of Kohath, the son of Levi, with Dathan and Abiram, the sons of Eliab, and also On the son of Peleth, of the sons of Ruben,
Kora ọmọ Isari, ọmọ Kohati, ọmọ Lefi àwọn ọmọ Reubeni: Datani àti Abiramu, àwọn ọmọ Eliabu, àti Oni ọmọ Peleti mú ènìyàn mọ́ra.
2 rose up against Moses, with two hundred fifty others of the sons of Israel, leading men of the assembly, and who, at the time of a council, would be called by name.
Wọ́n sì dìde sí Mose, pẹ̀lú àádọ́ta lé nígba ọkùnrin nínú àwọn ọmọ Israẹli, ìjòyè nínú ìjọ, àwọn olórúkọ nínú àjọ, àwọn ọkùnrin olókìkí.
3 And when they had stood against Moses and Aaron, they said: “Let it be sufficient for you that the entire multitude is of holy ones, and that the Lord is among them. Why do you elevate yourselves above the people of the Lord?”
Wọ́n kó ara wọn jọ láti tako Mose àti Aaroni, wọ́n sọ fún wọn pé, “Ẹ ti kọjá ààyè yín, ó tó gẹ́ẹ́! Mímọ́ ni gbogbo ènìyàn, kò sí ẹni tí kò mọ́ láàrín wọn, Olúwa sì wà pẹ̀lú wọn, nítorí kí wá ni ẹ̀yin ṣe gbé ara yín ga ju ìjọ ènìyàn Olúwa lọ?”
4 When Moses had heard this, he fell prone on his face.
Nígbà tí Mose gbọ́ èyí, ó dojúbolẹ̀,
5 And speaking to Korah, and to the entire multitude, he said: “In the morning, the Lord will cause it to be known who belongs to him, and which holy ones he will join to himself. And whomever he will choose, they shall be close to him.
Ó sì sọ fún Kora àti gbogbo ẹgbẹ́ rẹ̀ pé, “Ní ọ̀la ni Olúwa yóò fi ẹni tí í ṣe tirẹ̀ àti ẹni tó mọ́ hàn, yóò sì mú kí ẹni náà súnmọ́ òun. Ẹni tí ó bá yàn ni yóò mú kí ó súnmọ́ òun.
6 Therefore, do this: Each one of you, Korah and all your associates, take your censer,
Kí Kora àti gbogbo ẹgbẹ́ rẹ̀ ṣe èyí, ẹ mú àwo tùràrí.
7 and drawing fire into it tomorrow, place incense upon it before the Lord. And whomever he will choose, the same shall be holy. You sons of Levi have been raised up greatly.”
Kí ẹ sì fi iná àti tùràrí sínú rẹ̀ lọ́la níwájú Olúwa, yóò sì ṣe, ọkùnrin tí Olúwa bá yàn òun ni. Ẹ̀yin ọmọ Lefi, ẹ ti kọjá ààyè yín!”
8 And he said again to Korah: “Listen, sons of Levi.
Mose sì tún sọ fún Kora pé, “Ẹ gbọ́ báyìí o, ẹ̀yin ọmọ Lefi!
9 Is it a small thing to you, that the God of Israel has separated you from all the people, and has joined you to himself, so that you would serve him in the rituals of the tabernacle, and stand before gatherings of the people, and minister to him?
Kò ha tọ́ fún yín pé Ọlọ́run Israẹli ti yà yín sọ́tọ̀ lára ìjọ Israẹli yòókù, tó sì mú yín súnmọ́ ara rẹ̀ láti ṣiṣẹ́ nínú àgọ́ Olúwa àti láti dúró ṣiṣẹ́ ìsìn níwájú àwọn ènìyàn?
10 Was the reason that he caused you and all your brothers, the sons of Levi, to approach him, so that you would even claim for yourselves the priesthood too,
Ó ti mú àwọn ènìyàn yín tó jẹ́ ọmọ Lefi súnmọ́ ara rẹ̀, ṣùgbọ́n báyìí ẹ tún ń wá ọnà láti ṣiṣẹ́ àlùfáà.
11 and so that your entire group would stand against the Lord? For what is Aaron that you should murmur against him?”
Olúwa ni ìwọ àti gbogbo ẹlẹgbẹ́ rẹ takò. Ta a ni Aaroni jẹ́ tí ẹ̀yin ó fi kùn sí i?”
12 Therefore, Moses sent to call for Dathan and Abiram, the sons of Eliab, who responded: “We will not come.
Mose sì ránṣẹ́ sí Datani àti Abiramu àwọn ọmọ Eliabu. Ṣùgbọ́n wọ́n wí pé, “Àwa kò ní í wá!
13 Is it a small matter to you, that you have led us away from a land that was flowing with milk and honey, so as to kill us in the desert, unless you could also be a ruler over us?
Kò ha tó gẹ́ẹ́ pé o ti mú wa jáde láti ilẹ̀ tí ó ń sàn fún wàrà àti oyin láti pa wá sínú aginjù yìí? O tún wá fẹ́ sọ ara rẹ di olúwa lé wa lórí bí?
14 You have led us, it is true, to a land that flows with streams of milk and honey, and you have given us possession of fields and vineyards. But will you also tear out our eyes? We will not come.”
Síbẹ̀síbẹ̀ ìwọ kò sì tí ì mú wa dé ilẹ̀ tí ó ń sàn fún wàrà àti oyin, bẹ́ẹ̀ ni o kò sì pín ilẹ̀ ìní àti ọgbà àjàrà. Ìwọ ha fẹ́ sọ wá di ẹrú bí? Rárá o, àwa kì yóò gòkè wá!”
15 And Moses, being very angry, said to the Lord: “Do not look with favor on their sacrifices. You know that I have not accepted from them, at any time, so much as a young donkey, nor have I afflicted any of them.”
Nígbà náà ni Mose bínú gidigidi, ó sì sọ fún Olúwa pé, “Má ṣe gba ọrẹ wọn, èmi kò gba kẹ́tẹ́kẹ́tẹ́ lọ́wọ́ wọn, bẹ́ẹ̀ ni n kò sì pa ẹnikẹ́ni nínú wọn lára!”
16 And he said to Korah: “You and your congregation, stand alone before the Lord, and apart from Aaron, tomorrow.
Mose sọ fún Kora pé, “Ìwọ àti ọmọ lẹ́yìn rẹ gbọdọ̀ fi ara hàn níwájú Olúwa lọ́la—gbogbo yín, ìwọ, àwọn ọmọ lẹ́yìn rẹ àti Aaroni.
17 Let each one of you take censers, and place incense in them, offering to the Lord two hundred fifty censers. Let Aaron also hold his censer.”
Kí ẹnìkọ̀ọ̀kan yín mú àwo tùràrí, kí ó sì fi tùràrí sínú rẹ̀, kí gbogbo rẹ̀ jẹ́ àádọ́ta lé nígba àwo tùràrí kí ẹ sì ko wá síwájú Olúwa. Ìwọ àti Aaroni yóò mú àwo tùràrí wá pẹ̀lú.”
18 When they had done this, Moses and Aaron stood up,
Nígbà náà ni oníkálùkù wọn mú àwo tùràrí, wọ́n fi iná àti tùràrí sí i nínú, wọ́n sì dúró sí ẹnu-ọ̀nà àgọ́ ìpàdé, àwọn pẹ̀lú Mose àti Aaroni.
19 and, having crowded the entire multitude close to them at the door of the tabernacle, the glory of the Lord appeared to them all.
Nígbà tí Kora kó gbogbo àwọn ẹlẹgbẹ́ rẹ̀ jọ sí ẹnu-ọ̀nà àgọ́ ìpàdé, ògo Olúwa sì farahan gbogbo ìjọ ènìyàn.
20 And the Lord, speaking to Moses and Aaron, said:
Olúwa sì sọ fún Mose àti Aaroni pé,
21 “Separate yourselves from the midst of this congregation, so that I may suddenly destroy them.”
“Ẹ ya ara yín sọ́tọ̀ kúrò láàrín ìjọ wọ̀nyí, kí ń ba à le pa wọ́n run lẹ́ẹ̀kan náà.”
22 But they fell prone on their faces, and they said, “O most strong One, the God of the spirits of all flesh, should your anger rage against all, for the sin of one?”
Ṣùgbọ́n Mose àti Aaroni dojúbolẹ̀ wọ́n sì kígbe sókè pé, “Ọlọ́run, Ọlọ́run ẹ̀mí gbogbo ènìyàn, Ìwọ ó wa bínú sí gbogbo ìjọ ènìyàn nígbà tó jẹ́ pé ẹnìkan ló ṣẹ̀?”
23 And the Lord said to Moses:
Olúwa tún sọ fún Mose pé,
24 “Instruct the entire people to separate from the tents of Korah, and Dathan, and Abiram.”
“Sọ fún ìjọ ènìyàn pé, ‘Kí wọ́n jìnnà sí àgọ́ Kora, Datani àti Abiramu.’”
25 And Moses rose up and went to Dathan and Abiram. And the elders of Israel followed him,
Mose sì dìde lọ bá Datani àti Abiramu àwọn àgbàgbà Israẹli sì tẹ̀lé.
26 and he said to the crowd, “Withdraw from the tabernacles of these impious men, and touch nothing which pertains to them, lest you become involved in their sins.”
Ó sì kìlọ̀ fún ìjọ ènìyàn pé, “Ẹ kúrò ní àgọ́ àwọn ènìyàn búburú yìí! Ẹ má ṣe fọwọ́ kan ohun kan tí í ṣe tiwọn kí ẹ má ba à parun nítorí ẹ̀ṣẹ̀ wọn.”
27 And when they had withdrawn from their tents all around, Dathan and Abiram came out and stood at the entrance of their pavilions, with their wives and children, and with all their associates.
Àwọn ènìyàn sì sún kúrò ní àgọ́ Kora, Datani àti Abiramu. Datani àti Abiramu jáde, àwọn ìyàwó wọn àti àwọn ọmọ wọn sì dúró sí ẹnu-ọ̀nà àgọ́ wọn.
28 And Moses said: “By this shall you know that the Lord has sent me to do all that you discern, and that I have not brought these things out of my own heart:
Nígbà náà ni Mose wí pé, “Báyìí ni ẹ ó ṣe mọ̀ pé Olúwa ló rán mi láti ṣe gbogbo iṣẹ́ wọ̀nyí àti pé kì í ṣe ìfẹ́ inú mi ni àwọn ohun tí mò ń ṣe.
29 If these men pass away by the common death of men, or if they will be visited by a scourge, of a kind by which others are often visited, then the Lord did not send me.
Bí àwọn ènìyàn yìí bá kú bí gbogbo ènìyàn ti ń kú, bí ìrírí wọn kò bá sì yàtọ̀ sí ti àwọn ènìyàn yòókù, a jẹ́ pé kì í ṣe Olúwa ló rán mi.
30 But if the Lord accomplishes something new, so that the earth opens its mouth and swallows them whole, along with everything that belongs to them, and they descend alive into the underworld, then you shall know that they have blasphemed the Lord.” (Sheol h7585)
Ṣùgbọ́n bí Olúwa bá ṣe ohun tuntun, tí ilẹ̀ sì la ẹnu, tó gbé wọn mì, àwọn pẹ̀lú gbogbo ohun tí wọ́n ní, tí wọ́n sì wọ inú ibojì wọn lọ láààyè, nígbà náà ni ẹ̀yin ó mọ̀ pé àwọn ènìyàn yìí ti kẹ́gàn Olúwa.” (Sheol h7585)
31 Therefore, as soon as he had ceased to speak, the earth broke open under their feet.
Bí ó sì ṣe parí ọ̀rọ̀ wọ̀nyí, ilẹ̀ pín sí méjì nísàlẹ̀ wọn,
32 And opening its mouth, it devoured them with their tabernacles and their entire substance.
ilẹ̀ sì lanu ó sì gbé wọn mì pẹ̀lú gbogbo ará ilé wọn àti àwọn ènìyàn Kora àti gbogbo ohun tí wọ́n ní.
33 And they descended alive, the ground closing around them, into the underworld, and they perished from the midst of the multitude. (Sheol h7585)
Gbogbo wọn sì sọ̀kalẹ̀ sínú ibojì wọn láààyè pẹ̀lú ohun gbogbo tí wọ́n ní, ilẹ̀ sì padé mọ́ wọn, wọ́n sì ṣègbé kúrò láàrín ìjọ ènìyàn. (Sheol h7585)
34 Yet truly, all of Israel, which was standing all around, took flight at the clamor of those who were perishing, saying, “Lest perhaps the earth may swallow us whole also.”
Gbogbo ènìyàn Israẹli tí ó yí wọn ká sì sálọ tí àwọn yòókù gbọ́ igbe wọn, wọ́n wí pé, “Ilẹ̀ yóò gbé àwa náà mì pẹ̀lú.”
35 Then, too, a fire, going forth from the Lord, put to death the two hundred fifty men who were offering the incense.
Iná sì jáde láti ọ̀dọ̀ Olúwa ó sì run àádọ́ta lé nígba ọkùnrin tí wọ́n mú tùràrí wá.
36 And the Lord spoke to Moses, saying:
Olúwa sọ fún Mose pé,
37 “Instruct Eleazar, the son of Aaron the priest, to take up the censers which lie in the burning, and to scatter the fire to one side and another, because they were sanctified
“Sọ fún Eleasari ọmọ Aaroni tí í ṣe àlùfáà, pé kí ó mú àwọn àwo tùràrí jáde kúrò nínú iná nítorí pé wọ́n jẹ́ mímọ́, kí ó sì tan iná náà káàkiri sí ibi tó jìnnà.
38 in the deaths of these sinners. And let him form them into plates, and affix them to the altar, because incense had been offered in them to the Lord, and they were sanctified, and so that the sons of Israel may discern in them a sign and a memorial.”
Èyí ni àwo tùràrí àwọn tí ó kú nítorí ẹ̀ṣẹ̀ wọn. Kí ẹ gún àwo tùràrí yìí, kí ẹ sì fi ṣe ìbòrí fún pẹpẹ, wọ́n jẹ́ mímọ́ nítorí pé wọ́n ti mú wọn wá síwájú Olúwa. Kí wọ́n jẹ́ àmì fún àwọn ọmọ Israẹli.”
39 Therefore, Eleazar the priest took the bronze censers, by which those whom the burning devoured had made an offering, and he formed them into plates, affixing them to the altar,
Eleasari tí í ṣe àlùfáà sì kó gbogbo àwo tùràrí tí àwọn tí ó jóná mú wa, ó gún wọn pọ̀, ó fi ṣe ìbòrí fún pẹpẹ,
40 so that the sons of Israel would have, thereafter, something to admonish them, lest any stranger, or anyone who is not of the offspring of Aaron, might approach to offer incense to the Lord, and lest he endure what happened to Korah, and to all his congregation, when the Lord spoke to Moses.
gẹ́gẹ́ bí Olúwa ṣe sọ láti ẹnu Mose. Èyí yóò jẹ́ ohun ìrántí fún àwọn ọmọ Israẹli pé, àlejò yàtọ̀ sí irú-ọmọ Aaroni kò gbọdọ̀ jó tùràrí níwájú Olúwa, ẹni tí ó bá ṣe bẹ́ẹ̀, yóò dàbí Kora àti àwọn ẹgbẹ́ rẹ̀.
41 Then, the following day, the entire multitude of the sons of Israel murmured against Moses and Aaron, saying: “You have put to death the people of the Lord.”
Ní ọjọ́ kejì gbogbo ìjọ àwọn ọmọ Israẹli kùn sí Mose àti Aaroni pé, “Ẹ ti pa àwọn ènìyàn Olúwa.”
42 And when there arose a sedition, and the tumult increased,
Ṣùgbọ́n nígbà tí gbogbo ìjọ ènìyàn péjọ lòdì sí Mose àti Aaroni, níwájú àgọ́ ìpàdé, lójijì ni ìkùùkuu bolẹ̀, ògo Olúwa sì fi ara hàn.
43 Moses and Aaron fled to the tabernacle of the covenant. But after they had entered it, the cloud covered it, and the glory of the Lord appeared.
Nígbà náà ni Mose àti Aaroni lọ síwájú àgọ́ ìpàdé,
44 And the Lord said to Moses:
Olúwa sì sọ fún Mose pé,
45 “Withdraw from the midst of this multitude, and I will destroy them immediately.” And while they were lying on the ground,
“Yàgò kúrò láàrín ìjọ ènìyàn yìí, kí ń ba le run wọ́n ní ìṣẹ́jú kan.” Wọ́n sì dojúbolẹ̀.
46 Moses said to Aaron: “Take the censer, and draw fire into it from the altar; place incense upon it, and continue on, quickly, to the people, to pray for them. For already wrath has gone forth from the Lord, and the scourge rages.”
Mose sì sọ fún Aaroni pé, “Mú àwo tùràrí, kí o fi iná sí i lórí pẹpẹ, fi tùràrí sínú rẹ̀, kí o sì tètè mu lọ sí àárín ìjọ ènìyàn láti ṣe ètùtù fún wọn nítorí pé ìbínú Olúwa ti jáde, àjàkálẹ̀-ààrùn sì ti bẹ̀rẹ̀.”
47 When Aaron had done this, and he had run into the midst of the multitude, which the burning fire was now destroying, he offered the incense.
Aaroni ṣe bí Mose ti wí, ó sáré lọ sí àárín àwọn ènìyàn, ṣùgbọ́n àjàkálẹ̀-ààrùn ti bẹ̀rẹ̀ láàrín wọn, ṣùgbọ́n Aaroni fín tùràrí, ó sì ṣe ètùtù fún wọn.
48 And standing between the dead and the living, he prayed for the people, and the scourge ceased.
Ó dúró láàrín àwọn alààyè àti òkú, àjàkálẹ̀-ààrùn náà sì dúró.
49 But the number of those who were struck down was fourteen thousand men, and seven hundred, aside from those who had perished in the sedition of Korah.
Ṣùgbọ́n àjàkálẹ̀-ààrùn ti pa ẹgbàá méje ó lé lẹ̀ẹ́dẹ́gbẹ̀rin ènìyàn ní àfikún sí àwọn tí ó kú níbi ìṣẹ̀lẹ̀ Kora.
50 And Aaron returned to Moses at the door of the tabernacle of the covenant, after the destruction quieted.
Aaroni padà tọ Mose lọ ní ẹnu-ọ̀nà àgọ́ ìpàdé nítorí pé àjàkálẹ̀-ààrùn náà ti dúró.
