Numbers 12
1 And Miriam and Aaron spoke against Moses, because of his wife, an Ethiopian,
Mi-ri-am và A-rôn nói hành Môi-se về việc người nữ Ê-thi-ô-bi mà người đã lấy; vì người có lấy một người nữ Ê-thi-ô-bi làm vợ.
2 and they said: “Has the Lord spoken only through Moses? Has he not also spoken similarly to us?” And when the Lord had heard this,
Hai người nói rằng: Ðức Giê-hô-va chỉ dùng một mình Môi-se mà thôi sao? Ngài há không dùng chúng ta mà phán nữa sao? Ðức Giê-hô-va nghe điều đó.
3 (for Moses was a man exceedingly meek, beyond all the men who were living upon the earth)
Vả, Môi-se là người rất khiêm hòa hơn mọi người trên thế gian.
4 immediately he spoke to him, and to Aaron and Miriam, “Go out, you three only, to the tabernacle of the covenant.” And when they had gone out,
Thình lình Ðức Giê-hô-va phán cùng Môi-se, A-rôn và Mi-ri-am rằng: Cả ba hãy ra đến hội mạc. Cả ba đều đi.
5 the Lord descended in a column of cloud, and he stood at the entrance of the tabernacle, calling to Aaron and Miriam. And when they had advanced,
Ðức Giê-hô-va ngự xuống trong trụ mây đứng tại cửa hội mạc, rồi gọi A-rôn và Môi-se; hai người đều đến.
6 he said to them: “Listen to my words. If there will be among you a prophet of the Lord, I will appear to him in a vision, or I will speak to him through a dream.
Ngài phán cùng hai người rằng: Hãy nghe rõ lời ta. Nếu trong các ngươi có một tiên tri nào, ta là Ðức Giê-hô-va sẽ hiện ra cùng người trong sự hiện thấy, và nói với người trong cơn chiêm bao.
7 But it is not so with my servant Moses, who is the most faithful in all my house.
Tôi tớ Môi-se ta không có như vậy, người thật trung tín trong cả nhà ta.
8 For I speak with him mouth to mouth, and plainly. And not through enigmas and figures does he perceive the Lord. Therefore, why were you not afraid to disparage my servant Moses?”
Ta nói chuyện cùng người miệng đối miệng, một cách rõ ràng, không lời đố, và người thấy hình Ðức Giê-hô-va. Vậy, các ngươi không sợ mà nói hành kẻ tôi tớ ta, là Môi-se sao?
9 And being angry against them, he went away.
Như vậy, cơn thạnh nộ của Ðức Giê-hô-va nổi phừng phừng cùng hai người; Ngài ngự đi.
10 Likewise, the cloud which was over the tabernacle withdrew. And behold, Miriam appeared to be white with a leprosy, like snow. And when Aaron had looked upon her, and he had seen the spreading of the leprosy,
Khi trụ mây rút khỏi trên đền tạm, thì kìa, Mi-ri-am đã bị phung trắng như tuyết. A-rôn xây lại phía Mi-ri-am, thấy người đã có bịnh phung.
11 he said to Moses: “I beg you, my lord, not to impose upon us this sin, which we have committed foolishly.
A-rôn bèn nói cùng Môi-se rằng: Ôi, lạy chúa tôi, xin chớ để trên chúng tôi tội mà chúng tôi đã dại phạm và đã mắc lấy.
12 Do not let this one be like one who is dead, or like an abortion that has been cast from the womb of her mother. Behold, half of her flesh is already consumed by leprosy.”
Xin chớ để nàng như một đứa con sảo thịt đã hư hết phân nửa khi lọt ra khỏi lòng mẹ.
13 And Moses cried out to the Lord, saying, “O God, I beg you: heal her.”
Môi-se bèn kêu van cùng Ðức Giê-hô-va rằng: Ôi, Ðức Chúa Trời! Tôi cầu khẩn Ngài chữa cho nàng.
14 And the Lord answered him: “If her father had spit on her face, should she not have been filled with shame for at least seven days? Let her be separated, outside the camp, for seven days, and after that, she will be called back.”
Ðức Giê-hô-va đáp cùng Môi-se rằng: Nếu cha nàng nhổ trên mặt nàng, nàng há không mang hổ trong bảy ngày sao? Nàng phải cầm riêng ngoài trại quân trong bảy ngày, rồi sau sẽ được nhận vào lại.
15 And so Miriam was excluded from the camp for seven days. And the people did not move from that place, until Miriam was called back.
Ấy vậy, Mi-ri-am bị cầm riêng ngoài trại quân trong bảy ngày, dân sự không ra đi cho đến chừng nào Mi-ri-am được nhận vào lại.
16 And the people set out from Hazeroth, and they pitched their tents in the desert of Paran.
Sau việc đó, dân sự ra đi từ Hát-sê-rốt, và hạ trại trong đồng vắng Pha-ran.
