< Matthew 23 >

1 Then Jesus spoke to the crowds, and to his disciples,
IESUS ap kotin kaparok ong pokon o sapwilim a tounpadak kan,
2 saying: “The scribes and the Pharisees have sat down in the chair of Moses.
Masani; Saunkawewe o Parisär akan kin mondi nan deun Moses.
3 Therefore, all things whatsoever that they shall say to you, observe and do. Yet truly, do not choose to act according to their works. For they say, but they do not do.
Ari, karos me re indang komail, i me komail en wia o kapwaiada, a der ale sang ar wiawia kan; pwe irail kin indada, ap sota kapwaiada.
4 For they bind up heavy and unbearable burdens, and they impose them on men’s shoulders. But they are not willing to move them with even a finger of their own.
Re kin pira pena kapwa en wisik me toutou melel, ap kidang pon apar en aramas, a irail sota men sairki sondin pa arail.
5 Truly, they do all their works so that they may be seen by men. For they enlarge their phylacteries and glorify their hems.
O re kin kapwaiada ar wiawia kan karos, pwe aramas en ududial. Pwe irail kin kadälape ar kisin likau en kataman o kalaudela ni kailan ar likau.
6 And they love the first places at feasts, and the first chairs in the synagogues,
Irail kin ngongki mondi ni tapin tepel ni kamadip o, o leppandam nan sinakoke kan.
7 and greetings in the marketplace, and to be called Master by men.
O re kin mauki, aramas en ranamau ong irail nan deun net, o aramas en wia kin ir Rapi, Rapi,
8 But you must not be called Master. For One is your Master, and you are all brothers.
A komail der ngongki, aramas en wia kin komail Rapi, pwe me ta men omail Saunpadak, a komail pirien pena.
9 And do not choose to call anyone on earth your father. For One is your Father, who is in heaven.
O komail der kaadaneki meamen sam nan sappa, pwe amen Sam omail, me kotikot nanlang.
10 Neither should you be called teachers. For One is your Teacher, the Christ.
O komail der ngongki, aramas en wia kin komail saumas, pwe me ta men omail Saumas: Kristus.
11 Whoever is greater among you shall be your minister.
A me lapalap re omail, en omail papa.
12 But whoever has exalted himself, shall be humbled. And whoever has humbled himself, shall be exalted.
Pwe me pan kasapwilada pein i, pan sapwilidi, a me pan kasapwilidi pein i, pan kasapwilada.
13 So then: Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, you hypocrites! For you close the kingdom of heaven before men. For you yourselves do not enter, and those who are entering, you would not permit to enter.
Suedi ong komail saunkawewe o Parisär akan, malaun komail! Komail kin ritingidi wein nanlang mon aramas akan, pwe komail sota pan pedelong, a me men pedelong, komail sota kin mueid ong.
14 Woe to you scribes and Pharisees, you hypocrites! For you consume the houses of widows, praying long prayers. Because of this, you shall receive the greater judgment.
Suedi ong komail saunkawewe o Parisär akan, malaun komail! Komail me ngopur sang im en li odi kan ap liliasos kapakap reirei. Omail kalokolok pan laud melel.
15 Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, you hypocrites! For you travel around by sea and by land, in order to make one convert. And when he has been converted, you make him twice the son of Hell that you are yourselves. (Geenna g1067)
Suedi ong komail saunkawewe o Parisär akan, malaun komail! Komail kin pidipidaki sed o sap, pwen wiada proselit amen, a lao wialar, komail ap pan wia kin i toun pweleko amen, me sued sang komail. (Geenna g1067)
16 Woe to you, blind guides, who say: ‘Whoever will have sworn by the temple, it is nothing. But whoever will have sworn by the gold of the temple is obligated.’
Suedi ong komail saunkalua maskun, komail me kin inda: Meamen kin kaukila im en kaudok, dene sota katepa, a me kin kaukila kold en im en kaudok, i me pung.
17 You are foolish and blind! For which is greater: the gold, or the temple that sanctifies the gold?
Komail pweipwei o maskun, pwe da me kasampwal ren kold de im en kaudok o, me kin kasarauiala kold?
18 And you say: ‘Whoever will have sworn by the altar, it is nothing. But whoever will have sworn by the gift that is on the altar is obligated.’
O meamen kin kaukila pei saraui, dene sota katepa, a me kaukila mairong, me mi poa dene i me pung,
19 How blind you are! For which is greater: the gift, or the altar that sanctifies the gift?
Komail pweipwei o maskun, pwe da me kasampwal ren mairong de pei saraui, me kin kasarauiala mairong?
20 Therefore, whoever swears by the altar, swears by it, and by all that is on it.
Ari, meamen kaukila pei saraui, kin kaukila i o meakan, me mi poa.
21 And whoever will have sworn by the temple, swears by it, and by him who dwells in it.
O meamen kaukila im en kaudok, king kaukila i iangaki i me kotikot lole.
22 And whoever swears by heaven, swears by the throne of God, and by him who sits upon it.
O me kaukila nanlang, kin kaukila mol en Kot o me kin kaipokedi ong poa.
23 Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, you hypocrites! For you collect tithes on mint and dill and cumin, but you have abandoned the weightier things of the law: judgment and mercy and faith. These you ought to have done, while not omitting the others.
Suedi ong komail saunkawewe o Parisär akan, malaun komail! Komail kin mairongki eisokkis eu en minse, o til, o kimel, ap sota insenoki kusoned en kapung kasampwal akan: Pung, o kadek, o poson. Komail wiada mepukat, ap pil kapwaiada me tei kan!
24 You blind guides, straining out a gnat, while swallowing a camel!
Saunkalua maskun komail, me kin isenoki kisin am en wel, ap katalala kamel!
25 Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, you hypocrites! For you clean what is outside the cup and the dish, but on the inside you are full of avarice and impurity.
Suedi ong komail saunkawewe o Parisär akan, malaun komail! Pwe komail kin kamakelekel kasak o dal liki, a lol me dir en me re kuliada o me sued.
26 You blind Pharisee! First clean the inside of the cup and the dish, and then what is outside becomes clean.
Parisär maskun koe, kamakelekele mas lol en kasak o dal akan, pwe pali liki en pil makelekeleda!
27 Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, you hypocrites! For you are like whitewashed sepulchers, which outwardly appear brilliant to men, yet truly, inside, they are filled with the bones of the dead and with all filth.
Suedi ong komail saunkawewe o Parisär akan, malaun komail! Komail rasong sousou kan, me sementen, me kin sansal kaselel, a lole me dir en ti en me melar akan o song en saut karos.
28 So also, you certainly appear to men outwardly to be just. But inwardly you are filled with hypocrisy and iniquity.
I duen komail, me sansal pung mon aramas, a lole komail me dir en malaun o sapung.
29 Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, you hypocrites, who build the sepulchers of the prophets and adorn the monuments of the just.
Suedi ong komail saunkawewe o Parisär akan, malaun komail! Pwe komail kin apapwali sousou en saukop akan o kapwataki sousou en me pung kan.
30 And then you say, ‘If we had been there in the days of our fathers, we would not have joined with them in the blood of the prophets.’
Ap inda: Ma kit mia ni muein sam atail akan, kit sota pan iang irail kamela saukop akan.
31 And so you are witnesses against yourselves, that you are the sons of those who killed the prophets.
Ari, pein komail kin kadede, me komail nain me kamelar saukop akan.
32 Complete, then, the measure of your fathers.
A komail kaunsokala wiawia en sam omail akan!
33 You serpents, you brood of vipers! How will you escape from the judgment of Hell? (Geenna g1067)
Komail serpent o wan oter akan! Pala komail pan piti sang kadeik en nan pweleko? (Geenna g1067)
34 For this reason, behold, I send to you prophets and wise men, and scribes. And some of these you will put to death and crucify; and some you will scourge in your synagogues and persecute from city to city,
Kilang, i me I kadara dong komail saukop akai, o me lolekong kai, o saunkawewe kai; a akai irail, me komail pan kamela, o kalopuela, o akai komail pan kaloke nan omail sinakoke kan, o komail pan paki irail sang nan eu kanim ong nan eu.
35 so that upon you may fall all the blood of the just, which has been shed upon the earth, from the blood of Abel the just, even to the blood of Zechariah the son of Barachiah, whom you killed between the temple and the altar.
Pwen kapokon ong komail nta makelekel karos, me kapwilipwilidier nan sappa sang ntan Apel pung kokodo lel ntan Sakarias, nain Parakias, me komail kamelar nan pung en im en kaudok o pei saraui.
36 Amen I say to you, all these things shall fall upon this generation.
Melel I indai ong komail, mepukat pan pwai ong di wet.
37 Jerusalem, Jerusalem! You kill the prophets and stone those who have been sent to you. How often I have wanted to gather your children together, in the way that a hen gathers her young under her wings. But you were not willing!
O Ierusalem, Ierusalem, me kin kamela saukop akan o kate me pakadara dong uk kan; pan pak toto, me I pan kapokon pena noumail akan, duen litok kin kompwal pena na purok kan pan pa a, a komail kang.
38 Behold, your house shall be abandoned to you, having been deserted.
Kilang, im omail pan tanla.
39 For I say to you, you shall not see me again, until you say: ‘Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord.’”
Pwe I indai ong komail, komail solar pan kilang ia sang ni ansau wet, lao komail pan inda: Meid iasanai, me kotido ni mar en Kaun o!
