Malachi 2
1 And now, O priests, this command is to you.
Agora pois, ó sacerdotes, este mandamento é para vós.
2 If you will refuse to listen, and if you will refuse to take it to heart, so as to give glory to my name, says the Lord of hosts, I will send destitution upon you, and I will curse your blessings; yes, I will curse them. For you have not taken it to heart.
Se não [o] ouvirdes, e se não guardardes no coração de dar glória a meu nome, diz o SENHOR dos exércitos, enviarei maldição sobre vós, e amaldiçoarei vossas bênçãos. Aliás, eu já as tenho amaldiçoado, porque não tendes guardado [isso] no vosso coração.
3 Behold, I will cast forth an arm to you, and I will scatter across your face the dung of your solemnities, and it will take you to itself.
Eis que eu repreenderei a vossa descendência, e espalharei lixo sobre os vossos rostos, o lixo de vossas festas, e com ele sereis removidos.
4 And you will know that I sent you this commandment, so that my covenant might be with Levi, says the Lord of hosts.
Então sabereis que eu vos enviei este mandamento, para que meu pacto seja com Levi, diz o SENHOR dos exércitos.
5 My covenant was with him for life and peace. And I gave him fear, and he feared me, and he was afraid before the face of my name.
Meu pacto foi com ele de vida e de paz, as quais eu lhe dei para haver temor; e ele me temeu, e teve medo diante de meu nome.
6 The law of truth was in his mouth, and iniquity was not found on his lips. He walked with me in peace and integrity, and he turned away many from iniquity.
A lei de verdade estava em sua boca, e não se achou injustiça em seus lábios; ele andava comigo em paz e em justiça, e converteu a muitos da maldade.
7 For the lips of the priests will keep knowledge, and they will request the law from his mouth, because he is an angel of the Lord of hosts.
Porque os lábios do sacerdote devem guardar o conhecimento, e de sua boca devem buscar a lei; porque ele é mensageiro do SENHOR dos exércitos.
8 But you have withdrawn from the way, and you have scandalized very many in the law. You have nullified the covenant of Levi, says the Lord of hosts.
Mas vós vos desviastes do caminho; fizestes tropeçar a muitos na lei; corrompestes o pacto de Levi, diz o SENHOR dos exércitos.
9 Because of this, I also have made you contemptible and debased to all the people, just as you have not served my ways, and you have accepted a face in the law.
Por isso eu também vos tornei desprezíveis e indignos diante de todo o povo, visto que não guardais meus caminhos, e na lei fazeis acepção de pessoas.
10 Is there not one Father of us all? Did not one God create us? Why, then, does each one of us despise his brother, violating the covenant of our fathers?
Não temos todos um [mesmo] Pai? Não foi um [mesmo] Deus que nos criou? Por que, [então], traímos cada um a seu irmão, profanando o pacto de nossos pais?
11 Judah has transgressed, and abomination has been committed in Israel and in Jerusalem. For Judah has contaminated the sanctified of the Lord, which he loved, and has held the daughter of a strange god.
Judá tem agido com traição, e abominação se comete em Israel e em Jerusalém; porque Judá profana o santuário do SENHOR, o qual ele ama, e se casou com filha de deus estranho.
12 The Lord will drive away the man who has done this, both the teacher and the disciple, from the tabernacles of Jacob and from those offering a gift to the Lord of hosts.
O SENHOR removerá das tendas de Jacó ao homem que fizer isto, ao que vela, e ao que responde, e ao que traz oferta ao SENHOR dos exércitos.
13 And you have done this repeatedly: you have covered the altar of the Lord with tears, with weeping and bellowing, to such an extent that I no longer have respect towards the sacrifice, nor do I accept any appeasement that is from your hands.
Também fazeis esta segunda coisa: cobris o altar do SENHOR de lágrimas, de pranto, e de gemidos; por isso ele não dará mais atenção à oferta, nem a aceitará com prazer de vossa mão.
14 And you have said, “What is the reason for this?” It is because the Lord has been a witness between you and the wife of your youth, whom you have despised. Yet she was your partner, and the wife of your covenant.
Vós dizeis: Por que razão? Porque o SENHOR foi testemunha entre ti e a mulher de tua juventude, contra a qual tu tens traído, sendo ela a tua companheira, e a mulher de teu pacto.
15 Did not One make her, and is she not the remainder of his spirit? And what does one seek, except offspring of God? So then, preserve your spirit, and do not despise the wife of your youth.
E não fez ele somente um ainda que lhe sobre o espírito? E por que um? Para buscar uma descendência de Deus. Guardai-vos pois em vosso espírito, e ninguém de vós seja infiel à mulher de vossa juventude.
16 If you would hold hatred, dismiss her, says the Lord, the God of Israel. But iniquity will cover his garment, says the Lord of hosts. Preserve your spirit, and do not be willing to despise.
Porque o SENHOR Deus de Israel diz que ele odeia o divórcio, e [quem] cobre a sua roupa de violência, diz o SENHOR dos exércitos. Guardai-vos pois em vosso espírito, e não sejais infiéis.
17 You have wearied the Lord with your speeches, and you have said, “In what way, have we wearied him?” In that you say, “Everyone who does evil is good in the sight of the Lord, and such as these please him,” or certainly, “Where is the God of judgment?”
Cansais ao SENHOR com vossas palavras. E ainda dizeis: Em que nós [o] cansamos? Quando dizeis: Qualquer um que faz o mal é bom aos olhos ao SENHOR, que se agrada deles; ou: Onde está o Deus do juízo?
