< Malachi 2 >

1 And now, O priests, this command is to you.
Vaihiah Aw qaimanawk, hae kaalok loe nangcae han ih ni.
2 If you will refuse to listen, and if you will refuse to take it to heart, so as to give glory to my name, says the Lord of hosts, I will send destitution upon you, and I will curse your blessings; yes, I will curse them. For you have not taken it to heart.
Na tahngai o ai moe, ka hmin pakoehhaih palungthin na tawn o ai nahaeloe, nangcae nuiah sethaih ka phaksak moe, nangcae tahamhoihaih to kasae ah kang coengsak han: palung thungah na suem o ai pongah, ue, kasae kang tongh o sak boeh, tiah misatuh kaminawk ih Angraeng mah thuih.
3 Behold, I will cast forth an arm to you, and I will scatter across your face the dung of your solemnities, and it will take you to itself.
Khenah, na caanawk to ka thuitaek han; poihsakhaih moi ih aek to nangcae mikhmai ah ka haeh han; minawk mah nangcae to moi ih aek hoi nawnto na la o ving tih.
4 And you will know that I sent you this commandment, so that my covenant might be with Levi, says the Lord of hosts.
Levi hoi ka sak ih lokmaihaih caksak poe hanah, hae kaalok hae nangcae khaeah kang patoeh, tito na panoek o tih, tiah misatuh kaminawk ih Angraeng mah thuih.
5 My covenant was with him for life and peace. And I gave him fear, and he feared me, and he was afraid before the face of my name.
Anih hoi lokmaihaih ka sak baktih toengah, anih khaeah hinghaih hoi monghaih to oh; anih mah kai zit thai hanah, lokmaihaih anih khaeah ka paek, to naah anih mah kai to zit moe, ka hmin saiqathaih a paek.
6 The law of truth was in his mouth, and iniquity was not found on his lips. He walked with me in peace and integrity, and he turned away many from iniquity.
Anih loe loktang lok to thuih, anih ih pahni hoiah amsoem ai lok tidoeh thui ai; anih loe kai hoi nawnto kamongah oh moe, katoeng ah khosak, anih mah pop parai kaminawk to zaehaih thung hoiah angqoisak.
7 For the lips of the priests will keep knowledge, and they will request the law from his mouth, because he is an angel of the Lord of hosts.
Qaima ih pahni mah loe palunghahaih lok to thuih han angaih, kaminawk loe anih ih pakha hoiah palunghahaih lok to pakrong o han oh: anih loe misatuh kaminawk ih Angraeng, anih ih tamthang sinkung ah oh.
8 But you have withdrawn from the way, and you have scandalized very many in the law. You have nullified the covenant of Levi, says the Lord of hosts.
Toe nangcae loe loklam nam khraeng o ving moe, patukhaih kaalok pongah kami pop parai nam timh o sak boeh; Levi hoi sak ih lokmaihaih to na phraek o, tiah misatuh kaminawk ih angraeng mah thuih.
9 Because of this, I also have made you contemptible and debased to all the people, just as you have not served my ways, and you have accepted a face in the law.
To pongah kai ih loklam to na pazui o ai moe, patuk ih lok baktih na ai ah, kami ih mikhmai na khet o pongah, kai mah doeh panuet thok ah kang ohsak moe, kami boih hma ah azat thok ah kang sak o han, tiah thuih.
10 Is there not one Father of us all? Did not one God create us? Why, then, does each one of us despise his brother, violating the covenant of our fathers?
Aicae loe ampa maeto khue na ai maw a tawnh o? Sithaw maeto mah na ai maw aicae hae sak? Tipongah aicae mah ampanawk ih lokmaihaih to amhnong o sak moe, nawkamya maeto hoi maeto aling o loe?
11 Judah has transgressed, and abomination has been committed in Israel and in Jerusalem. For Judah has contaminated the sanctified of the Lord, which he loved, and has held the daughter of a strange god.
Judah kaminawk loe oep om o ai boeh moe, Israel kaminawk mah doeh panuet thok hmuen to sak o boeh; Angraeng mah palung ih hmuenciim to Judah mah amhnongsak boeh: acaeng kalah sithaw canu to anih mah zu ah lak boeh.
12 The Lord will drive away the man who has done this, both the teacher and the disciple, from the tabernacles of Jacob and from those offering a gift to the Lord of hosts.
To tiah sak han patuk kami hoi amtuk kami loe, misatuh kaminawk ih Angraeng khaeah hmuenpaek han sin cadoeh, Angraeng mah anih to Jakob ih imthung hoi takhoe ving tih.
13 And you have done this repeatedly: you have covered the altar of the Lord with tears, with weeping and bellowing, to such an extent that I no longer have respect towards the sacrifice, nor do I accept any appeasement that is from your hands.
To pacoengah na sak o let ih hmuen loe hae tiah oh; na paek o ih hmuen to Angraeng mah tiah doeh sah ai boeh moe, oephaih hoiah talawk pae ai boeh pongah, nangcae mah Angraeng ih hmaicam to na qah o haih moe, mikkhraetui hoiah na suih o sak.
14 And you have said, “What is the reason for this?” It is because the Lord has been a witness between you and the wife of your youth, whom you have despised. Yet she was your partner, and the wife of your covenant.
15 Did not One make her, and is she not the remainder of his spirit? And what does one seek, except offspring of God? So then, preserve your spirit, and do not despise the wife of your youth.
Anih mah nang hnik to maeto ah oh han ih na ai maw a sak? Toe na muithla loe anih khaeah oh. Tipongah maeto ah ohsak loe? Sithaw panoek kaminawk ih caa pungsak han ih ni to tiah a sak. To pongah na poekhaih palungthin to angsum ah, saning na nawk nathuem ah na lak ih zu to tapraek hmah.
16 If you would hold hatred, dismiss her, says the Lord, the God of Israel. But iniquity will cover his garment, says the Lord of hosts. Preserve your spirit, and do not be willing to despise.
Israel Angraeng mah, Zu pakhrah kami to ka hnukma; sethaih kahni baktiah khuk kami doeh ka hnukma, tiah misatuh kaminawk ih Angraeng mah thuih. To pongah na poekhaih palungthin to angsum ah, oep kaom ai ah khosah hmah.
17 You have wearied the Lord with your speeches, and you have said, “In what way, have we wearied him?” In that you say, “Everyone who does evil is good in the sight of the Lord, and such as these please him,” or certainly, “Where is the God of judgment?”
