Luke 9
1 Then calling together the twelve Apostles, he gave them power and authority over all demons and to cure diseases.
௧அவர் தம்முடைய பன்னிரண்டு சீடர்களையும் வரவழைத்து, எல்லாப் பிசாசுகளைத் துரத்தவும், வியாதியுள்ளவர்களைக் குணமாக்கவும், அவர்களுக்கு வல்லமையும் அதிகாரமும் கொடுத்து,
2 And he sent them to preach the kingdom of God and to heal the infirm.
௨தேவனுடைய ராஜ்யத்தைக்குறித்துப் பிரசங்கிக்கவும், நோயாளிகளை குணமாக்கவும் அவர்களை அனுப்பினார்.
3 And he said to them: “You should take nothing for the journey, neither staff, nor traveling bag, nor bread, nor money; and you should not have two tunics.
௩அப்பொழுது அவர் அவர்களை நோக்கி: பயணத்தின்போது தடியையோ பையையோ அப்பத்தையோ பணத்தையோ எடுத்துக்கொண்டு போகவேண்டாம்; இரண்டு உடைகளைக் கொண்டுபோகவும் வேண்டாம் என்றார்.
4 And into whatever house you shall enter, lodge there, and do not move away from there.
௪எந்த வீட்டிற்கு சென்றாலும், அங்கிருந்து புறப்படும்வரை அங்கே தங்கியிருங்கள்.
5 And whoever will not have received you, upon departing from that city, shake off even the dust on your feet, as a testimony against them.”
௫உங்களை ஏற்றுக்கொள்ளாதவர்களுடைய ஊரைவிட்டு நீங்கள் புறப்படும்போது, அவர்கள் உங்களை ஏற்றுக்கொள்ளாததற்கு சாட்சியாக உங்களுடைய கால்களில் படிந்துள்ள தூசியை உதறிப்போடுங்கள் என்றார்.
6 And going forth, they traveled around, through the towns, evangelizing and curing everywhere.
௬புறப்பட்டுப்போய், கிராமம் கிராமமாகச் சென்று நற்செய்தியைப் பிரசங்கித்து, நோயாளிகளைக் குணமாக்கினார்கள்.
7 Now Herod the tetrarch heard about all the things that were being done by him, but he doubted, because it was said
௭அப்பொழுது காற்பங்கு தேசாதிபதியாகிய ஏரோது அவரால் செய்யப்பட்ட எல்லாவற்றையும் கேள்விப்பட்டதுமட்டுமல்லாமல்; சிலர் யோவான் மரித்தோரிலிருந்து உயிரோடு எழுந்தான் என்றும்,
8 by some, “For John has risen from the dead,” yet truly, by others, “For Elijah has appeared,” and by still others, “For one of the prophets from of old has risen again.”
௮சிலர் எலியா தோன்றினான் என்றும், வேறுசிலர் பூர்வகாலத்துத் தீர்க்கதரிசிகளில் ஒருவன் உயிர்த்தெழுந்தான் என்றும் சொல்லிக்கொண்டபடியால், கலக்கமடைந்து:
9 And Herod said: “I beheaded John. So then, who is this, about whom I hear such things?” And he sought to see him.
௯யோவானை நான் சிரச்சேதம்பண்ணினேன், இவன் இப்படிப்பட்டவைகளைச் செய்கிறான் என்று கேள்விப்படுகிறேனே! இவன் யார்? என்று ஏரோது சொல்லி, அவரைப் பார்க்க விரும்பினான்.
10 And when the Apostles returned, they explained to him all the things that they had done. And taking them with him, he withdrew to a deserted place apart, which belongs to Bethsaida.
௧0அப்போஸ்தலர்கள் திரும்பிவந்து, தாங்கள் செய்த எல்லாவற்றையும் அவருக்கு விளக்கிச் சொன்னார்கள். அப்பொழுது அவர் அவர்களைக் கூட்டிக்கொண்டு, தனிமையாக இருக்கும்படி பெத்சாயிதா என்னும் பட்டணத்தின் வனாந்திரமான ஒரு இடத்திற்குப் போனார்.
11 But when the crowd had realized this, they followed him. And he received them and spoke to them about the kingdom of God. And those who were in need of cures, he healed.
௧௧மக்கள் அதை அறிந்து, அவர் பின்னால் போனார்கள்; அவர்களை அவர் ஏற்றுக்கொண்டு, தேவனுடைய இராஜ்யத்தைக்குறித்து அவர்களோடு பேசி, சுகமடையவேண்டும் என்றிருந்தவர்களைச் சுகப்படுத்தினார்.
12 Then the day began to decline. And drawing near, the twelve said to him: “Dismiss the crowds, so that, by going into the surrounding towns and villages, they may separate and find food. For we are here in a deserted place.”
௧௨மாலைநேரத்தில், பன்னிரண்டுபேரும், அவரை நோக்கி: நாம் இருக்கிற இடம் வனாந்திரமாக இருப்பதினால், மக்கள், சுற்றியிருக்கிற ஊர்களிலும் கிராமங்களிலும்போய்த் தங்குவதற்கும், உணவுப்பொருள்களை வாங்கிக்கொள்வதற்கும் அவர்களை அனுப்பிவிடவேண்டும் என்றார்கள்.
13 But he said to them, “You give them something to eat.” And they said, “There is with us no more than five loaves and two fish, unless perhaps we are to go and buy food for this entire multitude.”
௧௩இயேசு, அவர்களை நோக்கி: நீங்களே அவர்களுக்கு உணவைக் கொடுங்கள் என்றார். அதற்கு அவர்கள்: எங்களிடம் ஐந்து அப்பங்களும் இரண்டு மீன்கள்மட்டுமே இருக்கிறது, இந்த மக்கள் எல்லோருக்கும் உணவு கொடுக்கவேண்டுமானால், நாங்கள்போய் வாங்கிக்கொண்டு வரவேண்டும் என்றார்கள்.
14 Now there were about five thousand men. So he said to his disciples, “Have them recline to eat in groups of fifty.”
௧௪அங்கு ஏறக்குறைய ஐயாயிரம் ஆண்கள் இருந்தார்கள். அவர்களைப் பந்திக்கு ஐம்பது ஐம்பதுபேராக உட்காரும்படிச் சொல்லுங்கள் என்று தம்முடைய சீடர்களுக்குச் சொன்னார்.
15 And they did so. And they caused them all to recline to eat.
௧௫அவர்கள் அப்படியே எல்லோரையும் உட்காரும்படிச் செய்தார்கள்.
16 Then, taking the five loaves and the two fish, he gazed up to heaven, and he blessed and broke and distributed them to his disciples, in order to set them before the crowd.
௧௬அப்பொழுது அவர் அந்த ஐந்து அப்பங்களையும் அந்த இரண்டு மீன்களையும் எடுத்து, வானத்தை அண்ணாந்துபார்த்து, அவைகளை ஆசீர்வதித்து, பிட்டு, மக்களுக்கு பகிர்ந்துகொடுக்கும்படி சீடர்களிடத்தில் கொடுத்தார்.
17 And they all ate and were satisfied. And twelve baskets of fragments were taken up, which were left over from them.
௧௭எல்லோரும் சாப்பிட்டுத் திருப்தியடைந்தார்கள். மீதியான உணவுப்பொருட்கள் பன்னிரண்டு கூடைகள்நிறைய எடுக்கப்பட்டது.
18 And it happened that, when he was praying alone, his disciples also were with him, and he questioned them, saying: “Who do the multitudes say that I am?”
௧௮பின்பு அவர் தமது சீடர்களோடு தனித்து ஜெபம்பண்ணிக்கொண்டிருக்கும்போது, அவர்களை நோக்கி: மக்கள் என்னை யார் என்று சொல்லுகிறார்கள் என்று கேட்டார்.
19 But they answered by saying: “John the Baptist. But some say Elijah. Yet truly, others say that one of the prophets from before has risen again.”
௧௯அதற்கு அவர்கள்: சிலர் உம்மை யோவான்ஸ்நானன் என்றும், சிலர் எலியா என்றும், வேறுசிலர் பூர்வகாலத்துத் தீர்க்கதரிசிகளில் ஒருவர் உயிர்த்தெழுந்துள்ளார் என்றும் சொல்லுகிறார்கள் என்றார்கள்.
20 Then he said to them, “But who do you say that I am?” In response, Simon Peter said, “The Christ of God.”
௨0அப்பொழுது அவர்: நீங்கள் என்னை யார் என்று சொல்லுகிறீர்கள் என்று கேட்டார்; பேதுரு மறுமொழியாக: நீர் தேவனுடைய கிறிஸ்து என்றான்.
21 But speaking sharply to them, he instructed them not to tell this to anyone,
௨௧அப்பொழுது அவர், நீங்கள் இதை ஒருவருக்கும் சொல்லவேண்டாம் என்று உறுதியாகக் கட்டளையிட்டார்.
22 saying, “For the Son of man must suffer many things, and be rejected by the elders and the leaders of the priests and the scribes, and be killed, and on the third day rise again.”
௨௨மேலும் மனிதகுமாரன் பல பாடுகள் படவும், மூப்பர்களாலும் பிரதான ஆசாரியர்களாலும் வேதபண்டிதர்களாலும் ஆகாதவன் என்று தள்ளப்படவும், கொல்லப்படவும், மூன்றாம்நாளில் உயிரோடு எழுந்திருக்கவும் வேண்டும் என்று சொன்னார்.
23 Then he said to everyone: “If anyone is willing to come after me: let him deny himself, and take up his cross every day, and follow me.
௨௩பின்பு அவர் எல்லோரையும் நோக்கி: ஒருவன் என்னைப் பின்பற்றிவரவிரும்பினால் அவன் தன்னைத்தானே வெறுத்து, தன் சிலுவையை அநுதினமும் எடுத்துக்கொண்டு, என்னைப் பின்பற்றவேண்டும்.
24 For whoever will have saved his life, will lose it. Yet whoever will have lost his life for my sake, will save it.
௨௪தன் ஜீவனை இரட்சிக்க விரும்புகிறவன் அதை இழந்துபோவான்; எனக்காகத் தன் ஜீவனை இழந்துபோகிறவன் அதை இரட்சித்துக்கொள்ளுவான்.
25 For how does it benefit a man, if he were to gain the whole world, yet lose himself, or cause himself harm?
௨௫மனிதன் உலகம் முழுவதையும் ஆதாயப்படுத்திக்கொண்டாலும், தன்னைத்தானே கெடுத்து நஷ்டப்படுத்திக்கொண்டால் அவனுக்கு லாபம் என்ன?
26 For whoever will be ashamed of me and of my words: of him the Son of man will be ashamed, when he will have arrived in his majesty and that of his Father and of the holy Angels.
௨௬என்னைக்குறித்தும் என் வார்த்தைகளைக்குறித்தும் எவன் வெட்கப்படுகிறானோ, அவனைக்குறித்து மனிதகுமாரனும் தம்முடைய மகிமையோடும் பிதாவின் மகிமையோடும் பரிசுத்த தூதர்களின் மகிமையோடும் வரும்போது வெட்கப்படுவார்.
27 And yet, I tell you a truth: There are some standing here who shall not taste death, until they see the kingdom of God.”
௨௭இங்கே நிற்கிறவர்களில் சிலர் தேவனுடைய ராஜ்யத்தைக் காணும் முன்னே, மரணத்தை ருசிபார்ப்பதில்லை என்று நிச்சயமாகவே உங்களுக்குச் சொல்லுகிறேன் என்றார்.
28 And it happened that, about eight days after these words, he took Peter and James and John, and he ascended onto a mountain, so that he might pray.
௨௮இந்த வார்த்தைகளை அவர் சொல்லி ஏறக்குறைய எட்டு நாட்களுக்குப்பின்பு, அவர் பேதுருவையும் யோவானையும் யாக்கோபையும் கூட்டிக்கொண்டு, ஜெபம்பண்ணுகிறதற்கு ஒரு மலையின்மேல் ஏறினார்.
29 And while he was praying, the appearance of his countenance was altered, and his vestment became white and shining.
௨௯அவர் ஜெபம்பண்ணும்போது அவருடைய முகத்தின் ரூபம் மாறியது, அவருடைய ஆடை வெண்மையாகப் பிரகாசித்தது.
30 And behold, two men were talking with him. And these were Moses and Elijah, appearing in majesty.
௩0அன்றியும் மோசே எலியா ஆகிய இரண்டுபேரும் மகிமையோடு காணப்பட்டு, அவரோடு பேசிக்கொண்டிருந்தார்கள்,
31 And they spoke of his departure, which he would accomplish at Jerusalem.
௩௧அவர்கள் எருசலேமில் நிறைவேற்றப்போகிற அவருடைய மரணத்தைக்குறித்துப் பேசிக்கொண்டிருந்தார்கள்.
32 Yet truly, Peter and those who were with him were weighed down by sleep. And becoming alert, they saw his majesty and the two men who were standing with him.
௩௨பேதுருவும் அவனோடிருந்தவர்களும் தூக்கமயக்கமாக இருந்தார்கள். ஆனாலும் அவர்கள் விழித்து அவருடைய மகிமையையும் அவரோடு நின்ற அவ்விரண்டு பேரையும் கண்டார்கள்.
33 And it happened that, as these were departing from him, Peter said to Jesus: “Teacher, it is good for us to be here. And so, let us make three tabernacles: one for you, and one for Moses, and one for Elijah.” For he did not know what he was saying.
௩௩அவ்விருவரும் அவரைவிட்டுப் பிரிந்து போகும்போது, பேதுரு இயேசுவை நோக்கி: ஐயரே, நாம் இங்கே இருக்கிறது நல்லது, உமக்கு ஒரு கூடாரமும், மோசேக்கு ஒரு கூடாரமும், எலியாவிற்கு ஒரு கூடாரமுமாக, மூன்று கூடாரங்களைப் போடுவோம் என்று, தான் சொல்லுகிறது என்னவென்று தெரியாமல் சொன்னான்.
34 Then, as he was saying these things, a cloud came and overshadowed them. And as these were entering into the cloud, they were afraid.
௩௪இப்படி அவன் பேசும்போது, ஒரு மேகம் வந்து அவர்களை மூடினது; எனவே அவருடைய சீடர்கள் பயந்தார்கள்.
35 And a voice came from the cloud, saying: “This is my beloved Son. Listen to him.”
௩௫அப்பொழுது: இவர் நான் தெரிந்துகொண்ட என்னுடைய நேசகுமாரன், இவருக்குச் செவிகொடுங்கள் என்று மேகத்திலிருந்து ஒரு சத்தம் உண்டானது.
36 And while the voice was being uttered, Jesus was found to be alone. And they were silent and told no one, in those days, any of these things, which they had seen.
௩௬அந்தச் சத்தம் உண்டானபோது இயேசு ஒருவரே காணப்பட்டார். தாங்கள் கண்டவைகளில் ஒன்றையும் அவர்கள் ஒருவருக்கும் சொல்லாமல் இருந்தார்கள்.
37 But it happened on the following day that, as they were descending from the mountain, a great crowd met him.
௩௭மறுநாளில் அவர்கள் மலையிலிருந்து இறங்கினபோது, மக்கள்கூட்டம் அவரை சந்திக்க அவரிடம் வந்தார்கள்.
38 And behold, a man from the crowd cried out, saying, “Teacher, I beg you, look kindly on my son, for he is my only son.
௩௮அவர்களில் ஒருவன் சத்தமிட்டு: போதகரே, என் மகனுக்கு உதவி செய்யவேண்டுமென்று உம்மை வேண்டிக்கொள்ளுகிறேன், அவன் எனக்கு ஒரே பிள்ளையாக இருக்கிறான்.
39 And behold, a spirit takes hold of him, and he suddenly cries out, and it throws him down and convulses him, so that he foams. And though it tears him apart, it leaves him only with difficulty.
௩௯சில நேரங்களில், ஒரு அசுத்தஆவி அவனை அலைக்கழிப்பதினால், அவன் அலறி வாயில் நுரைதள்ளுகிறான். அது அவனைக் காயப்படுத்தி, அதிக போராட்டத்திற்குப்பின்பு அவனைவிட்டு நீங்குகிறது.
40 And I asked your disciples to cast him out, and they were unable.”
௪0அதைத் துரத்திவிடும்படி உம்முடைய சீடர்களை வேண்டிக்கொண்டேன், அவர்களால் முடியவில்லை என்றான்.
41 And in response, Jesus said: “O unfaithful and perverse generation! How long will I be with you and endure you? Bring your son here.”
௪௧இயேசு மறுமொழியாக: விசுவாசமில்லாத மாறுபாடான வம்சமே, எதுவரைக்கும் நான் உங்களோடிருந்து, உங்களிடம் பொறுமையாக இருப்பேன்? உன் மகனை இங்கே கொண்டுவா என்றார்.
42 And as he was approaching him, the demon threw him down and convulsed him.
௪௨அவன் அருகில் வரும்போது, பிசாசு அவனைக் கீழேத் தள்ளி, அலைக்கழித்தது. இயேசு அந்த அசுத்தஆவியை அதட்டி, இளைஞனைக் குணமாக்கி, அவன் தகப்பனிடத்தில் அவனை ஒப்புக்கொடுத்தார்.
43 And Jesus rebuked the unclean spirit, and he healed the boy, and he restored him to his father.
௪௩அப்பொழுது எல்லோரும் தேவனுடைய மகத்துவத்தைக்குறித்து ஆச்சரியப்பட்டார்கள். இயேசு செய்த எல்லாவற்றையும்குறித்து அனைவரும் ஆச்சரியப்படும்போது அவர் தம்முடைய சீடர்களை நோக்கி:
44 And all were astonished at the greatness of God. And as everyone was wondering over all that he was doing, he said to his disciples: “You must set these words in your hearts. For it shall be that the Son of man will be delivered into the hands of men.”
௪௪நீங்கள் இந்த வார்த்தைகளைக் கவனமாகக் கேளுங்கள்; மனிதகுமாரன் மனிதர்கள் கைகளில் ஒப்புக்கொடுக்கப்படப்போகிறார் என்றார்.
45 But they did not understand this word, and it was concealed from them, so that they did not perceive it. And they were afraid to question him about this word.
௪௫அவர்கள் அந்த வார்த்தையின் கருத்தை புரிந்துகொள்ளவில்லை; அது அவர்களுக்கு மறைபொருளாக இருந்தது; அந்த வார்த்தையைக்குறித்து அவரிடத்தில் விசாரிக்கவும் அவர்கள் பயந்தார்கள்.
46 Now an idea entered into them, as to which of them was greater.
௪௬பின்பு தங்களுக்குள் யார் பெரியவனாக இருப்பான் என்கிற வாக்குவாதம் அவர்களுக்குள் உண்டானது.
47 But Jesus, perceiving the thoughts of their hearts, took a child and stood him beside him.
௪௭இயேசு அவர்கள் இருதயத்தின் யோசனையை அறிந்து, ஒரு சிறுபிள்ளையை எடுத்து, அதைத் தம் அருகில் நிறுத்தி,
48 And he said to them: “Whoever will receive this child in my name, receives me; and whoever receives me, receives him who sent me. For whoever is the lesser among you all, the same is greater.”
௪௮அவர்களை நோக்கி: இந்தச் சிறுபிள்ளையை என் நாமத்தினாலே ஏற்றுக்கொள்ளுகிறவன் என்னை ஏற்றுக்கொள்ளுகிறான்; என்னை ஏற்றுக்கொள்ளுகிறவன் என்னை அனுப்பினவரை ஏற்றுக்கொள்ளுகிறான்; உங்கள் எல்லோருக்குள்ளும் எவன் சிறியவனாக இருக்கிறானோ அவனே பெரியவனாக இருப்பான் என்றார்.
49 And responding, John said: “Teacher, we saw a certain one casting out demons in your name. And we prohibited him, for he does not follow with us.”
௪௯அப்பொழுது யோவான் அவரை நோக்கி: ஐயரே, ஒருவன் உம்முடைய நாமத்தினாலே பிசாசுகளைத் துரத்துகிறதை நாங்கள் கண்டு, அவன் எங்களோடுகூட உம்மைப் பின்பற்றாததினால், அவனைத் தடுத்தோம் என்றான்.
50 And Jesus said to him: “Do not prohibit him. For whoever is not against you, is for you.”
௫0அதற்கு இயேசு: தடுக்கவேண்டாம்; நமக்கு விரோதியாக இல்லாதவன் நமது பட்சத்தில் இருக்கிறான் என்றார்.
51 Now it happened that, while the days of his dissipation were being completed, he steadfastly set his face to go to Jerusalem.
௫௧பின்பு, அவர் பரலோகத்திற்கு எடுத்துக்கொள்ளப்படும் நாட்கள் நெருங்கி வந்தபோது, அவர் எருசலேமுக்குப் போகப்பார்த்து,
52 And he sent messengers before his face. And going on, they entered into a city of the Samaritans, to prepare for him.
௫௨தமக்கு முன்னாகத் தூதுவர்களை அனுப்பினார். அவர்கள்போய், அவருக்கு இடத்தை ஆயத்தம்பண்ணும்படி சமாரியருடைய ஒரு கிராமத்திலே பிரவேசித்தார்கள்.
53 And they would not receive him, because his face was going toward Jerusalem.
௫௩அவர் எருசலேமுக்குப்போக விரும்பினபடியால் அந்த கிராமத்து மக்கள் அவரை ஏற்றுக்கொள்ளவில்லை.
54 And when his disciples, James and John, had seen this, they said, “Lord, do you want us to call for fire to descend from heaven and consume them?”
௫௪அவருடைய சீடர்களாகிய யாக்கோபும் யோவானும் அதைக் கண்டபோது: ஆண்டவரே, எலியா செய்ததுபோல, வானத்திலிருந்து அக்கினி இறங்கி இவர்களை அழிக்கும்படி நாங்கள் கட்டளையிட உமக்கு விருப்பமா? என்று கேட்டார்கள்.
55 And turning, he rebuked them, saying: “Do you not know of whose spirit you are?
௫௫அவர் திரும்பிப்பார்த்து: அவர்களைக் கடிந்துகொண்டு,
56 The Son of man came, not to destroy lives, but to save them.” And they went into another town.
௫௬மனிதகுமாரன் மனிதர்களுடைய ஜீவனை அழிப்பதற்காக அல்ல, இரட்சிப்பதற்காகவே வந்தார் என்றார். அதன்பின்பு அவர்கள் வேறொரு கிராமத்திற்குப் போனார்கள்.
57 And it happened that, as they were walking along the way, someone said to him, “I will follow you, wherever you will go.”
௫௭அவர்கள் வழியிலே போகும்போது ஒருவன் அவரை நோக்கி: ஆண்டவரே, நீர் எங்கே போனாலும் நான் உம்மைப் பின்பற்றி வருவேன் என்றான்.
58 Jesus said to him: “Foxes have dens, and the birds of the air have nests. But the Son of man has nowhere to lay his head.”
௫௮அதற்கு இயேசு: நரிகளுக்குக் குழிகளும் ஆகாயத்துப் பறவைகளுக்குக் கூடுகளும் உண்டு, மனிதகுமாரனுக்கோ தலை சாய்க்கவும் இடமில்லை என்றார்.
59 Then he said to another, “Follow me.” But he said, “Lord, permit me first to go and bury my father.”
௫௯வேறொருவனை அவர் நோக்கி: என்னைப் பின்பற்றிவா என்றார். அதற்கு அவன்: ஆண்டவரே, முதலில் நான் போய் என் தகப்பனை அடக்கம்பண்ண என்னை அனுப்பவேண்டும் என்றான்.
60 And Jesus said to him: “Let the dead bury their dead. But you go and announce the kingdom of God.”
௬0அதற்கு இயேசு: மரித்தோர் தங்களுடைய மரித்தோரை அடக்கம்பண்ணட்டும்; நீ போய், தேவனுடைய ராஜ்யத்தைக்குறித்துப் பிரசங்கம்பண்ணு என்றார்.
61 And another said: “I will follow you, Lord. But permit me first to explain this to those of my house.”
௬௧பின்பு வேறு ஒருவன் அவரை நோக்கி: ஆண்டவரே, உம்மைப் பின்பற்றுவேன், ஆனாலும் முதலில் நான் போய் வீட்டில் உள்ளவர்களிடம் சொல்லிவிட்டு வரும்படி என்னை அனுமதிக்கவேண்டும் என்றான்.
62 Jesus said to him, “No one who puts his hand to the plow, and then looks back, is fit for the kingdom of God.”
௬௨அதற்கு இயேசு: கலப்பையின்மேல் தன் கையை வைத்துவிட்டு பின்னோக்கிப் பார்க்கிற எவனும் தேவனுடைய ராஜ்யத்திற்குத் தகுதியுள்ளவன் இல்லை என்றார்.
