< Leviticus 15 >
1 And the Lord spoke to Moses and Aaron, saying:
And YHWH speaks to Moses and to Aaron, saying,
2 Speak to the sons of Israel, and say to them: The man who undergoes a flow of seed shall be unclean.
“Speak to the sons of Israel, and you have said to them: When there is discharging out of the flesh of any man, he [is] unclean [from] his discharge;
3 And then he shall be judged subject to this fault, if a filthy fluid, at each moment, adheres to his flesh and gathers there.
and this is his uncleanness in his discharge—his flesh has run with his discharge, or his flesh has stopped from his discharge; it [is] his uncleanness.
4 Every bed on which he sleeps shall be unclean, and every place where he sits.
Every bed on which he who has the discharging lies is unclean, and every vessel on which he sits is unclean;
5 If any man has touched his couch, he shall wash his clothes, and having washed with water, he shall be unclean until evening.
and anyone who comes against his bed washes his garments, and has bathed with water, and been unclean until the evening.
6 If he will have sat where that man has sat, he shall also wash his clothes, and having washed with water, he shall be unclean until evening.
And he who is sitting on the vessel on which he sits who has the discharging, washes his garments, and has bathed with water, and been unclean until the evening.
7 Whoever has touched his flesh shall wash his clothes, and having washed with water, he shall be unclean until evening.
And he who is coming against the flesh of him who has the discharging, washes his garments, and has bathed with water, and been unclean until the evening.
8 If such a man has cast his spittle upon him who is clean, he shall wash his clothes, and having washed with water, he shall be unclean until evening.
And when he who has the discharging spits on him who is clean, then he has washed his garments, and has bathed with water, and been unclean until the evening.
9 The saddle on which he has sat shall be unclean.
And all the saddle on which he who has the discharging rides is unclean;
10 And whatever has been under him who has undergone a flow of seed shall be polluted until evening. Whoever carries any of these things shall wash his clothes, and having washed with water, he shall be unclean until evening.
and anyone who is coming against anything which is under him is unclean until the evening, and he who is carrying them washes his garments, and has bathed with water, and been unclean until the evening.
11 All whom such a one has touched, not having washed his hands before, shall wash his clothes, and having washed with water, he shall be unclean until evening.
And anyone against whom he who has the discharging comes (and has not rinsed his hands with water) has even washed his garments, and bathed with water, and been unclean until the evening.
12 If he has touched an earthen vessel, it shall be broken. But if it is a wooden vessel, it shall be washed with water.
And the earthen vessel which he who has the discharging comes against is broken; and every wooden vessel is rinsed with water.
13 If he who suffers from this affliction will have been healed, he shall number seven days after his cleansing, and having washed his clothes and his entire body in living water, he shall be clean.
And when he who has the discharging is clean from his discharge, then he has numbered seven days for himself for his cleansing, and has washed his garments, and has bathed his flesh with running water, and been clean.
14 Then, on the eighth day, he shall take two turtledoves or two young pigeons, and he shall advance, in the sight of the Lord, toward the door of the tabernacle of the testimony, and he shall give these to the priest,
And on the eighth day he takes two turtle-doves or two young pigeons for himself, and has come in before YHWH to the opening of the Tent of Meeting, and has given them to the priest;
15 who shall offer one for sin, and the other as a holocaust. And he shall pray for him before the Lord, so that he may be cleansed from the flow of his seed.
and the priest has made them, one a sin-offering and one a burnt-offering; and the priest has made atonement for him before YHWH, because of his discharge.
16 A man from whom the seed of sexual intercourse goes out shall wash his entire body with water, and he shall be unclean until evening.
And when a man’s seed [from] intercourse goes out from him, then he has bathed all his flesh with water, and been unclean until the evening.
17 The garment or skin which he will have, he shall wash with water, and it shall be unclean until evening.
And any garment, or any skin on which there is seed [from] intercourse, has also been washed with water, and been unclean until the evening.
18 The woman with whom he has had sexual intercourse shall be washed with water, and she shall be unclean until evening.
And a woman with whom a man lies with seed [from] intercourse, they also have bathed with water, and been unclean until the evening.
19 The woman who, at the return of the month, undergoes the flow of blood shall be separated for seven days.
And when a woman has discharging—blood is her discharge in her flesh—she is in her separation [for] seven days, and anyone who is coming against her is unclean until the evening.
20 All who will touch her shall be unclean until evening.
And anything on which she lies in her separation is unclean, and anything on which she sits is unclean;
21 And everything on which she sleeps or sits, in the days of her separation, shall be polluted.
and anyone who is coming against her bed washes his garments, and has bathed with water, and been unclean until the evening.
22 Whoever will have touched her bed shall wash his clothes, and having washed himself with water, he shall be unclean until evening.
And anyone who is coming against any vessel on which she sits washes his garments, and has washed with water, and been unclean until the evening.
23 Anyone who will have touched any item on which she has sat shall wash his clothes, and having washed himself with water, he shall be polluted until evening.
And if it [is] on the bed, or on the vessel on which she is sitting, in his coming against it, he is unclean until the evening.
24 If a man has sexual intercourse with her in the time of her monthly flow of blood, he shall be unclean for seven days, and every bed on which he sleeps shall be polluted.
And if a man really lies with her, and her separation is on him, then he has been unclean [for] seven days, and all the bed on which he lies is unclean.
25 The woman who undergoes a flow of blood many days beyond her time of menstruation, or whose blood does not cease to flow after the menstrual blood, as long as she is subject to this affliction, she shall be unclean, just as if she were in her time of menstruation.
And when a woman’s discharge of blood flows many days within the time of her separation, or when it flows over her separation—all the days of the discharge of her uncleanness are as the days of her separation; she [is] unclean.
26 Every bed on which she sleeps, and every item on which she sits, shall be polluted.
Every bed on which she lies all the days of her discharge is as the bed of her separation to her, and every vessel on which she sits is unclean as the uncleanness of her separation;
27 Whoever will have touched these shall wash his clothes, and having washed himself with water, he shall be unclean until evening.
and anyone who is coming against them is unclean, and has washed his garments, and has bathed with water, and been unclean until the evening.
28 If the blood has stopped and has ceased to flow, she shall number seven days for her purification,
And if she has been clean from her discharge, then she has numbered seven days for herself, and afterward she is clean;
29 and on the eighth day she shall offer for herself, to the priest, two turtledoves or two young pigeons, at the door of the tabernacle of the testimony.
and on the eighth day she takes two turtle-doves or two young pigeons for herself, and has brought them to the priest, to the opening of the Tent of Meeting;
30 And he shall offer one for sin, and the other as a holocaust, and he shall pray for her before the Lord, and for the flow of her uncleanness.
and the priest has made one a sin-offering and one a burnt-offering, and the priest has made atonement for her before YHWH, because of the discharge of her uncleanness.
31 Therefore, you shall teach the sons of Israel to be cautious of uncleanness, so that they may not die in their filth, when they will have polluted my tabernacle, which is among them.
And you have separated the sons of Israel from their uncleanness, and they do not die in their uncleanness, in their defiling My Dwelling Place which [is] in their midst.
32 This is the law of him who undergoes a flow of seed, or who is polluted by sexual intercourse,
This [is] the law of him who has the discharging, and of him whose seed [from] intercourse goes out from him, to become unclean with it,
33 and of her who is separated in the time of menstruation, or who has a continual flow of blood, and of the man who sleeps with her.
and of her who is sick in her separation, and of him who has the discharging (his discharge, of the male or of the female), and of a man who lies with an unclean woman.”
