Judges 3
1 These are the nations which the Lord left, so that by them he might instruct Israel and all who had not known the wars of the Canaanites,

2 so that afterward their sons might learn to contend with their enemies, and to have a willingness to do battle:
Aron lamang nga ang mga kaliwatan sa mga anak sa Israel mahibalo sa pagtudlo kanila sa gubat, bisan niadtong sa unang panahon walay nanghibalo bisan unsa mahitungod niini:
3 the five princes of the Philistines, and all the Canaanites, and the Sidonians, and the Hivites who were living on Mount Lebanon, from Mount Baal-Hermon as far as the entrance to Hamath.
Nga mao ang lima ka mga pangulo sa mga Philistehanon, ug sa tanang mga Canaanhon, ug sa mga Sidohihanon, ug sa mga Hebehanon nga nanagpuyo sa bukid sa Libano, sukad sa bukid sa Baal-hermon ngadto sa agianan sa pagsulod sa Hamath.
4 And he left them, so that by them he might test Israel, as to whether or not they would listen to the commandments of the Lord, which he instructed to their fathers by the hand of Moses.
Ug sila gibilin sa pagsulay sa Israel pinaagi kanila, aron sa paghibalo kong sila manimati sa mga sugo ni Jehova, nga iyang gisugo sa ilang mga amahan pinaagi kang Moises.
5 And so, the sons of Israel lived in the midst of the Canaanite, and the Hittite, and the Amorite, and the Perizzite, and the Hivite, and the Jebusite.
Ug ang mga anak sa Israel nanagpuyo sa taliwala sa mga Canaanhon, sa mga Hetehanon, ug sa mga Amorehanon, ug sa mga Peresehanon, ug sa mga Hebehanon, ug sa mga Jebusehanon.
6 And they took their daughters as wives, and they gave their own daughters to their sons, and they served their gods.
Ug sila mikuha sa ilang mga anak nga babaye nga ilang gipangasawa, ug gihatag nila ang ilang kaugalingong mga anak nga babaye sa ilang mga anak nga lalake ug nanag-alagad sa ilang mga dios.
7 And they did evil in the sight of the Lord, and they forgot their God, while serving the Baals and Ashtaroth.
Ug ang mga anak sa Israel nanaghimo niadtong dautan sa mga mata ni Jehova, ug nahikalimut kang Jehova nga ilang Dios, ug nanag-alagad sa mga Baal ug sa mga Asherim.
8 And the Lord, having become angry with Israel, delivered them into the hands of Cushan-Rishathaim, the king of Mesopotamia, and they served him for eight years.
Tungod niini ang kasuko ni Jehova misilaub batok sa Israel, ug iyang gibaligya sila ngadto sa kamot ni Chusan-risathaim, hari sa Mesopotamia: ug ang mga anak sa Israel nag-alagad kang Chusan-risathaim sa walo ka tuig.
9 And they cried out to the Lord, who raised up for them a savior, and he freed them, namely, Othniel, the son of Kenaz, a younger brother of Caleb.
Ug sa diha nga ang mga anak sa Israel mingtu-aw ngadto kang Jehova, si Jehova nagpatindog ug usa ka manluluwas sa mga anak sa Israel, nga nagluwas kanila, nga mao si Othoniel, ang anak nga lalake ni Cenez, ang manghud nga lalake ni Caleb.
10 And the Spirit of the Lord was in him, and he judged Israel. And he went out to fight, and the Lord delivered Cushan-Rishathaim, the king of Syria, and he overwhelmed him.
Ug ang Espiritu ni Jehova mikunsad kaniya, ug siya namaghuhukom sa Israel; ug siya miadto sa pagpakiggubat, ug si Jehova nagtugyan kang Chusan-risathaim, hari sa Mesopotamia, ngadto sa iyang kamot ug ang iyang kamot nakadaug batok kang Chusan-risathaim.
11 And the land was quiet for forty years. And Othniel, the son of Kenaz, died.
Ug ang yuta nakapahulay sa kap-atan ka tuig. Ug si Othoniel ang anak nga lalake ni Cenez namatay.
12 Then the sons of Israel resumed doing evil in the sight of the Lord, who strengthened Eglon, the king of Moab, against them because they did evil in his sight.
Ug ang mga anak sa Israel naghimo pag-usab niadtong dautan sa mga mata ni Jehova: ug si Jehova nagpalig-on kang Eglon, ang hari sa Moab batok sa Israel, tungod kay naghimo sila niadtong dautan sa panan-aw ni Jehova.
13 And he joined to him the sons of Ammon and the sons of Amalek. And he went forth and struck Israel, and he possessed the City of Palms.
Ug siya nagtigum ngadto kaniya sa mga anak sa Ammon ug ni Amalec; ug iyang giadto ug gihampak ang Israel ug ilang naagaw ang ciudad sa mga palma.
14 And the sons of Israel served Eglon, the king of Moab, for eighteen years.
Ug ang mga anak sa Israel nag-alagad kang Eglon, ang hari sa Moab napulo ug walo ka tuig.
15 And afterward, they cried out to the Lord, who raised up for them a savior, called Ehud, the son of Gera, the son of Benjamin, who used either hand as well as the right hand. And the sons of Israel sent gifts to Eglon, the king of Moab, by him.
Apan sa diha nga ang mga anak sa Israel mingtu-aw ngadto kang Jehova, si Jehova nagpatindog kanila ug usa ka manluluwas, si Aod, ang anak nga lalake ni Gera, ang Benjamitanhon usa ka tawo nga walhon. Ug ang mga anak sa Israel nagpadala ug buhis ngadto kang Eglon, ang hari sa Moab pinaagi kaniya.
16 And he made for himself a two-edged sword, having a handle, reaching to the middle, the length of the palm of a hand. And he was girded with it under his cloak, on the right thigh.
Ug si Aod nagbuhat alang kaniya usa ka pinuti nga may duha ka sulab, usa ka maniko ang gitas-on; ug iyang gitakin kini sa ilalum sa iyang saput sa toong hawak.
17 And he offered the gifts to Eglon, the king of Moab. Now Eglon was exceedingly fat.
Ug siya nagtanyag sa buhis ngadto kang Eglon, hari sa Moab: karon si Eglon maoy usa ka matambok kaayo nga tawo.
18 And when he had presented the gifts to him, he followed out his companions, who had arrived with him.
Ug sa diha nga siya nakatapus na sa paghatag sa buhis, iyang gipapahawa ang katawohan nga nagdala sa buhis.
19 And then, returning from Gilgal where the idols were, he said to the king, “I have a secret word for you, O king.” And he ordered silence. And when all those who were around him had departed,
Apan siya sa iyang kaugalingon mitalikod gikan sa mga larawan nga didto sa Gilgal, ug miingon: Ako dunay usa ka tinago nga sugo alang kanimo, Oh hari. Ug siya miingon: Paghilum. Ug ang tanan nga nagatindog duol kaniya namahawa gikan kaniya.
20 Ehud entered to him. Now he was sitting alone in a summer upper room. And he said, “I have a word from God to you.” And immediately he rose up from his throne.
Ug si Aod miadto kaniya; ug siya naglingkod nga walay uban diha sa mabugnaw nga lawak nga diha sa itaas. Ug si Aod miingon: Ako adunay usa ka mensaje gikan sa Dios nganha kanimo. Ug siya mitindog gikan sa iyang lingkoranan.
21 And Ehud extended his left hand, and he took the dagger from his right thigh. And he thrust it into his abdomen
Ug si Aod mibakyaw sa iyang walang kamot, ug gikuha ang pinuti gikan sa iyang toong hawak, ug gidunggab sa iyang lawas:
22 so strongly that the handle followed the blade into the wound, and was enclosed by the great amount of fat. Neither did he withdraw the sword. Instead, he left it in the body just as he had struck with it. And immediately, by the private parts of nature, the filth of the bowels went out.
Ug ang puloan usab naipo sunod sa sulab; ug ang tambok mitabon sa sulab kay wala man niya ibta ang pinuti sa iyang lawas; ug kini milapus sa likod.
23 Then Ehud carefully closed the doors of the upper room. And securing the bars,
Unya si Aod miadto ngadto sa pantawan ug gitakpan ang mga pultahan sa lawak sa itaas tungod kaniya ug giyawihan kini.
24 he departed by a back exit. And the servants of the king, entering, saw that the doors of the upper room were closed, and they said, “Perhaps he is emptying his bowels in the summer room.”
Karon sa diha nga nakagula na siya ang iyang mga sulogoon ming-abut; ug ilang nakita, ug ania karon, ang mga pultahan sa kinatas-ang lawak giyawihan; ug sila miingon: Sa pagkatinuod siya nagatabon sa iyang mga tiil sa kinatas-ang lawak.
25 And after waiting a long time, until they were embarrassed, and seeing that no one opened the door, they took the key, and opening it, they found their lord lying dead on the ground.
Ug sila naghulat hangtud nga sila nangalibog; ug ania karon, wala niya ablihi ang mga pultahan sa kinatas-ang lawak; sa ingon niana ilang gikuha ang yawi ug giablihan kini, ug ania karon, ang ilang agalon napukan nga patay sa yuta.
26 But Ehud, while they were in confusion, escaped and passed by the place of the idols, from which he had returned. And he arrived at Seirath.
Ug si Aod mikalagiw sa diha nga sila naghunong pa, ug miagi sa likod sa mga larawan, ug mikalagiw ngadto sa Seirata.
27 And immediately he sounded the trumpet on Mount Ephraim. And the sons of Israel descended with him, he himself advancing at the front.
Ug nahitabo sa diha nga nahiabut siya, nga siya mihuyop ug usa ka trompeta didto sa kabungtoran sa Ephraim: ug ang mga anak sa Israel minglugsong uban kaniya gikan sa kabungtoran, ug siya ang nag-una kanila.
28 And he said to them: “Follow me. For the Lord has delivered our enemies, the Moabites, into our hands.” And they descended after him, and they occupied the fords of the Jordan, which cross over to Moab. And they did not permit anyone to cross.
Ug siya miingon kanila: Sumunod kamo kanako: kay si Jehova naghatag sa inyong mga kaaway ang Moabihanon nganha sa inyong kamot. Ug sila minglugsong nunot kaniya ug ilang gikuha ang mga labanganan sa Jordan batok sa mga Moabihanon, ug walay bisan kinsa nga tawo gipatabok.
29 And so, they struck down the Moabites at that time, about ten thousand, all strong and robust men. None of them were able to escape.
Ug sa ilang gipatay nga mga Moabihanon niadtong panahona may napulo ka libo ka tawo, ang tanan nga mga supang, ug ang tanang mga tawo nga maisug; ug walay usa ka tawo nga nakagawas.
30 And Moab was humbled in that day under the hand of Israel. And the land was quiet for eighty years.

31 After him, there was Shamgar, the son of Anath, who struck down six hundred men of the Philistines with a plowshare. And he also defended Israel.
Ug sunod kaniya mao si Shamgar, ang anak nga lalake ni Anath; nga nakamatay sa mga Philistehanon unom ka gatus ka tawo pinaagi sa usa ka igtutugsok sa vaca: ug siya usab nagluwas sa Israel.
