Job 40
1 And the Lord continued, and he said to Job:
সদাপ্রভু ইয়োবকে আরও বললেন:
2 Will he who contends with God be so easily silenced? Certainly, he who argues with God must also respond to him.
“যে সর্বশক্তিমানের সঙ্গে তর্কবিতর্ক করে সে কি তাঁকে সংশোধন করবে? যে ঈশ্বরকে অভিযুক্ত করেছে সেই তাঁকে জবাব দিক!”
3 Then Job answered the Lord, saying:
পরে ইয়োব সদাপ্রভুকে উত্তর দিলেন:
4 What could I possibly answer, since I have been speaking thoughtlessly? I will place my hand over my mouth.
“আমি অযোগ্য—আমি কীভাবে তোমাকে জবাব দেব? এই আমি আমার মুখে হাত দিলাম।
5 One thing I have spoken, which I wish I had not said; and another, to which I will add no more.
আমি একবার কথা বলেছি, কিন্তু আমার কাছে কোনও উত্তর নেই— দু-বার বলেছি, কিন্তু আমি আর কিছু বলব না।”
6 But the Lord, answering Job out of the whirlwind, said:
পরে ঝড়ের মধ্যে থেকে সদাপ্রভু ইয়োবের সঙ্গে কথা বললেন:
7 Gird your waist like a man. I will question you, and you must answer me.
“পুরুষমানুষের মতো নিজেকে মজবুত করো; আমি তোমাকে প্রশ্ন করব, ও তুমি আমাকে উত্তর দেবে।
8 Will you make my judgment null and void; and will you condemn me so that you may be justified?
“তুমি কি আমার ন্যায়বিচার অগ্রাহ্য করবে? নিজেকে ধার্মিক প্রতিপন্ন করার জন্য কি তুমি আমাকে দোষী সাব্যস্ত করবে?
9 And do you have an arm like God, or a voice like thunder?
ঈশ্বরের মতো তোমারও কি হাত আছে, ও তাঁর মতো তুমিও কি বজ্রধ্বনি করতে পারো?
10 Envelop yourself with splendor, and raise yourself up on high, and be glorious, and put on splendid garments.
তবে নিজেকে প্রতাপ ও উজ্জ্বল দীপ্তি দিয়ে ঢেলে সাজাও, এবং সম্মান ও মর্যাদার পোশাক গায়ে দিয়ে নাও।
11 Scatter the arrogant with your wrath, and, when you see all the arrogant, humble them.
তোমার ক্রোধের উন্মত্ততা নিয়ন্ত্রণমুক্ত করো, যারা অহংকারী তাদের দিকে তাকাও ও তাদের নিচে টেনে নামাও,
12 Look down upon each of the arrogant and confound them, and crush the impious in their place.
যারা অহংকারী তাদের দিকে তাকাও ও তাদের নত করো, দুষ্টেরা যেখানে দাঁড়িয়ে আছে সেখানেই তাদের দমন করো।
13 Hide them in the dust together and plunge their faces into the pit.
তাদের সবাইকে একসাথে ধুলোয় পুঁতে ফেলো; কবরে তাদের মুখ আবৃত করো।
14 Then I will confess that your right hand is able to save you.
তখনই আমি তোমার কাছে স্বীকার করব যে তোমার নিজের ডান হাত তোমাকে উদ্ধার করতে পারবে।
15 Behold, the behemoth, whom I created along with you, eats hay like an ox.
“বহেমোতের দিকে তাকাও, তাকে আমি তোমার সাথেই তৈরি করেছি ও বলদের মতো সেও তৃণভোজী।
16 His strength is in his lower back, and his power is in the center of his abdomen.
তার কোমরে কত শক্তি আছে, তার পেটের পেশিতে কত ক্ষমতা আছে!
17 He draws up his tail like a cedar; the sinews of his thighs have been drawn together.
তার লেজ দেবদারু গাছের মতো দোলে; তার ঊরুর পেশিতন্তু আঁটোসাঁটোভাবে সংলগ্ন।
18 His bones are like pipes of brass; his cartilage is like plates of iron.
তার অস্থি ব্রোঞ্জের নলের মতো, তার অঙ্গপ্রত্যঙ্গ লোহার ছড়ের মতো।
19 He is the beginning of the ways of God, who made him; he will use him as his sword.
ঈশ্বরের সৃষ্টিকর্মের মধ্যে সেই প্রথম স্থান পেয়েছে, তবুও তার সৃষ্টিকর্তা তাঁর তরোয়াল নিয়ে তার কাছে যেতে পারেন।
20 The mountains bring forth grass for him; all the beasts of the field will play there.
পাহাড়গুলি তার কাছে তাদের উৎপন্ন দ্রব্য আনে, ও সব বুনো পশু তার কাছাকাছি খেলে বেড়ায়।
21 He sleeps in the shadows, under the cover of branches, and in moist places.
পদ্মবনের তলায় সে শুয়ে থাকে, জলাভূমির নলবনের মধ্যে সে লুকিয়ে থাকে।
22 The shadows cover his shadow; the willows of the brook will encircle him.
পদ্মবন তার ছায়ায় তাকে আড়াল করে রাখে; জলস্রোতের ধারে থাকা ঝাউ গাছ তাকে ঘিরে রাখে।
23 Behold, he will drink a river and not be amazed, and he has confidence that the Jordan could flow into his mouth.
ফুলেফেঁপে ওঠা নদী তাকে ভয় দেখাতে পারে না; জর্ডন নদীর ঢেউ তার মুখের উপর আছড়ে পড়লেও সে সুরক্ষিত থাকে।
24 He will seize him through his eyes, as if with a hook, and he will bore through his nostrils, as if with stakes.
কেউ কি চোখ দিয়ে তাকে ধরতে পারে, বা তাকে ফাঁদে ফেলে তার নাক ফুঁড়তে পারে?
