Job 25

1 Then Baldad the Suhite answered by saying:

Alors Baldad de Suhé prit la parole et dit:

2 Power and terror are with him that makes a pact with those in high places.

À lui appartiennent la domination et la terreur; il fait régner la paix dans ses hautes demeures.

3 Is there any limit to the number of his soldiers or to the number of those over whom his light rises?

Ses légions ne sont-elles pas innombrables? Sur qui ne se lève pas sa lumière?

4 Is it right for man to compare himself to God, or to appear pure though he is born of woman?

Comment l’homme serait-il juste devant Dieu? Comment le fils de la femme serait-il pur?

5 Behold, even the moon is not radiant, and the stars are not pure, in his sight.

Voici que la lune même est sans clarté, les étoiles ne sont pas pures à ses yeux:

6 Is man much more than rottenness and the son of man much more than worms?

combien moins l’homme, ce vermisseau, le fils de l’homme, ce vil insecte!
