< Job 17 >
1 My spirit will be wasted, my days will be shortened, and only the grave will be left for me.
Ka mueihla he pat tih ka khohnin loh khum coeng, kai hamla coeng tih phuel om coeng.
2 I have not sinned, yet my eye remains in bitterness.
Ka taengah a omsasaipat pai moenih a? Te dongah amih koek ham khaw ka mik ah rhaeh pai saeh.
3 Free me, O Lord, and set me beside you, and let the hand of anyone you wish fight against me.
Kai kah rhikhang he namah hamla khueh laeh. Anih te ulong ka kut dongla a khoom eh?
4 You have set their heart far from discipline; therefore, they will not be praised.
Amih kah lungbuei te lungmingnah lamloh na khoem pah coeng. Te dongah na pomsang sak mahpawh.
5 He promises prey to his companions, but the eyes of his sons will grow faint.
Khoyo la a hui a phoe vaengah a ca rhoek mik tah hma coeng.
6 He has posted me like a proverb to the people, and I am an example in their presence.
Kai he pilnam kah a thuidoek la n'khueh tih maelhmai dongkah timthoeihnah la ka om.
7 My eyesight has been clouded by indignation, and my limbs have been reduced, as if to nothing.
Ka mik he konoinah neh hmang coeng tih ka pumrho he khokhawn bangla boeih om.
8 The just will be astounded over this, and the innocent will be stirred up against the hypocrite.
Te dongah aka thuem khaw a pong sak tih lailak taengah ommongsitoe a haenghang sak.
9 And the just will cling to his way, and clean hands will increase strength.
Tedae aka dueng loh amah longpuei te a tuuk vetih a kut cim khaw a thaa sai ni.
10 Therefore, be converted, all of you, and approach, for I do not find in you any wisdom.
Amih te boeih na mael sak uh coeng. Na pawk uh to cakhaw nangmih ah hlangcueih ka hmu mahpawh.
11 My days have passed away; my thoughts have been scattered, tormenting my heart.
Ka khohnin loh thok coeng. Ka thinko kah kohnek la ka poeknah mawth coeng.
12 They have turned night into day, and I hope for light again after the darkness.
Khoyin te khothaih la a khueh tih, a hmuep tom te vangnah neh a yoei sak.
13 If I should wait, the underworld is my house, and in darkness I have spread out my bed. (Sheol )
Saelkhui te ka im bangla ka lamtawn tih, hmaisuep ah ka rhaenghmuen ka saelh. (Sheol )
14 I have said to decay and to worms: “You are my father, my mother, and my sister.”
Vaam taengah, “A pa nang,” ka ti nah tih a rhit taengah, “A nu neh ka ngannu,” ka ti nah coeng.
15 Therefore, where is my expectation now, and who is it that considers my patience?
Te dongah menim ka ngaiuepnah tih ka ngaiuepnah he unim aka mae?
16 Everything of mine will descend into the deepest underworld; do you think that, in that place at least, there will be rest for me? (Sheol )
Saelkhui thohka te suntla vetih laipi khuila rhenten n'ael aya?,” a ti. (Sheol )
