Jeremiah 43
1 Then it happened that, when Jeremiah had finished speaking all the words of the Lord their God to the people, all those words concerning which the Lord their God had sent him to them,
Khi Giê-rê-mi đã thuật hết cho cả dân sự mọi lời mà Giê-hô-va Ðức Chúa Trời chúng nó, là lời Giê-hô-va Ðức Chúa Trời chúng nó đã sai người nói cho chúng nghe, tức là những lời nầy,
2 Azariah, the son of Hoshaiah, and Johanan, the son of Kareah, and all the exalted men, spoke to Jeremiah, saying: “You are speaking a lie! The Lord our God has not sent you to say: ‘You shall not enter into Egypt so as to live in that place.’
thì A-xa-ria, con trai Hô-sa-gia, và Giô-ha-nan, con trai Ca-rê-át, cùng mọi người kiêu ngạo nói với Giê-rê-mi rằng: Ngươi nói dối! Ðức Giê-hô-va Ðức Chúa Trời chúng ta chưa hề sai ngươi truyền cho chúng ta rằng: Chớ sang nước Ê-díp-tô mà trú ngụ;
3 Instead, Baruch, the son of Neriah, has incited you against us, so as to deliver us into the hands of the Chaldeans, to put us to death and to cause us to be led away into Babylon.”
nhưng ấy là Ba-rúc, con trai Nê-ri-gia, xui ngươi nghịch cùng chúng ta, để nộp chúng ta trong tay người Canh-đê, đặng giết chúng ta hay là điệu về làm phu tù nước Ba-by-lôn.
4 And so Johanan, the son of Kareah, and all the leaders of the warriors, and all the people, did not heed the voice of the Lord to remain in the land of Judah.
Ấy vậy, Giô-ha-nan, con trai Ca-rê-át, các đầu đảng và mọi dân sự, chẳng vâng theo tiếng Ðức Giê-hô-va truyền cho mình lại trong đất Giu-đa.
5 But Johanan, the son of Kareah, and all the leaders of the warriors, took away all the remnant of Judah, who had returned from all the nations (to which they had been scattered before) to live in the land of Judah:
Giô-ha-nan, con trai Ca-rê-át, và các đầu đảng đem những người Giu-đa còn sót lại, tức hết thảy những kẻ trở về từ cả các nước khác mà mình đã bị đuổi đến, mà trong đất Giu-đa,
6 men, and women, and children, and the daughters of the king, and every soul that Nebuzaradan, the leader of the military, had left behind with Gedaliah, the son of Ahikam, the son of Shaphan, as well as Jeremiah, the prophet, and Baruch, the son of Neriah.
đờn ông, đờn bà, trẻ con, cùng các con gài nhà vua, và mọi người mà Nê-ba-xa-a-đan, quan làm đầu thị vệ, đã để lại cho Ghê-đa-lia, con trai A-hi-cam, cháu Sa-phan, lại cũng đem luôn tiên tri Giê-rê-mi và Ba-rúc, con trai Nê-ri-gia,
7 And they entered into the land of Egypt. For they did not obey the voice of the Lord. And they went as far as Tahpanhes.
vào đất Ê-díp-tô, đến Tác-pha-nết; vì họ không vâng theo tiếng Ðức Giê-hô-va.
8 And the word of the Lord came to Jeremiah at Tahpanhes, saying:
Tại Tác-pha-nết, có lời Ðức Giê-hô-va phán cho Giê-rê-mi như vầy:
9 “Take great stones in your hand, and you shall conceal them in the crypt which is under the brick wall at the gate of the house of Pharaoh at Tahpanhes, in the sight of the men of Judah.
Hãy lấy trong tay ngươi những cục đá lớn, đem giấu trong đất sét làm gạch trước cửa nhà Pha-ra-ôn, tại Tác-pha-nát, trước mắt người Giu-đa đều thấy.
10 And you shall say to them: Thus says the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel: Behold, I will send for and take Nebuchadnezzar, the king of Babylon, my servant, and I will set his throne over these stones which I have concealed, and he will establish his throne upon them.
Ngươi khá bảo họ rằng: Ðức Giê-hô-va vạn quân, Ðức Chúa Trời của Y-sơ-ra-ên, phán như vầy: Nầy, ta sẽ sai và lấy tôi tớ ta là Nê-bu-cát-nết-sa, vua Ba-by-lôn, và đặt ngai vua ấy trên những đá nầy mà ta mới vừa giấu; vua ấy sẽ căng màn mình lên trên.
11 And he will come and strike the land of Egypt: those who are meant for death, shall go to death, and those for captivity, to captivity, and those for the sword, to the sword.
Vua ấy sẽ đến, đánh đất Ê-díp-tô; những kẻ phải chết thì làm cho chết, những kẻ phải bị phu tù thì bắt làm phu tù, những kẻ phải bị gươm giáo thì cho gươm giáo!
12 And he will kindle a fire in the shrines of the gods of Egypt, and he will burn them down, and he will lead them away captive. And he will clothe himself with the land of Egypt, just as a shepherd is clothed with his cloak. And he will go forth from that place in peace.
Ta sẽ đốt lửa nơi các chùa miễu của các thần Ê-díp-tô; Nê-bu-cát-nết-sa sẽ đốt đi hết, và đem đi làm phu tù; vua ấy lấy đất Ê-díp-tô mặc cho mình cũng như kẻ chăn chiên mặc áo mình, và vua ấy sẽ đi ra cách bình an.
13 And he will crush the statues of the house of the Sun, those that are in the land of Egypt, and the shrines of the gods of Egypt he will burn up with fire.”
Người sẽ bẻ gãy các cột của Bết-Sê-mết trong đất Ê-díp-tô, và sẽ lấy lửa đốt các chùa miễu của các thầy Ê-díp-tô.
