1 My brothers, not many of you should choose to become teachers, knowing that you shall receive a stricter judgment.
Bakhomba baama, lubika ba bawombo banlongisa; luzebi ti beto minlongi beto tuela luta sambusu.
2 For we all offend in many ways. If anyone does not offend in word, he is a perfect man. And he is then able, as if with a bridle, to lead the whole body around.
Bila beto boso tueti vanga zinzimbala mu zinzila zi phila mu phila. Woso mutu wukakavanganga nzimbala ko mu mambu keti tuba, buna widimutu wufuana; mutu wulenda yadila nituꞌandi yimvimba.
3 For so we put bridles into the mouths of horses, in order to submit them to our will, and so we turn their whole body around.
Bu tueti tula minsinga mu munu wu phunda muingi yitutumimina, buna tueti tumina nitu andi yimvimba.
4 Consider also the ships, which, though they are great and may be driven by strong winds, yet they are turned around with a small rudder, to be directed to wherever the strength of the pilot might will.
Tala masuwa, ka diambu ko, madi manneni ayi phepi yingolo mikumayimvevumunanga mawu vayi meti tuadusu kuidi sengo fifioti kioki kapiteneketi balula mu diambu di diatusu masuwa koso ku katidi.
5 So also the tongue certainly is a small part, but it moves great things. Consider that a small fire can set ablaze a great forest.
Bobuawu buididi mu diambu di ludimi, fidi nama fimosi fifiotivayi fieti kukiniemisa mu diambu di mambu mandi manneni. Keti mbazu yifioti yilenda kuandi yoka nsitu wunneni.
6 And so the tongue is like a fire, comprising all iniquity. The tongue, stationed in the midst of our body, can defile the entire body and inflame the wheel of our nativity, setting a fire from Hell. (Geenna g1067)
Ludimi luidi mbazu, luidi nza yifulukidi mambu mambimbi. Luawu luidi va khatitsika binama bi nitu eto vayi lumbivisanga nitu yimvimba. Luawu lemvo mu mbazu yoyi yimbanga ku bulungi, buna yinzinisangaluzingu lueto loso. (Geenna g1067)
7 For the nature of all beasts and birds and serpents and others is ruled over, and has been ruled over, by human nature.
Mutu wulenda yodika zi phila zioso zi bibulu: bibulu bi nsitu: bibulu bidi malu maya; zinuni, bibulu bindiatilanga mu vumu, ayi bibulu binzingilanga mu mbu. Vayi mutu wukubiyodikanga.
8 But no man is able to rule over the tongue, a restless evil, full of deadly poison.
Vayi mu diambu di ludimi kuisi ko mutu wulenda yadika luawu; bila luidi kima kimbimbi; kivonganga ko, lubeki mitsa mimvondanga.
9 By it we bless God the Father, and by it we speak evil of men, who have been made in the likeness of God.
Mu luawu tueti sadila mu kembisa Pfumu, Dise dieto, ayi luawu tueti sadila mu singa batu bobo bavangulu mu mfikula yi Nzambi.
10 From the same mouth proceeds blessing and cursing. My brothers, these things ought not to be so!
Mu munu wumosi kaka muntotukilanga lusakumunu ayi tsingulu. Bakhomba baama, buawu ko bobo bufueti bela.
11 Does a fountain emit, out of the same opening, both sweet and bitter water?
Lutuama mona tho yi nlangu yintotula mu khumbu yimosi nlangu wu kitoko ayi nlangu wu ndudi e?
12 My brothers, can the fig tree yield grapes? Or the vine, figs? Then neither is salt water able to produce fresh water.
A bakhomba ziama, nti wu figi wulenda buta makundi ma Olivevoti nti wu vinu wulenda buta makundi ma figi e? Tho yi nlanguyidi ndudi-tsalu yilendi totula nlangu wu kitoko ko.
13 Who is wise and well-taught among you? Let him show, by means of good conversation, his work in the meekness of wisdom.
Buna luidi, nani widi Nduenga ayi widi diela? Bika kamonisa khadulu yimboti mu mavanga mandi mamvangimina mu nlembami yi nduenga.
14 But if you hold a bitter zeal, and if there is contention in your hearts, then do not boast and do not be liars against the truth.
Vayi enati kiphala kingolo ayi pheve yi ziphaka bidi mu mintima mieno, buna lubika kukiniemisa ayi lubika tubanga luvunu mu kakidilanga mambu ma kiedika.
15 For this is not wisdom, descending from above, but rather it is earthly, beastly, and diabolical.
Nduenga yi phila yoyi yilendi ba kuidi Nzambi ko; yidi nduenga yinza, yidi yi kimutu ayi yi ziphevi zimbimbi.
16 For wherever envy and contention is, there too is inconstancy and every depraved work.
Bila voso vama vadi kiphala ayi pheve yi ziphaka vawu vadidivunzi ayi mavanga mambimbi ma phila mu phila.
17 But within the wisdom that is from above, certainly, chastity is first, and next peacefulness, meekness, openness, consenting to what is good, a plenitude of mercy and good fruits, not judging, without falseness.
Vayi nduenga yintotukila kuidi Nzambi yidi yivedila vana kitheti, bosi yidi yi ndembama, yi lembama; yizebi vika lebuka; yifulukidi mu mamboti ayi yimbutanga mimbutu mimbote; yitulanga luviakunu ko ayiyisi mayuya ko.
18 And so the fruit of justice is sown in peace by those who make peace.
Vayi batu bobo bansalanga mu diambu di ndembama bankunanga, mbuta wubusonga mu ndembama.
