Isaiah 3
1 For behold, the sovereign Lord of hosts will take away, from Jerusalem and from Judah, the powerful and the strong: all the strength from bread, and all the strength from water;
૧જુઓ, સૈન્યોના પ્રભુ યહોવાહ યરુશાલેમમાંથી તથા યહૂદામાંથી આધાર, ટેકો, રોટલી તથા પાણીનો આખો પુરવઠો લઈ લેનાર છે;
2 the strong man, and the man of war, the judge and the prophet, and the seer and the elder;
૨શૂરવીર તથા લડવૈયા, ન્યાયાધીશ તથા પ્રબોધક, જોશી તથા વડીલ;
3 the leader over fifty and the honorable in appearance; and the counselor, and the wise among builders, and the skillful in mystical speech.
૩સૂબેદાર, પ્રતિષ્ઠિત પુરુષ, સલાહકાર અને કુશળ કારીગર તથા ચતુર જાદુગરને તે લઈ લેશે.
4 And I will provide children as their leaders, and the effeminate will rule over them.
૪“હું જુવાનોને તેઓના આગેવાન ઠરાવીશ અને બાળકો તેઓના પર રાજ કરશે.
5 And the people will rush, man against man, and each one against his neighbor. The child shall rebel against the elder, and the ignoble against the noble.
૫લોકો એકબીજાથી અને દરેક વ્યક્તિ પોતાના પડોશીથી પીડા પામશે; બાળક વડીલનો અને સામાન્ય માણસ પ્રતિષ્ઠિત માણસનો તિરસ્કાર કરશે.
6 For a man will apprehend his brother, from the household of his own father, saying: “The vestment is yours. Be our leader, but let this ruin be under your hand.”
૬તે સમયે માણસ પોતાના ભાઈને તેના પિતાના ઘરમાં પકડીને, કહેશે કે, ‘તારી પાસે વસ્ત્ર છે; તું અમારો અધિપતિ થા અને આ ખંડિયેર તારા હાથ નીચે રહે.’
7 In that day, he will respond by saying: “I am not a healer, and there is no bread or vestment in my house. Do not choose to appoint me as a leader of the people.”
૭ત્યારે તે મોટા અવાજથી કહેશે, ‘હું તો સુધારનાર થવાનો નથી; મારી પાસે રોટલી કે વસ્ત્ર નથી. તમે મને લોકોનો અધિપતિ ઠરાવશો નહિ.”
8 For Jerusalem is ruined, and Judah has fallen, because their words and their plans are against the Lord, in order to provoke the eyes of his majesty.
૮કેમ કે યરુશાલેમની પાયમાલી અને યહૂદાની પડતી થઈ છે, કારણ કે તેઓની વાણી અને કરણીએ યહોવાહની વિરુદ્ધ તેમના રાજ અધિકારની અવગણના કરી છે.
9 The acknowledgement of their countenance is their response. For they have proclaimed their own sin, like Sodom; and they have not concealed it. Woe to their souls! For evils are being repaid to them.
૯તેઓના ચહેરા જ તેમની વિરુદ્ધ સાક્ષી પૂરે છે; અને તેઓ સદોમની જેમ પોતાનું પાપ પ્રગટ કરે છે, તેઓ તેને સંતાડતા નથી. તેઓને અફસોસ છે! કેમ કે તેઓએ પોતે જ આફત વહોરી લીધી છે.
10 Tell the just man that it is well, for he shall eat from the fruit from his own plans.
૧૦ન્યાયી વ્યક્તિને કહો કે તેનું સારું થશે; કેમ કે તેઓ પોતાની કરણીનું ફળ ખાશે.
11 Woe to the impious man immersed in evil! For retribution will be given to him from his own hands.
૧૧દુષ્ટને અફસોસ! તે તેના માટે ખરાબ થશે, કેમ કે તે તેના હાથે કરેલાં કૃત્યનું ફળ ભોગવશે.
12 As for my people, their oppressors have despoiled them, and women have ruled over them. My people, who call you blessed, the same are deceiving you and disrupting the path of your steps.
૧૨મારા લોક પર તો બાળકો જુલમ કરે છે અને સ્ત્રીઓ તેમના પર રાજ કરે છે. મારા લોક, તમારા આગેવાનો તમને કુમાર્ગે દોરે છે અને તમારા ચાલવાના માર્ગ ગૂંચવી નાખે છે.
13 The Lord stands for judgment, and he stands to judge the people.
૧૩યહોવાહ ન્યાય કરવાને ઊઠ્યા છે; પોતાના લોકોનો ન્યાય કરવાને તે ઊભા થયા છે;
14 The Lord will enter into judgment with the elders of his people, and with their leaders. For you have been devouring the vineyard, and the plunder from the poor is in your house.
૧૪યહોવાહ પોતાના લોકોના વડીલોનો તથા તેમના સરદારોનો ન્યાય કરશે: “તમે દ્રાક્ષવાડીને ખાઈ ગયા છો; ગરીબોની લૂંટ તમારા ઘરમાં છે.
15 Why do you wear down my people, and grind up the faces of the poor, says the Lord, the God of hosts?
૧૫તમે કેમ મારા લોકોને છૂંદી નાખો છો અને દરિદ્રીઓના ચહેરાને કચડો છો?” સૈન્યોના પ્રભુ, યહોવાહ એવું કહે છે.
16 And the Lord said: Because the daughters of Zion have been lifted up, and have walked with extended necks and winking eyes, because they have continued on, walking noisily and advancing with a pretentious stride,
૧૬યહોવાહ કહે છે કે સિયોનની દીકરીઓ ગર્વિષ્ઠ છે અને તેઓ માથું ઊંચું રાખીને, આંખોથી કટાક્ષ મારતી, પગથી છમકારા કરતી અને ઠમકતી ઠમકતી ચાલે છે.
17 the Lord will make the heads of the daughters of Zion bald, and the Lord will strip them of the locks of their hair.
૧૭તેથી પ્રભુ સિયોનની દીકરીઓના માથાંને ઉંદરીવાળાં કરી નાખશે અને યહોવાહ તેમને ટાલવાળા કરી નાખશે.
18 In that day, the Lord will take away their decorative shoes,
૧૮તે દિવસે પ્રભુ પગની ઘૂંટીના દાગીનાની શોભા લઈ લેશે, માથાબાંધણ, ચંદનહાર
19 and the little moons and chains, and the necklaces and bracelets, and the hats,
૧૯ઝૂમખાં, બંગડીઓ, ઘૂંઘટ;
20 and the ornaments for their hair, and the anklets, and the touches of myrrh and little bottles of perfumes, and the earrings,
૨૦મુગટો, સાંકળા, પગનાં ઝાંઝર, અત્તરદાનીઓ, માદળિયાં.
21 and the rings, and the jewels hanging on their foreheads,
૨૧વીંટી, નથ;
22 and the continual changes in appearance, and the short skirts, and the fine linens and embroidered cloths,
૨૨ઉત્તમ વસ્ત્રો, ઝભ્ભાઓ, બુરખાઓ અને પાકીટ;
23 and the mirrors, and scarves, and ribbons, and their sparse clothing.
૨૩આરસીઓ, મલમલનાં વસ્ત્રો, પાઘડીઓ તથા બુરખા તે બધું લઈ લેવામાં આવશે.
24 And in place of a sweet fragrance, there will be stench. And in place of a belt, there will be a rope. And in place of stylish hair, there will be baldness. And in place of a blouse, there will be haircloth.
૨૪સુગંધીઓને બદલે દુર્ગંધ; અને કમરબંધને બદલે દોરડું; ગૂંથેલા વાળને બદલે ટાલ; અને ઝભ્ભાને બદલે ટાટનું આવરણ; અને સુંદરતાને બદલે કુરૂપતા થશે.
25 Likewise, your most handsome men will fall by the sword, and your strong men will fall in battle.
૨૫તારા પુરુષો તલવારથી અને તારા શૂરવીરો યુદ્ધમાં પડશે.
26 And her gates will grieve and mourn. And she will sit on the ground, desolate.
૨૬યરુશાલેમના દરવાજા શોક તથા વિલાપ કરશે; અને તે ખાલી થઈને ભૂમિ પર બેસશે.
