< Isaiah 3 >

1 For behold, the sovereign Lord of hosts will take away, from Jerusalem and from Judah, the powerful and the strong: all the strength from bread, and all the strength from water;
Kpɔ ɖa, Aƒetɔ Yehowa, Dziƒoʋakɔwo ƒe Aƒetɔ, aɖo asi Yerusalem kple Yuda ƒe nuɖuɖu kple tsi ƒe kpɔtsoƒewo kple dzikpɔkpɔ dzi. Aɖo asi nuɖuɖu kple tsinono siwo katã wònaa wo la dzi.
2 the strong man, and the man of war, the judge and the prophet, and the seer and the elder;
Aɖo asi eƒe kalẽtɔwo kple aʋawɔlawo, ʋɔnudrɔ̃lawo kple nyagblɔɖilawo, afakalawo kple dumegãwo,
3 the leader over fifty and the honorable in appearance; and the counselor, and the wise among builders, and the skillful in mystical speech.
ame blaatɔ̃wo: ƒe amegãwo, amegã bubuwo, aɖaŋudelawo, aɖaŋudɔwɔlawo kple gbesalawo dzi.
4 And I will provide children as their leaders, and the effeminate will rule over them.
Matsɔ ɖeviwo awɔ woƒe amegãwoe, eye ɖevi suewo anye wo dzi ɖulawo.
5 And the people will rush, man against man, and each one against his neighbor. The child shall rebel against the elder, and the ignoble against the noble.
Amewo ate wo nɔewo ɖe to, ŋutsu atso ɖe ŋutsu ŋu, aƒelika ɖe aƒelika ŋu, sɔhɛwo atso ɖe ame tsitsiwo ŋu, eye yakamewo atso ɖe bubumewo ŋu.
6 For a man will apprehend his brother, from the household of his own father, saying: “The vestment is yours. Be our leader, but let this ruin be under your hand.”
Ŋutsu alé nɔvia ŋutsu le fofoa ƒe aƒe me agblɔ be, “Wò ya avɔ le ŋuwò, nye mia kplɔla ne nàkpɔ aƒe gbagbã sia dzi.”
7 In that day, he will respond by saying: “I am not a healer, and there is no bread or vestment in my house. Do not choose to appoint me as a leader of the people.”
Le ŋkeke ma me la, aɖo eŋu na wo be, “Ŋutete mele ŋunye o, nuɖuɖu alo nutata mele nye aƒe me o, eya ta migawɔm ame siawo kplɔlae o.”
8 For Jerusalem is ruined, and Judah has fallen, because their words and their plans are against the Lord, in order to provoke the eyes of his majesty.
Yerusalem le mumum sɔgɔsɔgɔ, Yuda le anyi dzem. Woƒe nyawo kple woƒe nuwɔwɔ tsi tsitre ɖe Yehowa ŋu. Wogbe eƒe ŋutikɔkɔe ƒe amegbɔnɔnɔ.
9 The acknowledgement of their countenance is their response. For they have proclaimed their own sin, like Sodom; and they have not concealed it. Woe to their souls! For evils are being repaid to them.
Woɖe woƒe nu vɔ̃wo ɖe go abe Sodom ene, eye womeɣla wo o. Baba na wo! Wohe gbegblẽ va wo ɖokuiwo dzi.
10 Tell the just man that it is well, for he shall eat from the fruit from his own plans.
Gblɔe na dzɔdzɔetɔwo be nuwo adze edzi na wo, elabena woaɖu woƒe nuwɔnawo ƒe kutsetsewo.
11 Woe to the impious man immersed in evil! For retribution will be given to him from his own hands.
Baba na ame vɔ̃ɖiwo, gbegblẽ ava wo dzi. Woaxe nu siwo woƒe asiwo wɔ la ƒe fetu na wo.
12 As for my people, their oppressors have despoiled them, and women have ruled over them. My people, who call you blessed, the same are deceiving you and disrupting the path of your steps.
Sɔhɛwo te nye amewo ɖe to, eye nyɔnuwo nye woƒe dziɖulawo. O! Nye amewo, mia kplɔlawo kplɔ mi trae, wote mi ɖa le mɔ la dzi.
13 The Lord stands for judgment, and he stands to judge the people.
Yehowa nɔ anyi ɖe enɔƒe le ʋɔnu. Etso be wòadrɔ̃ ʋɔnu ameawo.
14 The Lord will enter into judgment with the elders of his people, and with their leaders. For you have been devouring the vineyard, and the plunder from the poor is in your house.
Yehowa bu fɔ eƒe amewo, eƒe dumegãwo kple kplɔlawo be, “Miawoe tsrɔ̃ nye waingble. Mieli kɔ nu siwo mieha le ame dahewo si la ɖe miaƒe aƒewo me.
15 Why do you wear down my people, and grind up the faces of the poor, says the Lord, the God of hosts?
Nu ka gblɔm miele esi miegbã nye amewo, eye mieto mo na ame dahewo nyanyanya?” Aƒetɔ, Yehowa, Dziƒoʋakɔwo ƒe Aƒetɔ lae gblɔe.
16 And the Lord said: Because the daughters of Zion have been lifted up, and have walked with extended necks and winking eyes, because they have continued on, walking noisily and advancing with a pretentious stride,
“Zion nyɔnuwo dana, wolia kɔ ganɛ hafi nɔa zɔzɔm. Woɖoa ahĩamo, nɔa zɔzɔm, nɔa ble nyem xatsɛxatsɛ, eye gavi siwo le woƒe afɔkɔe la nɔa ɖiɖim gliŋgliŋgliŋ.
17 the Lord will make the heads of the daughters of Zion bald, and the Lord will strip them of the locks of their hair.
Eya ta Aƒetɔ Yehowa ana be Zion nyɔnuwo ƒe ta nabebe kple abi, Yehowa ana be ta nakpa na wo.”
18 In that day, the Lord will take away their decorative shoes,
Le ŋkeke ma dzi la, Aƒetɔ aɖe woƒe atsyɔ̃ɖonuwo ɖa le wo ŋu: aɖe alɔnugɛwo, tablanuwo, kɔga nyuiwo,
19 and the little moons and chains, and the necklaces and bracelets, and the hats,
aɖe togɛwo, alɔnugɛwo kple motsyɔnuwo ɖa.
20 and the ornaments for their hair, and the anklets, and the touches of myrrh and little bottles of perfumes, and the earrings,
Aɖe tablanuwo, klodzonuwo, dɔmeblanuwo, amiʋeʋĩtukpawo, sebewo,
21 and the rings, and the jewels hanging on their foreheads,
ŋkɔsigɛwo kple ŋɔtigɛwo ɖa.
22 and the continual changes in appearance, and the short skirts, and the fine linens and embroidered cloths,
Aɖe awu ʋlaya nyuiwo, kukuwo, vuvɔmewuwo, akplowo;
23 and the mirrors, and scarves, and ribbons, and their sparse clothing.
ahuhɔ̃ewo, aklala biɖibiɖi ƒe awuwo, agowuwo kple sedawuwo ɖa.
24 And in place of a sweet fragrance, there will be stench. And in place of a belt, there will be a rope. And in place of stylish hair, there will be baldness. And in place of a blouse, there will be haircloth.
Be woanɔ ʋeʋẽm lĩlĩlĩ teƒe la, woaʋẽ kũu; adagbika axɔ ɖe alidziblanu nyui teƒe, tabebe axɔ ɖe ɖa ŋɔŋɔe ƒoƒo teƒe, akpanyatata axɔ ɖe awu ʋlaya, nyui teƒe, eye ŋutilãléayi axɔ ɖe ŋutilã zɔzrɔ̃e teƒe.
25 Likewise, your most handsome men will fall by the sword, and your strong men will fall in battle.
Wò ŋutsuwo atsi yi nu, eye wò aʋawɔlawo atsi aʋa.
26 And her gates will grieve and mourn. And she will sit on the ground, desolate.
Zion ƒe agbowo afa konyi, afa avi, anɔ anyi ɖe anyigba abe wɔnamanɔŋutɔ ene.
