< Galatians 3 >
1 O senseless Galatians, who has so fascinated you that you would not obey the truth, even though Jesus Christ has been presented before your eyes, crucified among you?
Nangmi Kalatih khyang k’ang he aw! u naw a ning jah mhleimhlak ni? Nami mika hmuh yea Jesuh Khritaw kutlamktung üng a thiha mawng angsinga mdana kya ye se.
2 I wish to know only this from you: Did you receive the Spirit by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith?
Thuma pyen nami läka phäha Pamhnama Ngmüimkhya nami yahki aw? Thangkdaw ngja u lü nami jumeia phäha Pamhnama Ngmüimkhya nami yahki aw? Ning jah kthäh veng na mtheh ua.
3 Are you so foolish that, though you began with the Spirit, you would now end with the flesh?
Ihlawka nami yawki ni! Pamhnama Ngmüimkhya am tünei u lü atuh nami mäta khyaihnak am nami kpäng vai nami ngja hlüki aw?
4 Have you been suffering so much without a reason? If so, then it is in vain.
Nami hmuh ngjak he avan amdanga kyaki tinak aw? Iyaw hlenga ta kya vü.
5 Therefore, does he who distributes the Spirit to you, and who works miracles among you, act by the works of the law, or by the hearing of the faith?
Pamhnam naw Ngmüimkhya ning jah pe lü khutbi bi lü, müncan he nami ksunga a jah mdan hin Thum nami läka phäha aw, am acunüng thangkdaw ngja u lü nami jumeia phäha aw?
6 It is just as it was written: “Abraham believed God, and it was reputed to him unto justice.”
Abrahama mawng cen ngai süm u; “Pamhnam jum se, a jumnaka phäha Pamhnam naw ngdüngdaikia a ngaih pet” tia cangcim üng a ng’yuka kba.
7 Therefore, know that those who are of faith, these are the sons of Abraham.
Acunakyase Abrahama cana kcang he cun jumnak takia khyanga kyaki he ti cun nami süm vai sü.
8 Thus Scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the Gentiles by faith, foretold to Abraham: “All nations shall be blessed in you.”
Pamhnam naw khyangmjükce he ami jumnak am amät üng jah ngdüngdaisak khai tia cangcim naw pyen khawiki. Acunakyase cangcim naw, “Pamhnam naw nang üngka naw khyangmjü naküt dawkyanak jah pe khai” tia Abrahama veia thangkdaw a sang cen.
9 And so, those who are of faith shall be blessed with faithful Abraham.
Acunakyase Abraham naw jumei lü dawkyanak a yaha kba; jumeiki naküt naw dawkyanak yah hngaki he.
10 For as many as are of the works of the law are under a curse. For it has been written: “Cursed is everyone who does not continue in all the things that have been written in the book of the Law, so as to do them.”
Thum üp na u lü läkie cun yüncenaka keha awmki he. Isetiakyaküng, “Thum cauk üng ng’yuki naküt am läki naküt cun Pamhnama yüncenaka keha awmki” tia cangcim naw a pyena phäha kyaki.
11 And, since in the law no one is justified with God, this is manifest: “For the just man lives by faith.”
“A jumnaka phäh Pamhnam naw a ngdüngdaisaka khyang däng ni a xün khawm” tia cangcim üng ng’yukia kyase, u pi Thum läka phäha Pamhnama vei ä ngsungpyunki ti ngsingki.
12 But the law is not of faith; instead, “he who does these things shall live by them.”
Thum cun jumnak üng am sengei. “Thuma ti naküt läki xüng khai” tia ni cangcim naw a pyen ve.
13 Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law, since he became a curse for us. For it is written: “Cursed is anyone who hangs from a tree.”
“Thing üng taih naküt cun Pamhnama yüncea kyaki” tia cangcim naw a pyena kyase, mi phäha Khritaw amät yüncea ngpawh kyu lü Thuma lawpüia yüncenak üngka jah thawngki.
14 This was so that the blessing of Abraham might reach the Gentiles through Christ Jesus, in order that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.
Pamhnam naw Abrahama veia a khyütam cen khyangmjükce he naw pi Khritaw Jesuh üngka ami yahnak hnga vaia, Khritaw naw ahin a pawha kyaki. Acunüng Pamhnama khyütamnaka Ngmüimkhya cun mimi naw pi jumnak am mi yahnak hnga vaia kyaki.
15 Brothers (I speak according to man), if a man’s testament has been confirmed, no one would reject it or add to it.
Ka püi he aw, msuimcäpnak am ka pyen khai: khyang nghngih naw iyaw ngaisim ni lü khyütam ani pawh käna u naw am kpyeh thei, mkhahsia pi am kya khawi.
16 The promises were made to Abraham and to his offspring. He did not say, “and to descendents,” as if to many, but instead, as if to one, he said, “and to your offspring,” who is Christ.
Pamhnam naw Abraham la a mjükphyüia veia khyütam pawhki. Ngthungcim naw khawjah a pyena kba, “Mjükphyüiea” tia am kya lü khyang mat däng pyena kba, “Mjükphyüia” tia ni akya ve. Acun cun Khritawa kyaki.
17 But I say this: the testament confirmed by God, which, after four hundred and thirty years became the Law, does not nullify, so as to make the promise empty.
Ka pyen hlü cun: Pamhnam naw Abrahama veia ngthumkhän ta lü acun kümsak khaia khyütam pawhki. Kum phyakphyü la thumkip käna peta Thum naw Pamhnama ngthumkhän am kpyeh thei. Pamhnama khyütam pi am pyaisak thei.
18 For if the inheritance is of the law, then it is no longer of the promise. But God bestowed it to Abraham through the promise.
Pamhnama khawh yet hin Thum üng sengkia akya üng Pamhnama khyütam üng sengkia am kya hlü ti ve. Acunsepi a khyütama phäha ni Pamhnam naw acuna khawh yet cun Abraham üng a pet ve.
19 Why, then, was there a law? It was established because of transgressions, until the offspring would arrive, to whom he made the promise, ordained by Angels through the hand of a mediator.
Acunüng Thum cun ia ham vai ni? Katnak cun katnaka kyaki ti mdan khaia kyaki. Thum cun khyütam pet Abrahama mjükphyüia pha law däa khäng khaia pawha kyaki. Thum cun khankhawngsä naw ngsä mata kut üng a peta kyaki.
20 Now a mediator is not of one, yet God is one.
Acunsepi khyang mat däng a bawi üng ngsä mat am hlü ti; Mhnam ta mat däng ni.
21 So then, was the law contrary to the promises of God? Let it not be so! For if a law had been given, which was able to give life, truly justice would be of the law.
Am acunüng Thum naw Pamhnama khyütam he jah tuki aw? Am jah tu! Nghngicim naw xünak a yahnak vai Thum yahkia akya vai sü, khyang naküt naw Thum läklam lü Pamhnama veia ngdüngdai khai su.
22 But Scripture has enclosed everything under sin, so that the promise, by the faith of Jesus Christ, might be given to those who believe.
Cunsepi cangcim naw, “Khawmdek avan cun katnak johita keha awmki; Jesuh Khritaw jumei phäha yah vai aphu ka a jah yeta khyütam cun jumeiki he üng jah peta kyaki” a ti.
23 But before the faith arrived, we were preserved by being enclosed under the law, unto that faith which was to be revealed.
Cunsepi jumeinaka kcün am a pha law ham üng, jumeinak a ngdang law veicäpa Thum naw thawngkyuma mäiha jah küpki.
24 And so the law was our guardian in Christ, in order that we might be justified by faith.
Acunakyase jumeinak üng Pamhnama veia mi ngdüngdainak vaia, Khritaw am a pha law ham üng Thum naw jah ngkhapüikia kyaki.
25 But now that faith has arrived, we are no longer under a guardian.
Atuh jumeinaka kcün pha lawki. Thum naw am jah ngkhahpüi ti.
26 For you are all sons of God, through the faith which is in Christ Jesus.
Jumnak am Khritaw Jesuh üng Pamhnama ca nami kya bäihki.
27 For as many of you as have been baptized in Christ have become clothed with Christ.
Khritaw üng baptican nami khanki; amät Khritaw nami suiawiki ni.
28 There is neither Jew nor Greek; there is neither servant nor free; there is neither male nor female. For you are all one in Christ Jesus.
Acunakyase Judah khyang ja khyangmjükce he, m'ya la ä m'ya, nghnumi he la kpamie hngalangnak am awm; Jesuh Khritaw üng nami van pum mata nami kyaki.
29 And if you are Christ’s, then are you the offspring of Abraham, heirs according to the promise.
Khritawa ka nami kya üng Abrahama mjükphyüi hea kya u lü Pamhnama khyütam nami yah khai.
