Ezra 8
1 And so these are the leaders of the families, with their genealogy, of those who ascended with me from Babylon, during the reign of king Artaxerxes.
Dies sind die Häupter ihrer Familien und ihrer Anverwandten, die mit mir unter der Regierung Artachsasts, des Königs, aus Babylon heraufzogen:
2 From the sons of Phinehas, Gershom. From the sons of Ithamar, Daniel. From the sons of David, Hattush.

3 From the sons of Shecaniah, the son of Parosh, Zechariah, and one hundred fifty men were numbered with him.
von den Söhnen des Paros: Zekarja und zu ihm gehörend 150 männliche Personen,
4 From the sons of Pahath-moab, Eliehoenai, the son of Zerahiah, and two hundred men were with him.
von den Söhnen Pachatmoabs: Eljehoenai, Zerachjas Sohn, und mit ihm 200 männliche Personen.
5 From the sons of Shecaniah, the son of Jahaziel, and three hundred men were with him.
Von den Söhnen Sekanjas: der Sohn Jachaziels und mit ihm 300 männliche Personen.
6 From the sons of Adin, Ebed, the son of Jonathan, and fifty men were with him.
Und von den Söhnen Adins: Ebed, Jonatans Sohn, und mit ihm 50 männliche Personen.
7 From the sons of Elam, Jeshaiah, the son of Athaliah, and seventy men were with him.
Und von den Söhnen Elams: Jesaja, Ataljas Sohn, und mit ihm 70 männliche Personen.
8 From the sons of Shephatiah, Zebadiah, the son of Michael, and eighty men were with him.
Und von den Söhnen Sepathas: Zebadja, Mikaels Sohn, und mit ihm 80 männliche Personen.
9 From the sons of Joab, Obadiah, the son of Jehiel, and two hundred eighteen men were with him.
Und von den Söhnen Joabs: Obadja, Jechiels Sohn, und mit ihm 218 männliche Personen.
10 From the sons of Shelomith, the son of Josiphiah, and one hundred sixty men were with him.
Und von den Söhnen Sebmits: der Sohn Josiphjas und mit ihm 160 männliche Personen.
11 From the sons of Bebai, Zechariah, the son of Bebai, and twenty-eight men were with him.
Und von den Söhnen Bebais: Zekarja, Bebais Sohn, und mit ihm 28 männliche Personen.
12 From the sons of Azgad, Johanan, the son of Hakkatan, and one hundred and ten men were with him.
Und von den Söhnen Azgars: Jochanan, Hakkatans Sohn, und mit ihm 160 männliche Personen.
13 From the sons of Adonikam, who were the last, and these were their names: Eliphelet, and Jeuel, and Shemaiah, and sixty men were with them.
Und von den Söhnen Adonikams: Eliphelet, Jeiel und Semaja und mit ihnen 60 männliche Personen.
14 From the sons of Bigvai, Uthai and Zaccur, and seventy men were with them.
Und von den Söhnen Bigwais: Utai und Zabbud und mit ihnen 70 männliche Personen.
15 Now I gathered them together at the river that runs down to Ahava, and we stayed there for three days. And I sought among the people and among the priests for the sons of Levi, and I found none there.
Ich versammelte sie an dem Flusse, der nach Ahawa kommt. Dort lagerten wir an drei Tage. Ich musterte das Volk samt den Priestern. Da fand ich keinen von den Söhnen Levis dort.
16 And so I sent Eliezer, and Ariel, and Shemaiah, and Elnathan, and Jarib, and another Elnathan, and Nathan, and Zechariah, and Meshullam, who were leaders, and Joiarib and Elnathan, who were wise.
So schickte ich Eliezer, Ariel, Semaja, Elnatan, Jarib, Elnatan, Natan, Zekarja und Mesullam als Häupter weg, und Jojarib und Elnatan als Lehrer.
17 And I sent them to Iddo, who is first within the place of Casiphia. And I placed in their mouth the words that they should speak to Iddo and his brothers, the temple servants, in the place of Casiphia, so that they would lead to us ministers for the house of our God.
Und ich entbot sie an Iddo, das Oberhaupt im Orte Kasiphja, und legte in ihren Mund den Auftrag, den sie Iddo und seinen Brüdern im Ort Kasiphja bestellen sollten, nämlich, sie sollten uns Diener für unser Gotteshaus zuführen.
18 And because the good hand of our God was over us, they led to us a very learned man from the sons of Mahli, the son of Levi, the son of Israel, with Sherebiah, and his sons, and his eighteen brothers,
Und sie brachten uns unter dem gütigen Schutz unseres Gottes einen verständigen Mann von den Söhnen Machlis, eines Sohnes Levis, eines Sohnes Israels, namens Serebja, mit Söhnen und Brüdern, 18 Mann.
19 and Hashabiah, and with him Jeshaiah, of the sons of Merari, and his brothers, and his sons, numbering twenty.
Auch Chasabja und mit ihm Jesaja von den Söhnen Meraris, seine Brüder und ihre Söhne, 20,
20 And from the temple servants, whom David, and the leaders had provided for the ministry of the Levites, there were two hundred twenty temple servants. All these were called by their names.
von den Tempelsklaven, die David und die Fürsten zum Dienste der Leviten gegeben hatten, 220 Tempelsklaven. Sie alle sind mit Namen verzeichnet.
21 And I proclaimed a fast in that place, beside the river Ahava, so that we might afflict ourselves in the sight of the Lord our God, and so that we might request of him the right way for us, and for our sons, and for all our substance.
Dann rief ich dort am Flusse Ahawa ein Fasten aus, daß wir uns vor unserem Gott demütigten und ihn um gute Reise anflehten, für uns, unsere Kinder und all unsere Habe.
22 For I was ashamed to petition the king for assistance and for horsemen, who would defend us from the enemy along the way. For we had said to the king: “The hand of our God is over all those who seek him in goodness. And his authority, and his strength and fury, is over all those who forsake him.”
Denn ich schämte mich, vom Könige Mannschaft und Reiter zu erbitten, um uns vor den Feinden auf der Reise zu schützen. Denn wir hatten zum König gesagt: "Unseres Gottes Hand ruht auf allen, die ihm zum Besten suchen. Sein mächtiger Zorn dagegen auf allen, die ihn verlassen."
23 And so we fasted and begged our God for this; and as a result, we prospered.
So fasteten wir und erflehten solches von unserem Gott, und er ließ sich von uns erweichen.
24 And I separated twelve from among the leaders of the priests: Sherebiah, and Hashabiah, and with them ten of their brothers.
Dann sonderte ich von den Obersten der Priester zwölf Leute aus, Serebja und Chasabja, mit ihnen zehn von ihren Brüdern.
25 And I weighed out to them the silver and the gold, and the vessels consecrated to the house of our God, which had been offered by the king, and by his counselors and his leaders, and by all those of Israel who had been found.
Und ich wog ihnen dar das Silber und Gold und die Geräte, die Spende für unser Gotteshaus, die der König, seine Räte und Beamten gestiftet und ganz Israel, das sich vorgefunden hatte.
26 And I weighed out to their hands six hundred fifty talents of silver, and one hundred vessels of silver, and one hundred talents of gold,
Ich wog ihnen in die Hand an Silber 650 Talente und 100 silberne Gefäße zu 2 Talenten, an Gold 100 Talente,
27 and twenty gold bowls which had the weight of one thousand coins, and two vessels of the finest shining brass, as beautiful as gold.
sodann 20 goldene Becher zu 1000 Dariken und verschiedene Geräte aus feinem Glanzerz, wertvoll wie Gold.
28 And I said to them: “You are the holy ones of the Lord, and the vessels are holy, with the silver and the gold, which has been offered freely to the Lord, the God of our fathers.
Dann sprach ich zu ihnen: "Ihr seid dem Herrn geweiht, und die Geräte sind geweiht. Das Silber und das Gold sind eine Spende für eurer Väter Gott, den Herrn.
29 Watch and guard them, until you weigh them out before the leaders of the priests and the Levites, and the rulers of the families of Israel in Jerusalem, into the treasury of the house of the Lord.”
Darum hütet es sorgfältig, bis ihr es vor den Obersten der Priester, der Leviten und der Familienoberhäupter Israels zu Jerusalem darwäget in den Zellen im Hause des Herrn!"
30 Then the priests and the Levites received the weight of the silver, and the gold, and the vessels, so that they might carry these to Jerusalem, into the house of our God.
Die Priester und die Leviten übernahmen nun das abgewogene Silber und das Gold und die Geräte, um sie nach Jerusalem in unser Gotteshaus zu bringen.
31 Therefore, we set out from the river Ahava, on the twelfth day of the first month, so that we might travel to Jerusalem. And the hand of our God was over us, and he freed us from the hand of the enemy and of those who lay in ambush along the way.
Wir brachen nun vom Flusse von Ahawa auf am zwölften Tage des ersten Monats, um nach Jerusalem zu ziehen. Und unseres Gottes Hand war über uns. Er schützte uns vor Feinden und vor Wegelagerern.
32 And we arrived at Jerusalem, and we stayed there for three days.
So kamen wir nach Jerusalem und weilten dort drei Tage.
33 Then, on the fourth day, the silver and the gold and the vessels were weighed out in the house of our God, by the hand of Meremoth, the son of Uriah, the priest; and with him was Eleazar, the son of Phinehas, and with them were the Levites, Jozabad, the son of Jeshua, and Noadiah, the son of Binnui.
Am vierten Tage aber wurden das Silber und das Gold und die Geräte in unserem Gotteshause dargewogen in die Hand des Uriassohnes Meremot, des Priesters. Bei ihm war Eleazar, des Pinechas Sohn, bei ihnen auch Jozabad, Jesuas Sohn, und Binnuis Sohn Noadja, die Leviten.
34 This was done according to the number and weight of everything; and every weight was written down at that time.
Alles stimmte nach Zahl und Gewicht, und das ganze Gewicht ward zugleich aufgeschrieben.
35 Moreover, those who came from the captivity, the sons of the transmigration, offered holocausts to the God of Israel: twelve calves on behalf of all the people of Israel, ninety-six rams, seventy-seven lambs, and twelve he-goats for sin. All these were a holocaust to the Lord.
Die aus der Gefangenschaft Heimgekehrten, die Söhne der Gefangenschaft, opferten dem Gott Israels 12 Stiere für das ganze Israel, dann 96 Widder, 77 Lämmer, 12 Böcke zum Sündopfer, alles für den Herrn als Brandopfer.
36 Then they gave the edicts of the king to the rulers who served in the sight of the king, and to the governors beyond the river, and they exalted the people and the house of God.
Dann übergaben sie des Königs Befehle den Satrapen des Königs und den syrischen Statthaltern. Und sie unterstützten das Volk und das Gotteshaus.
