Ezra 7
1 Now after these things, during the reign of Artaxerxes, the king of the Persians, Ezra, the son of Seraiah, the son of Azariah, the son of Hilkiah,
Sau các việc ấy, nhằm đời Aït-ta-xét-xe, vua Phe-rơ-sơ, có E-xơ-ra, là con trai Sê-ra-gia;
2 the son of Shallum, the son of Zadok, the son of Ahitub,
Sê-ra-gia con trai của Hinh-kia, Hinh-kia con trai của Sa-lum, Sa-lum con trai của Xa-đốc, Xa-đốc con trai của A-hi-túp.
3 the son of Amariah, the son of Azariah, the son of Meraioth,
A-hi-túp con trai của A-ma-ria, A-ma-ria con trai của A-xa-ria, A-xa-ria con trai của Mê-ra-giốt.
4 the son of Zerahiah, the son of Uzzi, the son of Bukki,
Mê-ra-giốt con trai của Xê-ra-hi-gia, Xê-ra-hi-gia con trai của U-xi,
5 the son of Abishua, the son of Phinehas, the son of Eleazar, the son of Aaron, priest from the beginning,
U-xi con trai của Bu-ki, Bu-ki con trai của A-bi-sua, A-bi-sua con trai của Phi-nê-a, Phi-nê-a con trai của Ê-lê-a-sa, Ê-lê-a-sa con trai của A-rôn, là thầy tế lễ thượng phẩm.
6 this same Ezra, ascended from Babylon; and he was a proficient scribe in the law of Moses, which the Lord God gave to Israel. And the king granted to him his every petition. For the hand of the Lord, his God, was over him.
E-xơ-ra nầy từ Ba-by-lôn đi lên. Người là một văn sĩ thạo luật pháp của Môi-se, mà Giê-hô-va Ðức Chúa Trời của Y-sơ-ra-ên đã truyền cho. Vì tay của Ðức Giê-hô-va phù trợ người, nên vua ban cho người mọi điều người xin.
7 And some from the sons of Israel, and from the sons of the priests, and from the sons of the Levites, and from the singing men, and from the gatekeepers, and from the temple servants ascended to Jerusalem, in the seventh year of king Artaxerxes.
Nhằm năm thứ bảy đời vua Aït-ta-xét-xe, có mấy người trong dân Y-sơ-ra-ên, trong bọn thầy tế lễ, và người Lê-vi, kẻ ca hát, người giữ cửa, và người Nê-thi-min, đều đi cùng người trở lên Giê-ru-sa-lem.
8 And they arrived at Jerusalem in the fifth month, in the same seventh year of the king.
Tháng năm năm thứ bảy đời vua ấy, E-xơ-ra đến thành Giê-ru-sa-lem.
9 For on the first day of the first month, he began to ascend from Babylon, and on the first day of the fifth month, he arrived at Jerusalem. For the good hand of his God was over him.
Vả, ngày mồng một tháng giêng, người ở Ba-by-lôn khởi hành; rồi ra nhờ tay nhân lành của Ðức Chúa Trời phù trợ, người đến Giê-ru-sa-lem ngày mồng một tháng thứ năm.
10 For Ezra prepared his heart, so that he might search the law of the Lord, and so that he might keep and teach precept and judgment in Israel.
Vì E-xơ-ra đã định chí tra xét luật pháp của Ðức Giê-hô-va, giữ làm theo, và dạy cho dân Y-sơ-ra-ên biết những luật pháp và giới mạng.
11 Now this is a copy of the letter of the edict, which king Artaxerxes gave to Ezra, the priest, a scribe well-taught in the words and precepts of the Lord and in his ceremonies in Israel:
Nầy lá bổn sao lại chiếu chỉ mà vua Aït-ta-xét-xe giao cho E-xơ-ra, thầy tế lễ và văn sĩ, thạo biết trong những điều răn luật lệ của Ðức Chúa Trời đã truyền cho Y-sơ-ra-ên.
12 “Artaxerxes, king of kings, to Ezra, the priest, a very learned scribe of the law of the God of heaven: a greeting.
Vua Aït-ta-xét-xe, vua của các vua, gởi thơ cho E-xơ-ra, thầy tế lễ và văn sĩ, thạo biết luật pháp của Ðức Chúa Trời trên trời. Nguyện ngươi được trọn bình an.
13 It has been decreed by me, that whosoever wishes, among the people of Israel and their priests and Levites within my kingdom, to go to Jerusalem, may go with you.
Ta ra chiếu chỉ định rằng phàm người nào trong nước ta, thuộc về dân Y-sơ-ra-ên, thầy cả và người Lê-vi, sẵn muốn đi đến Giê-ru-sa-lem, thì hãy đi chung với người.
14 For you have been sent from the face of the king and his seven counselors, so that you may visit Judea and Jerusalem by the law of your God, which is in your hand,
Ta và bảy mưu thần ta sai ngươi đi tra xét về Giu-đa và về Giê-ru-sa-lem, chiếu theo luật pháp của Ðức Chúa Trời ngươi có trong tay ngươi.
15 and so that you may carry the silver and gold, which the king and his counselors have freely offered to the God of Israel, whose tabernacle is in Jerusalem.
Ngươi sẽ đem theo mình vàng và bạc mà vua và các mưu thần lạc ý dâng cho Ðức Chúa Trời của Y-sơ-ra-ên, có nơi ở tại Giê-ru-sa-lem,
16 And all the silver and gold, as much as you will find in the entire province of Babylon, and which the people will wish to offer, and which some of the priests will offer freely to the house of their God, which is in Jerusalem,
luôn các bạc và vàng mà ngươi có được trong tỉnh Ba-by-lôn, và những lễ vật lạc ý của dân sự cùng thầy tế lễ dâng cho đền của Ðức Chúa Trời mình tại Giê-ru-sa-lem.
17 accept it freely. And with this money, carefully purchase calves, rams, lambs, and their sacrifices and libations, and offer these upon the altar of the temple of your God, which is in Jerusalem.
Ngươi hãy dùng bạc nầy cần mẫn mua những bò đực, chiên đực, chiên con, luôn của lễ chay, và của lễ quán cặp theo, rồi dâng lên trên bàn thờ ở nơi đền của Ðức Chúa Trời các người, ở tại Giê-ru-sa-lem.
18 But also, whatever it will please you and your brothers to do with the remainder of the silver and gold, do so in accord with the will of your God.
Còn bạc và vàng dư lại, hễ muốn dùng việc gì phải, khá theo ý ngươi và anh em ngươi cho là tốt mà làm thuận ý chỉ của Ðức Chúa Trời các ngươi.
19 Likewise, the vessels that have been given to you for the ministry of the house of your God, deliver these to the sight of God in Jerusalem.
Về các khí dụng đã giao cho ngươi để dùng vào cuộc thờ phượng trong đền của Ðức Chúa Trời ngươi, hãy để nó tại trước mặt Ðức Chúa Trời tại Giê-ru-sa-lem.
20 Then, whatever more will be needed for the house of your God, as much as is necessary for you to spend, it shall be given from the treasury, and from the king’s finances,
Còn các vật gì khác ngươi cần dùng về chi phí đền thờ của Ðức Chúa Trời ngươi, khá lấy các vật ấy nơi kho tàng vua.
21 and by me. I, king Artaxerxes, have appointed and decreed to all the keepers of the public treasury, those who are beyond the river, that whatever Ezra, the priest, a scribe of the law of the God of heaven, shall ask of you, you shall provide it without delay,
Vậy, ta là vua Aït-ta-xét-xe ra chiếu chỉ truyền cho các quan cai kho ở bên phía kia sông rằng hễ vật gì E-xơ-ra, thầy tế lễ và văn sĩ, thạo biết luật pháp của Ðức Chúa Trời trên trời, sẽ cầu cùng các ngươi, các ngươi khá cần mẫn cung cấp cho,
22 even up to one hundred talents of silver, and up to one hundred cors of wheat, and up to one hundred baths of wine, and up to one hundred baths of oil, and truly salt without measure.
đến một trăm ta lâng bạc, một trăm bao lúa miến, một trăm thùng rượu, một trăm thùng dầu, và muối không hạn.
23 All that pertains to the rite of the God of heaven, let it be distributed scrupulously to the house of the God of heaven, lest perhaps he may become angry against the kingdom of the king and his sons.
Phàm điều gì Ðức Chúa Trời trên trời truyền dạy về đền thờ của Ngài, khá làm cho cần mẫn, e sự tai họa giáng trên nước, trên vua, và trên các vương tử chăng.
24 Likewise, we would make known to you, about all the priests, and the Levites, and the singers, and the gatekeepers, and the temple servants, and the ministers of the house of this God, that you have no authority to impose tax, or tribute, or duty upon them.
Lại, ta truyền cho các ngươi biết rằng chẳng được phép thâu thuế hay là tiền mãi lộ nơi thầy tế lễ, người Lê-vi, kẻ ca hát, người giữ cửa, người Nê-thi-nim, hay là nơi những tôi tớ đền thờ của Ðức Chúa Trời.
25 But as for you, Ezra, in accord with the wisdom of your God, which is in your hand, appoint judges and magistrates, so that they may judge the entire people, which is beyond the river, especially so that they may know the law of your God, but also so as to teach the ignorant freely.
Còn ngươi, hỡi E-xơ-ra, tùy theo sự khôn ngoan của Ðức Chúa Trời ngươi, đã có trong tay ngươi, hãy lập những quan phủ, quan án, là những kẻ thạo biết luật pháp của Ðức Chúa Trời ngươi để chúng xét đoán cả dân sự ở bên kia sông; còn người nào chẳng biết luật pháp, các ngươi khá dạy cho nó biết.
26 And anyone who will not diligently keep the law of your God, and the law of the king, judgment shall be upon him, either to death, or to exile, or to the confiscation of his goods, or certainly to prison.”
Nếu có ai không tuân luật pháp của Ðức Chúa Trời ngươi và luật lệ của vua, thì các ngươi hãy đoán phạt họ liền, hoặc xử tử, hoặc lưu đày, hoặc tịch biên gia tài, hay là cầm tù.
27 Blessed be the Lord, the God of our fathers, who has put this into the heart of the king, so that he may glorify the house of the Lord, which is in Jerusalem.
E-xơ-ra bèn nói rằng: Ðáng ngợi khen thay Giê-hô-va Ðức Chúa Trời tổ phụ chúng tôi, vì đã cảm lòng vua toan trang điểm đền thờ của Ðức Giê-hô-va tại Giê-ru-sa-lem,
28 For he has turned his mercy toward me in the sight of the king, and his counselors, and all the powerful leaders of the king. And so, having been strengthened by the hand of the Lord, my God, which was upon me, I gathered together some of the leaders of Israel, those who were to go up with me.
và khiến cho tôi được ơn trước mặt vua, cùng trước mặt các mưu thần và các quan trưởng có quyền của vua! Vậy, tôi hứng chí, vì tay Giê-hô-va Ðức Chúa Trời tôi phù trợ tôi, và tôi chiêu-tập các trưởng tộc Y-sơ-ra-ên đặng đồng đi lên với tôi.
