Exodus 40
1 And the Lord spoke to Moses, saying:
Ja Herra puhui Mosekselle, sanoen:
2 “In the first month, on the first day of the month, you shall raise the tabernacle of the testimony,
Ensimäisenä päivänä ensimäisestä kuusta pitää sinun paneman ylös seurakunnan majan.
3 and you shall place the ark in it, and you shall release the veil before it.
Ja sinun pitää siihen paneman sisälle todistuksen arkin, ja sinun pitää peittämän arkin esiripulla.
4 And having brought in the table, you shall place the things which were solemnly commanded upon it. The lampstand shall stand with its lamps,
Ja sinun pitää myös sinne sisälle tuoman pöydän, ja valmistaman sen, ja asettaman siihen kynttiläjalan, ja paneman lamput sen päälle.
5 and the altar of gold, in which the incense is burned, shall stand before the ark of the testimony. You shall place the tent at the entrance of the tabernacle,

6 and before it, the altar of holocaust.
Mutta polttouhrin alttarin pitää sinun asettaman seurakunnan majan oven eteen,
7 The washtub shall stand between the altar and the tabernacle, and you shall fill it with water.
Ja paneman pesoastian seurakunnan majan ja alttarin välille, ja paneman siihen vettä,
8 And you shall encompass the atrium and its entrance with hangings.
Ja tekemän pihan sen ympärille, ja ripustaman vaatteen pihan portin eteen,
9 And, having taken up the oil of unction, you shall anoint the tabernacle along with its articles, so that they may be sanctified.
Ja ottaman voidellusöljyn, ja voiteleman majan ja kaikki ne mitkä siinä ovat, ja pyhittämän sen kaluinensa, että ne olisivat pyhät,
10 The altar of holocaust and all its vessels,
Ja voiteleman polttouhrin alttarin kaluinensa, ja pyhittämän alttarin: ja se alttari pitää oleman kaikkein pyhin.
11 the washtub with its base, and all things, you shall consecrate with the oil of unction, so that they may be the Holy of holies.
Sinun pitää myös voiteleman pesinastian jalkoinensa, ja sen pyhittämän.
12 And you shall bring forward Aaron and his sons to the entrance of the tabernacle of the testimony, and, having washed them with water,
Ja sinun pitää tuoman Aaronin poikinensa seurakunnan majan oven eteen, ja pesemän heidät vedellä,
Ja puettaman Aaronin pyhiin vaatteisiin, ja voiteleman ja pyhittämän hänen, minun papikseni.
Ja sinun pitää myös tuoman hänen poikansa ja puettaman heidän yllensä ahtaat hameet,
15 you shall clothe them in the holy vestments, so that they may minister to me, and so that their unction may accomplish an everlasting priesthood.”
Ja voiteleman heidät, niinkuin sinä heidän isänsä voitelit, minun papikseni. Ja tämän voidelluksen pitää oleman heille ijankaikkiseksi pappeudeksi, heidän sukukunnissansa.
16 And Moses did all that the Lord had instructed.
Ja Moses teki kaikki kuin Herra oli hänelle käskenyt.
17 Therefore, in the first month of the second year, on the first day of the month, the tabernacle was put in place.
Niin tapahtui toisena vuonna, ensimäisenä päivänä ensimäisestä kuusta, että maja pantiin ylös.
18 And Moses raised it up, and he positioned the panels as well as the bases and the bars, and he set up the columns,
Ja koska Moses pani ylös majan, niin hän asetti jalat ja laudat ja korennot, ja nosti patsaat pystyälle,
19 and he stretched out the roof over the tabernacle, imposing a cover above it, just as the Lord had decreed.
Ja levitti peitteen majan ylitse, ja pani katon sen päälle: niinkuin Herra oli käskenyt Mosekselle.
20 And he placed the testimony in the ark, applying the bars beneath, and the oracle above.
Ja otti todistuksen ja pani arkkiin, ja asetti korennot arkin päälle, ja pani myös armoistuimen arkin päälle.
21 And when he had brought the ark into the tabernacle, he drew the veil before it, in order to fulfill the commandment of the Lord.
Ja toi arkin majaan, ja ripusti esiripun todistusarkin eteen: niinkuin Herra oli käskenyt Mosekselle.
22 And he placed the table in the tabernacle of the testimony, at the north side, beyond the veil,
Niin asetti hän myös pöydän seurakunnan majaan, pohjan puoliselle sivulle, ulkoiselle puolelle esirippua.
23 arranging before it the bread of the presence, just as the Lord had instructed Moses.
Ja asetti leivät sen päälle järjestykseen, Herran eteen: niinkuin Herra oli käskenyt Mosekselle.
24 And he placed the lampstand in the tabernacle of the testimony, away from the table, on the south side,
Niin pani hän myös kynttiläjalan seurakunnan majaan, juuri pöydän kohdalle, etelän sivulle majaa.
25 setting the lamps in order, according to the precept of the Lord.
Ja pani lamput niiden päälle Herran eteen: niinkuin Herra oli käskenyt Mosekselle.
26 He also positioned the altar of gold under the roof of the testimony, opposite the veil,
Ja pani myös kultaisen alttarin seurakunnan majaan, esiripun eteen.
27 and he heaped upon it the incense of aromatics, just as the Lord had commanded Moses.
Ja suitsutti yrttein suitsutuksen sen päällä: niinkuin Herra oli käskenyt Mosekselle.
28 And he positioned the tent at the entrance of the tabernacle of the testimony,
Ja ripusti vaatteen majan oven eteen.
29 and the altar of holocaust in the vestibule of the testimony, offering the holocaust and the sacrifices upon it, just as the Lord had decreed.
Vaan polttouhrin alttarin pani hän seurakunnnan majan oven eteen, ja uhrasi sen päällä polttouhrin ja ruokauhrin: niinkuin Herra oli käskenyt Mosekselle.
30 Likewise, he stationed the washtub between the tabernacle of the testimony and the altar, filling it with water.
Ja pesoastian pani hän seurakunnan majan ja alttarin välille, ja pani siihen vettä pestä heitänsä.
31 And Moses and Aaron, along with his sons, washed their hands and feet,
Ja Moses ja Aaron ja hänen poikansa pesivät kätensä ja jalkansa siitä.
32 whenever they would enter the covering of the covenant, and when they approached to the altar, just as the Lord had instructed Moses.
Sillä heidän piti pesemän itsensä, koska he menivät seurakunnan majaan eli kävivät alttarin tykö; niinkuin Herra oli käskenyt Mosekselle.
33 And he raised up the atrium around the tabernacle and the altar, drawing the hanging at its entrance. After all these things were perfected,
Ja hän pani pihan ylös, majan ja alttarin ympärille, ja ripusti vaatteen pihan sisällekäytävään. Ja niin Moses päätti sen työn.
34 the cloud covered the tabernacle of the testimony, and the glory of the Lord filled it.
Ja pilvi peitti seurakunnan majan, ja Herran kunnia täytti majan.
35 Neither could Moses enter the covering of the covenant: the cloud was covering all things, and the majesty of the Lord was flashing. For the cloud had covered everything.
Ja ei Moses taitanut käydä seurakunnan majaan; sillä pilvi oli sen päällä, ja Herran kunnia täytti majan.
36 Whenever the cloud departed from the tabernacle, the sons of Israel set out by their companies.
Ja koska pilvi meni ylös majan päältä niin Israelin lapset vaelsivat, kaikissa matkoissansa.
37 But if it remained hanging over it, they remained in the same place.
Vaan koska ei pilvi mennyt ylös, silloin ei he vaeltaneet, siihen päivään asti, että se meni ylös.
38 Certainly, the cloud of the Lord lay over the tabernacle by day, and the fire by night, being seen by all the people of Israel throughout all their resting places.
Sillä Herran pilvi oli päivällä majan ylitse, ja yöllä oli tuli siinä, koko Israelin huoneen silmäin edessä, kaikissa heidän vaelluksissansa.
