Exodus 23
1 “You shall not accept a lying voice. Neither shall you join your hand so as to give false testimony on behalf of the impious.
“വ്യാജവാർത്ത പ്രചരിപ്പിക്കരുത്. ദുഷ്ടരായവരെ സഹായിക്കാൻ കള്ളസ്സാക്ഷിയാകരുത്.
2 You shall not follow the crowd in doing evil. Neither shall you go astray in judgment, by agreeing with the majority opinion, apart from the truth.
“ദോഷം പ്രവർത്തിക്കാൻ ഭൂരിപക്ഷത്തോടു യോജിക്കരുത്. വ്യവഹാരത്തിൽ സാക്ഷ്യം പറയുമ്പോൾ ജനക്കൂട്ടത്തോടുചേർന്നു ന്യായം അട്ടിമറിക്കരുത്.
3 Likewise, you shall not show pity in judgment of the poor.
ദരിദ്രന്റെ വ്യവഹാരത്തിൽ ആ വ്യക്തിയോടു പക്ഷഭേദം കാട്ടുകയും അരുത്.
4 If you come across an ox or a donkey of your enemy, which has gone astray, lead it back to him.
“നിന്റെ ശത്രുവിന്റെ കാളയോ കഴുതയോ അലഞ്ഞുതിരിയുന്നതായി കണ്ടാൽ നിശ്ചയമായും അതിനെ ആ മനുഷ്യന്റെ അടുക്കൽ തിരിച്ചെത്തിക്കണം.
5 If you see the donkey of one who hates you, fallen under its burden, you shall not pass by without lifting it up with him.
നിന്നെ വെറുക്കുന്ന ആരുടെയെങ്കിലും കഴുത അതിന്റെ ചുമടിനുകീഴിൽ വീണുകിടക്കുന്നതു കണ്ടാൽ അതിനെ ഉപേക്ഷിച്ചു പോകരുത്. അക്കാര്യത്തിൽ അവരെ നിശ്ചയമായും സഹായിക്കണം.
6 You shall not deviate in judgment of the poor.
“വ്യവഹാരത്തിൽ ദരിദ്രനു നീതി നിഷേധിക്കരുത്.
7 You shall flee from lies. The innocent and the just you shall not kill. For I shun the impious.
വ്യാജാരോപണത്തിൽ നിനക്കു പങ്കുണ്ടാകരുത്. നിരപരാധിയും നീതിമാനും ആയ ഒരു മനുഷ്യനെയും കൊല്ലരുത്. കുറ്റവാളിയെ ഞാൻ ശിക്ഷിക്കാതെ വിടുകയില്ല.
8 Neither shall you accept bribes, which blind even the prudent and subvert the words of the just.
“കൈക്കൂലി വാങ്ങരുത്; കൈക്കൂലി കാഴ്ചയുള്ളവരെ അന്ധരാക്കുകയും നിഷ്കളങ്കരുടെ വചനം കോട്ടിക്കളയുകയും ചെയ്യുന്നു.
9 You shall not harass a sojourner, for you know the life of a newcomer. For you yourselves also were sojourners in the land of Egypt.
“പ്രവാസികളെ പീഡിപ്പിക്കരുത്; ഈജിപ്റ്റിൽ പ്രവാസികളായിരുന്ന നിങ്ങൾക്ക് ഒരു വിദേശിയുടെ ജീവിതം എങ്ങനെയെന്ന് അറിയാമല്ലോ.
10 For six years, you shall sow your land and gather its produce.
“ആറുവർഷം നിന്റെ വയലിൽ വിതച്ച് വിളവു ശേഖരിച്ചുകൊൾക.
11 But in the seventh year, you shall release it and cause it to rest, so that the poor of your people may eat. And whatever remains, let the beasts of the field eat it. So shall you do with your vineyard and your olive grove.
എന്നാൽ ഏഴാംവർഷം നിലം ഉഴാതെ തരിശായിടുക. നിന്റെ ജനത്തിലെ ദരിദ്രർ അതിൽനിന്ന് ആഹാരത്തിനുള്ളതു ശേഖരിക്കട്ടെ. അവർ ഉപേക്ഷിക്കുന്നതു കാട്ടുജന്തുക്കൾ തിന്നട്ടെ. മുന്തിരിത്തോപ്പിന്റെയും ഒലിവുതോട്ടത്തിന്റെയും കാര്യത്തിലും ഇങ്ങനെതന്നെ ചെയ്യണം.
12 For six days, you shall work. On the seventh day, you shall cease, so that your ox and your donkey may rest, and so that the newcomer and the son of your handmaid may be refreshed.
“ആറുദിവസം നിന്റെ ജോലി ചെയ്യണം; എന്നാൽ നിന്റെ കാളയും കഴുതയും വിശ്രമിക്കേണ്ടതിനും, നിന്റെ ദാസിയുടെ പുത്രനും പ്രവാസിയും ഉന്മേഷം പ്രാപിക്കേണ്ടതിനും ഏഴാംദിവസം വേല ചെയ്യരുത്.
13 Preserve all that I have said to you. And by the names of foreign gods you shall not swear; neither shall these be heard from your mouth.
“ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളോടു കൽപ്പിച്ചിട്ടുള്ളതെല്ലാം ജാഗ്രതയോടെ ചെയ്യണം. അന്യദേവന്മാരുടെ നാമം സ്മരിക്കരുത്. അവ നിന്റെ അധരങ്ങളിൽനിന്നു കേൾക്കാൻ ഇടയാകുകയുമരുത്.
14 Three times in each year, you shall celebrate feasts to me.
“വർഷത്തിൽ മൂന്നുപ്രാവശ്യം നിങ്ങൾ എനിക്കായി ഉത്സവം ആചരിക്കണം.
15 You shall keep the solemnity of unleavened bread. For seven days you shall eat unleavened bread, just as I instructed you, at the time of the month of new grain, when you departed from Egypt. You shall not appear empty-handed in my sight,
“പുളിപ്പില്ലാത്ത അപ്പത്തിന്റെ ഉത്സവം ആചരിക്കുക. ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളോടു കൽപ്പിച്ചതുപോലെ പുളിമാവു ചേർക്കാതെ ഉണ്ടാക്കിയ അപ്പം ഏഴുദിവസം ഭക്ഷിക്കണം. ആബീബുമാസത്തിലെ, നിശ്ചയിക്കപ്പെട്ട സമയത്തുവേണം ഇതു ഭക്ഷിക്കേണ്ടത്; ആ മാസത്തിലാണല്ലോ നിങ്ങൾ ഈജിപ്റ്റിൽനിന്ന് പുറപ്പെട്ടത്. “ആരും എന്റെ സന്നിധിയിൽ വെറുങ്കൈയോടെ വരരുത്.
16 for it is the solemnity of the harvest of the first-fruits of your work, of whatever you have sown in the field. Likewise, it is a solemnity at the end of the season, when you will have gathered in all your crops from the field.
“നിങ്ങളുടെ വയലിൽനിന്നുള്ള ആദ്യഫലം ശേഖരിക്കുമ്പോൾ കൊയ്ത്തുത്സവം ആചരിക്കണം. “വർഷാവസാനം നിങ്ങൾ വയലിലെ വിളവു ശേഖരിച്ചു കഴിയുമ്പോൾ കായ്-കനിപ്പെരുന്നാൾ ആചരിക്കണം.
17 Three times a year, all your males shall appear before the Lord your God.
“വർഷത്തിൽ മൂന്നുപ്രാവശ്യം സകലപുരുഷന്മാരും കർത്താവായ യഹോവയുടെ സന്നിധിയിൽ വരണം.
18 You shall not immolate the blood of my victim over leaven, nor shall the fat of my solemnity remain until morning.
“പുളിപ്പുള്ള യാതൊന്നിനോടുംകൂടെ എനിക്കു യാഗരക്തം അർപ്പിക്കരുത്. “എനിക്ക് അർപ്പിക്കുന്ന ഉത്സവയാഗങ്ങളുടെ മേദസ്സ് പ്രഭാതംവരെ സൂക്ഷിക്കരുത്.
19 You shall carry the first grain of the land to the house of the Lord your God. You shall not cook a young goat in the milk of its mother.
“നിന്റെ നിലത്തിലെ ആദ്യഫലങ്ങളിൽ ഏറ്റം മെച്ചമായവ നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവയുടെ ആലയത്തിൽ കൊണ്ടുവരണം. “ആട്ടിൻകുട്ടിയെ അതിന്റെ തള്ളയുടെ പാലിൽ പാകംചെയ്യരുത്.
20 Behold, I will send my Angel, who will go before you, and preserve you on your journey, and lead you into the place that I have prepared.
“വഴിയിൽ നിന്നെ സംരക്ഷിച്ച്, ഞാൻ ഒരുക്കിയിരിക്കുന്ന സ്ഥലത്തു നിന്നെ കൊണ്ടുവരാൻ ഇതാ ഞാൻ ഒരു ദൂതനെ നിനക്കുമുമ്പായി അയയ്ക്കുന്നു.
21 Heed him, and hear his voice, and do not hold him in disregard. For he will not release you when you have sinned, and my name is in him.
അവനെ ശ്രദ്ധിക്കുകയും അവന്റെ വാക്കു കേൾക്കുകയും വേണം. അവനെ എതിർക്കരുത്; എന്റെ നാമം അവനിൽ ഉള്ളതുകൊണ്ട് അവൻ നിന്റെ എതിർപ്പു ക്ഷമിക്കുകയില്ല.
22 But if you listen to his voice and do all that I say, I will be an enemy to your enemies, and I will afflict those who afflict you.
അവൻ പറയുന്നതു ശ്രദ്ധിച്ചുകേട്ട് ഞാൻ കൽപ്പിക്കുന്നതെല്ലാം പ്രവർത്തിച്ചാൽ ഞാൻ നിന്റെ ശത്രുക്കൾക്ക് ശത്രുവും നിന്റെ പ്രതിയോഗികൾക്ക് പ്രതിയോഗിയും ആയിരിക്കും.
23 And my Angel will go before you, and he will bring you to the Amorite, and the Hittite, and the Perizzite, and the Canaanite, and the Hivite, and the Jebusite, whom I will crush.
എന്റെ ദൂതൻ നിനക്കുമുമ്പായി പോകുകയും അമോര്യർ, ഹിത്യർ, പെരിസ്യർ, കനാന്യർ, ഹിവ്യർ, യെബൂസ്യർ എന്നിവരുടെ ദേശത്തേക്കു നിന്നെ കൊണ്ടുവരികയും അവരെ തുടച്ചുനീക്കുകയും ചെയ്യും.
24 You shall not adore their gods, nor worship them. You shall not do their works, but you shall destroy them and break apart their statues.
അവരുടെ ദേവതകൾക്കുമുന്നിൽ വണങ്ങുകയോ ആരാധിക്കുകയോ അവരുടെ ആചാരങ്ങൾ അനുവർത്തിക്കുകയോ ചെയ്യരുത്. നീ അവരെ നശിപ്പിച്ച് അവരുടെ ആചാരസ്തൂപങ്ങൾ തകർത്തുകളയണം.
25 And you shall serve the Lord your God, so that I may bless your bread and your waters, and so that I may take away sickness from your midst.
നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവയെ ആരാധിക്കണം; നിന്റെ ആഹാരത്തിന്മേലും വെള്ളത്തിന്മേലും അവിടത്തെ അനുഗ്രഹം ഉണ്ടായിരിക്കും. ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളുടെ ഇടയിൽനിന്ന് രോഗം നീക്കിക്കളയും.
26 There will not be fruitless or barren ones in your land. I will fill up the number of your days.
ഗർഭം അലസുന്നവളോ വന്ധ്യയോ നിന്റെ ദേശത്ത് ഉണ്ടായിരിക്കുകയില്ല. ഞാൻ നിനക്കു പൂർണായുഷ്കാലം തരും.
27 I will send my terror to run ahead of you, and I will kill all the people to whom you will enter. And I will turn the backs of all your enemies before you,
“ഞാൻ നിനക്കുമുമ്പായി എന്റെ ഭീതി അയച്ച്, നീ നേരിടുന്ന ഓരോ ജനതയെയും പരിഭ്രാന്തരാക്കും. അങ്ങനെ ഞാൻ നിന്റെ സകലശത്രുക്കളെയും പിന്തിരിഞ്ഞോടിപ്പിക്കും.
28 sending wasps ahead, so that they will put to flight the Hivite, and the Canaanite, and the Hittite, before you enter.
ഹിവ്യരെയും കനാന്യരെയും ഹിത്യരെയും നിന്റെ വഴിയിൽനിന്ന് ആട്ടിയോടിക്കാൻ ഞാൻ നിനക്കുമുമ്പായി കടന്നലിനെ അയയ്ക്കും.
29 I will not cast them out from your face in one year, lest the land be reduced to a wilderness and the wild beasts increase against you.
എന്നാൽ ദേശം വിജനമായിത്തീർന്ന്, കാട്ടുമൃഗങ്ങളുടെ ആധിക്യം നിന്നെ ബാധിക്കുമെന്നുള്ളതുകൊണ്ട് ഞാൻ ഒരു വർഷത്തിനകം അവരെ ആട്ടിയോടിക്കുകയില്ല.
30 I will expel them little by little from your sight, until you have expanded and may possess the land.
നീ വേണ്ടുവോളം പെരുകി ദേശം അവകാശമാക്കുമ്പോഴേക്കും ഞാൻ അവരെ കുറേശ്ശെ കുറേശ്ശെയായി നിന്റെ മുമ്പിൽനിന്ന് ആട്ടിയോടിക്കും.
31 Then I will set your limits to be from the Red Sea to the Sea of the Palestinians, and from the desert all the way to the river. I will deliver into your hands the inhabitants of the land, and I will cast them out from your sight.
“ഞാൻ നിന്റെ ദേശം ചെങ്കടൽമുതൽ മെഡിറ്ററേനിയൻ കടൽവരെയും മരുഭൂമിമുതൽ യൂഫ്രട്ടീസ് നദിവരെയും ആക്കി അതിർത്തികൾ സ്ഥിരമാക്കും. ഞാൻ ദേശവാസികളെ നിനക്കു കൈമാറുകയും നീ അവരെ നിന്റെ മുമ്പിൽനിന്ന് ഓടിച്ചുകളയുകയും ചെയ്യും.
32 You shall not enter into a pact with them, nor with their gods.
അവരുമായോ അവരുടെ ദേവതമാരുമായോ ഒരു ഉടമ്പടിയും ഉണ്ടാക്കരുത്.
33 They may not live on your land, lest perhaps they may cause you to sin against me, if you serve their gods, which certainly would be a temptation for you.”
അവരുടെ ദേവതമാരെ ആരാധിക്കുന്നതു നിനക്കു നിശ്ചയമായും കെണി ആകുമെന്നുള്ളതുകൊണ്ട് അവരെ നിന്റെ ദേശത്തു വസിക്കാൻ അനുവദിക്കരുത്; അനുവദിച്ചാൽ അവർ നിങ്ങളെക്കൊണ്ട് എനിക്കു വിരോധമായി പാപം ചെയ്യിക്കും.”
