Esther 10

1 Truly, king Artaxerxes made all the land, and all the islands of the sea, tributaries.

Och konung Ahasveros tog skatt både av fastlandet och av öarna i havet.

2 And his strength and his authority, and the dignity and supremacy with which he exalted Mordecai, have been written in the books of the Medes and the Persians,

Och allt vad han i sin makt och sin väldighet gjorde, ävensom berättelsen om den storhet, till vilken konungen upphöjde Mordokai, det finnes upptecknat i de mediska och persiska konungarnas krönika.

3 and how Mordecai of Jewish birth, was second after king Artaxerxes, and great among the Jews, and acceptable to the people of his brethren, seeking the good of his people, and speaking about things which pertained to peace for their descendants.

Ty juden Mordokai var konung Ahasveros' närmaste man, och han var stor bland judarna och älskad av alla sina bröder, eftersom han sökte sitt folks bästa och lade sig ut för alla sina landsmän till deras välfärd.
