Esther 10

1 Truly, king Artaxerxes made all the land, and all the islands of the sea, tributaries.

E o rei Assuero impôs um tributo sobre a terra e [sobre] as ilhas do mar.

2 And his strength and his authority, and the dignity and supremacy with which he exalted Mordecai, have been written in the books of the Medes and the Persians,

E todas as obras de seu poder e de seu valor, e a declaração da grandeza de Mardoqueu, a quem o rei engrandeceu, por acaso não estão escritas no livro das crônicas dos reis da Média e da Pérsia?

3 and how Mordecai of Jewish birth, was second after king Artaxerxes, and great among the Jews, and acceptable to the people of his brethren, seeking the good of his people, and speaking about things which pertained to peace for their descendants.

Pois o judeu Mardoqueu foi o segundo depois do rei Assuero, e grande entre os judeus, e agradável à multidão de seus irmãos, procurando o bem de seu povo, e falando prosperidade para todo o seu povo.
