Ephesians 5
1 Therefore, as most beloved sons, be imitators of God.
ਅਤੋ ਯੂਯੰ ਪ੍ਰਿਯਬਾਲਕਾ ਇਵੇਸ਼੍ਵਰਸ੍ਯਾਨੁਕਾਰਿਣੋ ਭਵਤ,
2 And walk in love, just as Christ also loved us and delivered himself for us, as an oblation and a sacrifice to God, with a fragrance of sweetness.
ਖ੍ਰੀਸ਼਼੍ਟ ਇਵ ਪ੍ਰੇਮਾਚਾਰੰ ਕੁਰੁਤ ਚ, ਯਤਃ ਸੋ(ਅ)ਸ੍ਮਾਸੁ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਕ੍ਰੁʼਤਵਾਨ੍ ਅਸ੍ਮਾਕੰ ਵਿਨਿਮਯੇਨ ਚਾਤ੍ਮਨਿਵੇਦਨੰ ਕ੍ਰੁʼਤ੍ਵਾ ਗ੍ਰਾਹ੍ਯਸੁਗਨ੍ਧਾਰ੍ਥਕਮ੍ ਉਪਹਾਰੰ ਬਲਿਞ੍ਚੇਸ਼੍ਵਰਾਚ ਦੱਤਵਾਨ੍|
3 But let not any kind of fornication, or impurity, or rapacity so much as be named among you, just as is worthy of the saints,
ਕਿਨ੍ਤੁ ਵੇਸ਼੍ਯਾਗਮਨੰ ਸਰ੍ੱਵਵਿਧਾਸ਼ੌਚਕ੍ਰਿਯਾ ਲੋਭਸ਼੍ਚੈਤੇਸ਼਼ਾਮ੍ ਉੱਚਾਰਣਮਪਿ ਯੁਸ਼਼੍ਮਾਕੰ ਮਧ੍ਯੇ ਨ ਭਵਤੁ, ਏਤਦੇਵ ਪਵਿਤ੍ਰਲੋਕਾਨਾਮ੍ ਉਚਿਤੰ|
4 nor any indecent, or foolish, or abusive talk, for this is without purpose; but instead, give thanks.
ਅਪਰੰ ਕੁਤ੍ਸਿਤਾਲਾਪਃ ਪ੍ਰਲਾਪਃ ਸ਼੍ਲੇਸ਼਼ੋਕ੍ਤਿਸ਼੍ਚ ਨ ਭਵਤੁ ਯਤ ਏਤਾਨ੍ਯਨੁਚਿਤਾਨਿ ਕਿਨ੍ਤ੍ਵੀਸ਼੍ਵਰਸ੍ਯ ਧਨ੍ਯਵਾਦੋ ਭਵਤੁ|
5 For know and understand this: no one who is a fornicator, or lustful, or rapacious (for these are a kind of service to idols) holds an inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God.
ਵੇਸ਼੍ਯਾਗਾਮ੍ਯਸ਼ੌਚਾਚਾਰੀ ਦੇਵਪੂਜਕ ਇਵ ਗਣ੍ਯੋ ਲੋਭੀ ਚੈਤੇਸ਼਼ਾਂ ਕੋਸ਼਼ਿ ਖ੍ਰੀਸ਼਼੍ਟਸ੍ਯ ਰਾਜ੍ਯੇ(ਅ)ਰ੍ਥਤ ਈਸ਼੍ਵਰਸ੍ਯ ਰਾਜ੍ਯੇ ਕਮਪ੍ਯਧਿਕਾਰੰ ਨ ਪ੍ਰਾਪ੍ਸ੍ਯਤੀਤਿ ਯੁਸ਼਼੍ਮਾਭਿਃ ਸਮ੍ਯਕ੍ ਜ੍ਞਾਯਤਾਂ|
6 Let no one seduce you with empty words. For because of these things, the wrath of God was sent upon the sons of unbelief.
ਅਨਰ੍ਥਕਵਾਕ੍ਯੇਨ ਕੋ(ਅ)ਪਿ ਯੁਸ਼਼੍ਮਾਨ੍ ਨ ਵਞ੍ਚਯਤੁ ਯਤਸ੍ਤਾਦ੍ਰੁʼਗਾਚਾਰਹੇਤੋਰਨਾਜ੍ਞਾਗ੍ਰਾਹਿਸ਼਼ੁ ਲੋਕੇਸ਼਼੍ਵੀਸ਼੍ਵਰਸ੍ਯ ਕੋਪੋ ਵਰ੍ੱਤਤੇ|
7 Therefore, do not choose to become participants with them.
ਤਸ੍ਮਾਦ੍ ਯੂਯੰ ਤੈਃ ਸਹਭਾਗਿਨੋ ਨ ਭਵਤ|
8 For you were darkness, in times past, but now you are light, in the Lord. So then, walk as sons of the light.
ਪੂਰ੍ੱਵੰ ਯੂਯਮ੍ ਅਨ੍ਧਕਾਰਸ੍ਵਰੂਪਾ ਆਧ੍ਵੰ ਕਿਨ੍ਤ੍ਵਿਦਾਨੀਂ ਪ੍ਰਭੁਨਾ ਦੀਪ੍ਤਿਸ੍ਵਰੂਪਾ ਭਵਥ ਤਸ੍ਮਾਦ੍ ਦੀਪ੍ਤੇਃ ਸਨ੍ਤਾਨਾ ਇਵ ਸਮਾਚਰਤ|
9 For the fruit of the light is in all goodness and justice and truth,
ਦੀਪ੍ਤੇ ਰ੍ਯਤ੍ ਫਲੰ ਤਤ੍ ਸਰ੍ੱਵਵਿਧਹਿਤੈਸ਼਼ਿਤਾਯਾਂ ਧਰ੍ੰਮੇ ਸਤ੍ਯਾਲਾਪੇ ਚ ਪ੍ਰਕਾਸ਼ਤੇ|
10 affirming what is well-pleasing to God.
ਪ੍ਰਭਵੇ ਯਦ੍ ਰੋਚਤੇ ਤਤ੍ ਪਰੀਕ੍ਸ਼਼ਧ੍ਵੰ|
11 And so, have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but instead, refute them.
ਯੂਯੰ ਤਿਮਿਰਸ੍ਯ ਵਿਫਲਕਰ੍ੰਮਣਾਮ੍ ਅੰਸ਼ਿਨੋ ਨ ਭੂਤ੍ਵਾ ਤੇਸ਼਼ਾਂ ਦੋਸ਼਼ਿਤ੍ਵੰ ਪ੍ਰਕਾਸ਼ਯਤ|
12 For the things that are done by them in secret are shameful, even to mention.
ਯਤਸ੍ਤੇ ਲੋਕਾ ਰਹਮਿ ਯਦ੍ ਯਦ੍ ਆਚਰਨ੍ਤਿ ਤਦੁੱਚਾਰਣਮ੍ ਅਪਿ ਲੱਜਾਜਨਕੰ|
13 But all things that are disputed are made manifest by the light. For all that is made manifest is light.
ਯਤੋ ਦੀਪ੍ਤ੍ਯਾ ਯਦ੍ ਯਤ੍ ਪ੍ਰਕਾਸ਼੍ਯਤੇ ਤਤ੍ ਤਯਾ ਚਕਾਸ੍ਯਤੇ ਯੱਚ ਚਕਾਸ੍ਤਿ ਤਦ੍ ਦੀਪ੍ਤਿਸ੍ਵਰੂਪੰ ਭਵਤਿ|
14 Because of this, it is said: “You who are sleeping: awaken, and rise up from the dead, and so shall the Christ enlighten you.”
ਏਤਤ੍ਕਾਰਣਾਦ੍ ਉਕ੍ਤਮ੍ ਆਸ੍ਤੇ, "ਹੇ ਨਿਦ੍ਰਿਤ ਪ੍ਰਬੁਧ੍ਯਸ੍ਵ ਮ੍ਰੁʼਤੇਭ੍ਯਸ਼੍ਚੋੱਥਿਤਿੰ ਕੁਰੁ| ਤਤ੍ਕ੍ਰੁʼਤੇ ਸੂਰ੍ੱਯਵਤ੍ ਖ੍ਰੀਸ਼਼੍ਟਃ ਸ੍ਵਯੰ ਤ੍ਵਾਂ ਦ੍ਯੋਤਯਿਸ਼਼੍ਯਤਿ| "
15 And so, brothers, see to it that you walk cautiously, not like the foolish,
ਅਤਃ ਸਾਵਧਾਨਾ ਭਵਤ, ਅਜ੍ਞਾਨਾ ਇਵ ਮਾਚਰਤ ਕਿਨ੍ਤੁ ਜ੍ਞਾਨਿਨ ਇਵ ਸਤਰ੍ਕਮ੍ ਆਚਰਤ|
16 but like the wise: atoning for this age, because this is an evil time.
ਸਮਯੰ ਬਹੁਮੂਲ੍ਯੰ ਗਣਯਧ੍ਵੰ ਯਤਃ ਕਾਲਾ ਅਭਦ੍ਰਾਃ|
17 For this reason, do not choose to be imprudent. Instead, understand what is the will of God.
ਤਸ੍ਮਾਦ੍ ਯੂਯਮ੍ ਅਜ੍ਞਾਨਾ ਨ ਭਵਤ ਕਿਨ੍ਤੁ ਪ੍ਰਭੋਰਭਿਮਤੰ ਕਿੰ ਤਦਵਗਤਾ ਭਵਤ|
18 And do not choose to be inebriated by wine, for this is self-indulgence. Instead, be filled with the Holy Spirit,
ਸਰ੍ੱਵਨਾਸ਼ਜਨਕੇਨ ਸੁਰਾਪਾਨੇਨ ਮੱਤਾ ਮਾ ਭਵਤ ਕਿਨ੍ਤ੍ਵਾਤ੍ਮਨਾ ਪੂਰ੍ੱਯਧ੍ਵੰ|
19 speaking among yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual canticles, singing and reciting psalms to the Lord in your hearts,
ਅਪਰੰ ਗੀਤੈ ਰ੍ਗਾਨੈਃ ਪਾਰਮਾਰ੍ਥਿਕਕੀਰ੍ੱਤਨੈਸ਼੍ਚ ਪਰਸ੍ਪਰਮ੍ ਆਲਪਨ੍ਤੋ ਮਨਸਾ ਸਾਰ੍ੱਧੰ ਪ੍ਰਭੁਮ੍ ਉੱਦਿਸ਼੍ਯ ਗਾਯਤ ਵਾਦਯਤ ਚ|
20 giving thanks always for everything, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, to God the Father.
ਸਰ੍ੱਵਦਾ ਸਰ੍ੱਵਵਿਸ਼਼ਯੇ(ਅ)ਸ੍ਮਤ੍ਪ੍ਰਭੋ ਯੀਸ਼ੋਃ ਖ੍ਰੀਸ਼਼੍ਟਸ੍ਯ ਨਾਮ੍ਨਾ ਤਾਤਮ੍ ਈਸ਼੍ਵਰੰ ਧਨ੍ਯੰ ਵਦਤ|
21 Be subject to one another in the fear of Christ.
ਯੂਯਮ੍ ਈਸ਼੍ਵਰਾਦ੍ ਭੀਤਾਃ ਸਨ੍ਤ ਅਨ੍ਯੇ(ਅ)ਪਰੇਸ਼਼ਾਂ ਵਸ਼ੀਭੂਤਾ ਭਵਤ|
22 Wives should be submissive to their husbands, as to the Lord.
ਹੇ ਯੋਸ਼਼ਿਤਃ, ਯੂਯੰ ਯਥਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੋਸ੍ਤਥਾ ਸ੍ਵਸ੍ਵਸ੍ਵਾਮਿਨੋ ਵਸ਼ਙ੍ਗਤਾ ਭਵਤ|
23 For the husband is the head of the wife, just as Christ is the head of the Church. He is the Savior of his body.
ਯਤਃ ਖ੍ਰੀਸ਼਼੍ਟੋ ਯਦ੍ਵਤ੍ ਸਮਿਤੇ ਰ੍ਮੂਰ੍ੱਧਾ ਸ਼ਰੀਰਸ੍ਯ ਤ੍ਰਾਤਾ ਚ ਭਵਤਿ ਤਦ੍ਵਤ੍ ਸ੍ਵਾਮੀ ਯੋਸ਼਼ਿਤੋ ਮੂਰ੍ੱਧਾ|
24 Therefore, just as the Church is subject to Christ, so also should wives be subject to their husbands in all things.
ਅਤਃ ਸਮਿਤਿ ਰ੍ਯਦ੍ਵਤ੍ ਖ੍ਰੀਸ਼਼੍ਟਸ੍ਯ ਵਸ਼ੀਭੂਤਾ ਤਦ੍ਵਦ੍ ਯੋਸ਼਼ਿਦ੍ਭਿਰਪਿ ਸ੍ਵਸ੍ਵਸ੍ਵਾਮਿਨੋ ਵਸ਼ਤਾ ਸ੍ਵੀਕਰ੍ੱਤਵ੍ਯਾ|
25 Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ also loved the Church and handed himself over for her,
ਅਪਰਞ੍ਚ ਹੇ ਪੁਰੁਸ਼਼ਾਃ, ਯੂਯੰ ਖ੍ਰੀਸ਼਼੍ਟ ਇਵ ਸ੍ਵਸ੍ਵਯੋਸ਼਼ਿਤ੍ਸੁ ਪ੍ਰੀਯਧ੍ਵੰ|
26 so that he might sanctify her, washing her clean by water and the Word of life,
ਸ ਖ੍ਰੀਸ਼਼੍ਟੋ(ਅ)ਪਿ ਸਮਿਤੌ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਵਾਨ੍ ਤਸ੍ਯਾਃ ਕ੍ਰੁʼਤੇ ਚ ਸ੍ਵਪ੍ਰਾਣਾਨ੍ ਤ੍ਯਕ੍ਤਵਾਨ੍ ਯਤਃ ਸ ਵਾਕ੍ਯੇ ਜਲਮੱਜਨੇਨ ਤਾਂ ਪਰਿਸ਼਼੍ਕ੍ਰੁʼਤ੍ਯ ਪਾਵਯਿਤੁਮ੍
27 so that he might offer her to himself as a glorious Church, not having any spot or wrinkle or any such thing, so that she would be holy and immaculate.
ਅਪਰੰ ਤਿਲਕਵਲ੍ਯਾਦਿਵਿਹੀਨਾਂ ਪਵਿਤ੍ਰਾਂ ਨਿਸ਼਼੍ਕਲਙ੍ਕਾਞ੍ਚ ਤਾਂ ਸਮਿਤਿੰ ਤੇਜਸ੍ਵਿਨੀਂ ਕ੍ਰੁʼਤ੍ਵਾ ਸ੍ਵਹਸ੍ਤੇ ਸਮਰ੍ਪਯਿਤੁਞ੍ਚਾਭਿਲਸ਼਼ਿਤਵਾਨ੍|
28 So, too, husbands should love their wives as their own bodies. He who loves his wife loves himself.
ਤਸ੍ਮਾਤ੍ ਸ੍ਵਤਨੁਵਤ੍ ਸ੍ਵਯੋਸ਼਼ਿਤਿ ਪ੍ਰੇਮਕਰਣੰ ਪੁਰੁਸ਼਼ਸ੍ਯੋਚਿਤੰ, ਯੇਨ ਸ੍ਵਯੋਸ਼਼ਿਤਿ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਕ੍ਰਿਯਤੇ ਤੇਨਾਤ੍ਮਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਕ੍ਰਿਯਤੇ|
29 For no man has ever hated his own flesh, but instead he nourishes and cherishes it, as Christ also does to the Church.
ਕੋ(ਅ)ਪਿ ਕਦਾਪਿ ਨ ਸ੍ਵਕੀਯਾਂ ਤਨੁਮ੍ ਰੁʼਤੀਯਿਤਵਾਨ੍ ਕਿਨ੍ਤੁ ਸਰ੍ੱਵੇ ਤਾਂ ਵਿਭ੍ਰਤਿ ਪੁਸ਼਼੍ਣਨ੍ਤਿ ਚ| ਖ੍ਰੀਸ਼਼੍ਟੋ(ਅ)ਪਿ ਸਮਿਤਿੰ ਪ੍ਰਤਿ ਤਦੇਵ ਕਰੋਤਿ,
30 For we are a part of his body, of his flesh and of his bones.
ਯਤੋ ਵਯੰ ਤਸ੍ਯ ਸ਼ਰੀਰਸ੍ਯਾਙ੍ਗਾਨਿ ਮਾਂਸਾਸ੍ਥੀਨਿ ਚ ਭਵਾਮਃ|
31 “For this reason, a man shall leave behind his father and mother, and he shall cling to his wife; and the two shall be as one flesh.”
ਏਤਦਰ੍ਥੰ ਮਾਨਵਃ ਸ੍ਵਮਾਤਾਪਿਤਰੋ ਪਰਿਤ੍ਯਜ੍ਯ ਸ੍ਵਭਾਰ੍ੱਯਾਯਾਮ੍ ਆਸੰਕ੍ਸ਼਼੍ਯਤਿ ਤੌ ਦ੍ਵੌ ਜਨਾਵੇਕਾਙ੍ਗੌ ਭਵਿਸ਼਼੍ਯਤਃ|
32 This is a great Sacrament. And I am speaking in Christ and in the Church.
ਏਤੰਨਿਗੂਢਵਾਕ੍ਯੰ ਗੁਰੁਤਰੰ ਮਯਾ ਚ ਖ੍ਰੀਸ਼਼੍ਟਸਮਿਤੀ ਅਧਿ ਤਦ੍ ਉਚ੍ਯਤੇ|
33 Yet truly, each and every one of you should love his wife as himself. And a wife should fear her husband.
ਅਤਏਵ ਯੁਸ਼਼੍ਮਾਕਮ੍ ਏਕੈਕੋ ਜਨ ਆਤ੍ਮਵਤ੍ ਸ੍ਵਯੋਸ਼਼ਿਤਿ ਪ੍ਰੀਯਤਾਂ ਭਾਰ੍ੱਯਾਪਿ ਸ੍ਵਾਮਿਨੰ ਸਮਾਦਰ੍ੱਤੁੰ ਯਤਤਾਂ|
