Deuteronomy 3
1 “And so, having turned back, we ascended by the way of Bashan. And Og, the king of Bashan, went forth with his people to meet us in warfare at Edrei.
౧మనం తిరిగి బాషాను దారిలో వెళ్తుండగా బాషాను రాజు ఓగు, అతని ప్రజలంతా ఎద్రెయీలో మనతో యుద్ధం చేయడానికి ఎదురుగా వచ్చారు.
2 And the Lord said to me: ‘You should not fear him. For he has been delivered into your hand, with all his people as well as his land. And you shall do to him just as you have done to Sihon, the king of the Amorites, who lived at Heshbon.’
౨యెహోవా నాతో ఇలా అన్నాడు. “అతనికి భయపడ వద్దు. అతన్నీ అతని ప్రజలనూ అతని దేశాన్నీ నీ చేతికి అప్పగించాను. హెష్బోనులో అమోరీయుల రాజు సీహోనుకు చేసినట్టే ఇతనికి కూడా చేయాలి.”
3 Therefore, the Lord our God delivered into our hands, now Og, the king of Bashan, and all his people. And we struck them down unto utter annihilation,
౩ఆ విధంగా మన దేవుడు యెహోవా బాషాను రాజు ఓగును, అతని ప్రజలందరినీ మన చేతికి అప్పగించాడు. అతనికి ఎవ్వరూ మిగలకుండా అందరినీ హతం చేశాం.
4 laying waste to all his cities at one time. There was not a village which escaped from us: sixty cities, the entire region of Argob, the kingdom of Og, in Bashan.
౪ఆ కాలంలో అతని పట్టణాలన్నీ స్వాధీనం చేసుకున్నాం. మన స్వాధీనంలోకి రాని పట్టణం ఒక్కటీ లేదు. బాషానులో ఓగు రాజ్యం అర్గోబు ప్రాంతంలో ఉన్న 60 పట్టణాలు ఆక్రమించుకున్నాం.
5 All the cities were fortified with very high walls, and with gates and bars, in addition to innumerable villages which had no walls.
౫ఆ పట్టణాలన్నీ గొప్ప ప్రాకారాలు, ద్వారాలు, గడియలతో ఉన్న దుర్గాలు. అవిగాక ప్రాకారాలు లేని ఇంకా చాలా పట్టణాలు స్వాధీనం చేసుకున్నాం.
6 And we wiped them out, just as we had done to Sihon, the king of Heshbon, destroying every city, and its men, as well as women and children.
౬మనం హెష్బోను రాజు సీహోనుకు చేసినట్టు వాటిని నిర్మూలం చేశాం. ప్రతి పట్టణంలోని స్త్రీ పురుషులనూ పిల్లలనూ నాశనం చేశాం.
7 But the cattle and the spoils of the cities, we plundered.
౭వారి పశువులనూ ఆ పట్టణాల ఆస్తినీ దోచుకున్నాం.
8 And at that time, we took the land from the hand of the two kings of the Amorites, who were across the Jordan: from the torrent Arnon as far as Mount Hermon,
౮ఆ కాలంలో అర్నోను లోయ నుండి హెర్మోను కొండ వరకూ, యొర్దాను అవతల ఉన్న దేశాన్ని ఇద్దరు అమోరీయుల రాజుల దగ్గర నుండి స్వాధీనం చేసుకున్నాం.
9 which the Sidonians call Sirion, and the Amorites call Senir,
౯సీదోనీయులు హెర్మోనును “షిర్యోను” అనేవారు. అమోరీయులు దాన్ని “శెనీరు” అనేవారు.
10 all the cities that are situated in the plain, and the entire land of Gilead and Bashan, all the way to Salecah and Edrei, cities of the kingdom of Og in Bashan.
౧౦మైదానంలోని పట్టాణాలన్నిటిని, బాషానులోని ఓగు రాజ్య పట్టణాలైన సల్కా, ఎద్రెయీ అనేవాటి వరకూ గిలాదు అంతటినీ బాషానునూ ఆక్రమించాం.
11 For only Og, the king of Bashan, was left behind out of the race of the giants. His bed of iron is on display, (it is in Rabbah, among the sons of Ammon) being nine cubits in length, and four in width, according to the measure of the cubit of a man’s hand.
౧౧రెఫాయీయులలో బాషాను రాజు ఓగు మాత్రం మిగిలాడు. అతనిది ఇనుప మంచం. అది అమ్మోనీయుల రబ్బాలో ఉంది గదా? దాని పొడవు తొమ్మిది మూరలు, వెడల్పు నాలుగు మూరలు.
12 And we possessed the land, at that time, from Aroer, which is above the bank of the torrent Arnon, as far as the middle of Mount Gilead. And I gave its cities to Ruben and Gad.
౧౨అర్నోను లోయలో ఉన్న అరోయేరు పట్టణం నుండి గిలాదు కొండ ప్రాంతంలో సగమూ మనం అప్పుడు స్వాధీనం చేసుకొన్న దేశమూ దాని పట్టణాలూ రూబేనీయులకు, గాదీయులకు ఇచ్చాను.
13 Then I delivered the remaining part of Gilead, and all of Bashan, the kingdom of Og, which is the entire region of Argob, to one half of the tribe of Manasseh. And all of Bashan is called the land of the giants.
౧౩ఓగు రాజుకు చెందిన బాషాను అంతటినీ, గిలాదులో మిగిలిన రెఫాయీయుల దేశమని పిలిచే బాషానునూ, అర్గోబు ప్రాంతమంతా మనష్షే అర్థ గోత్రానికి ఇచ్చాను.
14 Jair, the son of Manasseh, possessed all the region of Argob, as far as the borders of Geshur and Maacath. And he called Bashan by his own name, Havvoth Jair, that is, the villages of Jair, even to the present day.
౧౪మనష్షే కొడుకు యాయీరు గెషూరీయుల, మాయాకాతీయుల సరిహద్దుల వరకూ అర్గోబు ప్రాంతాన్ని పట్టుకుని, తన పేరును బట్టి వాటికి యాయీరు బాషాను గ్రామాలు అని పేరు పెట్టాడు. ఈ రోజు వరకూ వాటి పేరు అదే.
15 Likewise, to Machir, I gave Gilead.
౧౫మాకీరీయులకు గిలాదును ఇచ్చాను.
16 And to the tribes of Ruben and Gad, I gave from the land of Gilead as far as the torrent Arnon, one half of the torrent and its confines, even to the torrent Jabbok, which is along the border of the sons of Ammon,
౧౬గిలాదు నుండి అర్నోను లోయ మధ్య వరకూ, యబ్బోకు నది వరకూ, అమ్మోనీయుల పడమటి సరిహద్దు వరకూ రూబేనీయులకూ గాదీయులకూ ఇచ్చాను.
17 and the plain of the wilderness, as well as the Jordan, and the borders of Chinnereth, all the way to the sea of the desert, which is very salty, to the base of Mount Pisgah toward the east.
౧౭ఇవి కాక, కిన్నెరెతు నుండి తూర్పున పిస్గా కొండ వాలుల కింద, ఉప్పు సముద్రం అని పిలిచే అరాబా సముద్రం దాకా వ్యాపించిన అరాబా ప్రాంతాన్ని, యొర్దాను లోయ మధ్యభూమిని, రూబేనీయులకూ గాదీయులకూ ఇచ్చాను.
18 And I instructed you at that time, saying: ‘The Lord your God gives to you this land as an inheritance. Having armed yourselves, go before your brothers, the sons of Israel, all you strong men.
౧౮అప్పుడు నేను మీతో “మీరు స్వాధీనం చేసుకోడానికి మీ దేవుడు యెహోవా ఈ దేశాన్ని మీకిచ్చాడు. మీలో యుద్ధవీరులంతా సిద్ధపడి మీ సోదరులైన ఇశ్రాయేలు ప్రజలతో కలిసి నది దాటి రావాలి.
19 Leave behind your wives and little ones, as well as the cattle. For I know that you have many cattle, and they should remain in the cities which I have delivered to you,
౧౯యెహోవా మీకు విశ్రాంతినిచ్చినట్టు మీ సోదరులకు కూడా విశ్రాంతినిచ్చే వరకూ నేను మీకిచ్చిన పట్టణాల్లో నివసించాలి.
20 until the Lord provides rest to your brothers, just as he has provided for you. And they, too, shall possess the land, which he will give to them beyond the Jordan. Then each one shall return to his possession, which I have allotted to you.’
౨౦అంటే మీ యెహోవా దేవుడు యొర్దాను అవతల వారికి ఇస్తున్న దేశాన్ని వారు స్వాధీనం చేసుకునే వరకూ, మీ భార్యలు, మీ పిల్లలు, మీ మందలు నేను మీకిచ్చిన పట్టణాల్లో నివసించాలి. ఆ తరువాత మీరు మీ స్వాస్థ్యాలకు తిరిగి రావాలి అని మీకు ఆజ్ఞాపించాను. మీ మందలు చాలా ఎక్కువని నాకు తెలుసు” అన్నాను.
21 Likewise, I instructed Joshua at that time, saying: ‘Your eyes have seen what the Lord your God has done to these two kings. So also will he do to all the kingdoms through which you shall pass.
౨౧ఆ సమయంలో నేను యెహోషువకు ఇలా ఆజ్ఞాపించాను. “మీ యెహోవా దేవుడు ఈ ఇద్దరు రాజులకు చేసినదంతా నువ్వు కళ్ళారా చూశావు గదా. నువ్వు వెళ్తున్న రాజ్యాలన్నిటికీ యెహోవా అదే విధంగా చేస్తాడు.
22 You should not fear them. For the Lord your God will fight on your behalf.’
౨౨మీ యెహోవా దేవుడు మీ పక్షంగా యుద్ధం చేస్తాడు కాబట్టి వారికి భయపడ వద్దు.”
23 And I beseeched the Lord at that time, saying:
౨౩ఆ రోజుల్లో నేను “యెహోవా, ప్రభూ, నీ మహిమనూ, నీ బాహుబలాన్నీ నీ దాసునికి చూపించడం ప్రారంభించావు.
24 ‘Lord God, you have begun to reveal your greatness and your very strong hand to your servant. For there is no other god, either in heaven or on earth, who is able to accomplish your works, or to be compared to your strength.
౨౪ఆకాశంలో గాని, భూమిపై గాని నువ్వు చేసే పనులు చేయగల దేవుడెవడు? నీ అంత పరాక్రమం చూపగల దేవుడెవడు?
25 Therefore, I will cross over, and I will view this excellent land beyond the Jordan, and this singular mountain, and Lebanon.’
౨౫నేను అవతలికి వెళ్లి యొర్దాను అవతల ఉన్న ఈ మంచి దేశాన్ని, ఆ మంచి కొండ ప్రాంతాన్ని, ఆ లెబానోనును చూసేలా అనుగ్రహించు” అని యెహోవాను బతిమాలుకున్నాను.
26 And the Lord became angry with me because of you, and he would not heed me. But he said to me: ‘It is enough for you. You shall no longer speak to me at all about this matter.
౨౬యెహోవా మీ కారణంగా నా మీద కోపపడి నా మనవి వినలేదు. ఆయన నాతో ఇలా అన్నాడు. “చాలు. ఇంక ఈ సంగతిని గూర్చి నాతో మాట్లాడవద్దు.
27 Ascend to the summit of Pisgah, and look around with your eyes to the west, and to the north, and to the south, and to the east, and behold it. For you shall not cross this Jordan.
౨౭నువ్వు ఈ యొర్దాను దాటకూడదు. అయితే, పిస్గా కొండ ఎక్కి పడమటి వైపు, ఉత్తరం వైపు, దక్షిణం వైపు, తూర్పు వైపు తేరి చూడు.
28 Instruct Joshua, and encourage and strengthen him. For he shall go before this people, and he shall distribute to them the land that you will see.’
౨౮నీకు బదులుగా యెహోషువకు ఆజ్ఞాపించి, అతణ్ణి ప్రోత్సహించి, బలపరచు. అతడు ఈ ప్రజలను నడిపించి, నది దాటి, నువ్వు చూడబోయే దేశాన్ని వారు స్వాధీనపరచుకొనేలా చేస్తాడు.”
29 And we remained in the valley, opposite the shrine of Peor.”
౨౯ఆ సమయంలో మనం బేత్పయోరు ఎదుట ఉన్న లోయలో ఉన్నాం.
