Daniel 9
1 In the first year of Darius, the son of Ahasuerus, of the offspring of the Medes, who ruled over the kingdom of the Chaldeans,

2 in year one of his reign, I, Daniel, understood in the books the number of the years, concerning the word of the Lord which came to Jeremiah, the prophet, that the desolation of Jerusalem would be completed in seventy years.
அந்த வருடத்திலே, தானியேலாகிய நான் வேதவசனங்களிலிருந்து, எருசலேமின் அழிவு எழுபது வருடங்கள் நீடிக்கும் என்பதை விளங்கிக்கொண்டேன். இதை யெகோவா இறைவாக்கினன் எரேமியாவுக்குக் கொடுத்த வார்த்தையிலிருந்து அறிந்துகொண்டேன்.
3 And I set my face to the Lord, my God, to ask and make supplication with fasting, and sackcloth, and ashes.
எனவே நான் உபவாசித்து, துக்கவுடை உடுத்தி, சாம்பலில் உட்கார்ந்து இறைவனாகிய யெகோவாவிடம் விண்ணப்பத்துடனும், வேண்டுதலுடனும் மன்றாடினேன்.
4 And I prayed to the Lord, my God, and I confessed, and I said, “I beg you, O Lord God, great and terrible, preserving the covenant and mercy for those who love you and keep your commandments.
நான் என் இறைவனாகிய யெகோவாவிடத்தில் மன்றாடி, அறிக்கையிட்டதாவது: “யெகோவாவே மகத்துவமும், பயபக்திக்குரியவருமான இறைவனே, உம்மில் அன்பு செலுத்தி, உமது கட்டளைகளுக்குக் கீழ்ப்படிகிற எல்லோருடனும் உமது உடன்படிக்கையைக் காத்துக்கொள்கிறவரே!
5 We have sinned, we have committed iniquity, we acted impiously and have withdrawn, and we have turned aside from your commandments as well as your judgments.
நாங்களோ பாவம் செய்து அநியாயம் செய்தோம். நாங்கள் கொடியவர்களாயிருந்து, உமக்கெதிராகக் கலகம் செய்தோம். நாங்கள் உமது கட்டளைகளையும், நீதிச்சட்டங்களையும் விட்டு விலகிப்போனோம்.
6 We have not obeyed your servants, the prophets, who have spoken in your name to our kings, our leaders, our fathers, and all the people of the land.
உமது அடியவர்களாகிய இறைவாக்கினர்கள் எங்களுடைய அரசர்களுடனும், தலைவர்களுடனும், எங்கள் தந்தையருடனும், இந்த நாட்டின் மக்கள் எல்லோருடனும் உமது பெயரில் பேசியபோது, அவர்களுக்கு நாங்கள் செவிகொடுக்காதுபோனோம்.
7 To you, O Lord, is justice, but to us is confusion of face, just as it is on this day for the men of Judah, and the inhabitants of Jerusalem, and all Israel, for those who are near and those who are far off, in all the lands to which you have driven them, because of their iniquities by which they have sinned against you.
“யெகோவாவே, நீர் நீதியுள்ளவர். இன்று நாங்கள் வெட்கத்திற்குள்ளாகியிருக்கிறோம். இன்று யூதாவின் மனிதரும், எருசலேமின் மக்களும், சமீபமும், தூரமுமான நாடெங்கிலுமுள்ள இஸ்ரயேலராகிய நாங்கள் எல்லோரும் வெட்கத்திற்குள்ளாகியிருக்கிறோம். நாங்கள் உமக்கு உண்மைத்துவமற்றவர்களாய் இருந்ததால், நீர் எங்களை நாடெங்கிலும் சிதறடித்தீர்.
8 O Lord, to us belongs confusion of face: to our kings, our leaders, and our fathers, who have sinned.
யெகோவாவே நாங்கள் உமக்கு எதிராய் பாவம் செய்ததினால் நாங்களும், எங்கள் அரசர்களும், இளவரசர்களும், தந்தையர்களும் வெட்கத்துக்குள்ளானோம்.
9 But to you, the Lord our God, is mercy and atonement, for we have withdrawn from you,
நாங்கள் அவருக்கு எதிராய் கலகம் பண்ணியிருந்துங்கூட, எங்கள் இறைவனாகிய யெகோவா இரக்கமுடையவராகவும், மன்னிக்கிறவராகவும் இருக்கிறார்.
10 and we have not listened to the voice of the Lord, our God, so as to walk in his law, which he established for us by his servants, the prophets.
நாங்களோ எங்கள் இறைவனாகிய யெகோவாவுக்குக் கீழ்ப்படியவும் இல்லை; அவர் தனது அடியவராகிய இறைவாக்கினர்மூலம் சொன்ன நீதிச்சட்டங்களைக் கைக்கொள்ளவும் இல்லை.
11 And all Israel has transgressed your law and has turned away, not listening to your voice, and so the condemnation and the curse, which is written in the book of Moses, servant of God, has rained down upon us, because we have sinned against him.
இஸ்ரயேலர் யாவரும் உமது சட்டத்தை மீறினார்கள். உமக்குக் கீழ்ப்படிய மறுத்து வழிவிலகிப்போனார்கள். “ஆகவே நாங்கள் உமக்கு விரோதமாகச் செய்த பாவத்தினால், இறைவனின் அடியவனாகிய மோசே தனது சட்ட புத்தகத்தில் எழுதியுள்ளபடி சாபமும், ஆணையிட்டுக்கூறிய நியாயத்தீர்ப்பும் எங்கள்மேல் வந்தன.
12 And he has fulfilled his words, which he has spoken over us and over our leaders who judged us, that he would lead over us a great evil, such as has never before existed under all of heaven, according to what has been done in Jerusalem.
எங்கள்மேல் பேரழிவைக் கொண்டுவந்து, எங்களுக்கும் எங்கள் ஆளுநர்களுக்கும் விரோதமாக பேசப்பட்ட வார்த்தைகளை நீர் நிறைவேற்றிவிட்டீர். எருசலேமுக்குச் செய்யப்பட்டதுபோல, முழு வானத்தின் கீழும் எந்த இடத்திலும் ஒருபோதும் செய்யப்படவில்லை.
13 Just as it has been written in the law of Moses, all this evil has come upon us, and we did not entreat your face, O Lord our God, so that we might turn back from our iniquities and consider your truth.
மோசேயின் சட்டத்தில் எழுதியிருக்கிறதுபோலவே, இந்தப் பேரழிவு எங்கள்மேல் வந்தது. ஆயினும் நாங்கள் எங்கள் பாவங்களை விட்டுத் திரும்பி உமது உண்மையைக் கவனித்து, எங்கள் இறைவனாகிய யெகோவாவின் தயவைத் தேடவில்லை.
14 And the Lord kept watch over the evil and has led it over us; the Lord, our God, is just in all his works, which he has accomplished, for we have not listened to his voice.
யெகோவா எங்கள்மேல் துன்பத்தை வரப்பண்ணத் தயங்கவில்லை. ஏனெனில் இறைவனாகிய எங்கள் யெகோவா தாம் செய்யும் எல்லாவற்றிலும் நியாயமுள்ளவர். நாங்களோ அவருக்குக் கீழ்ப்படியாமலேயே இருக்கிறோம்.
15 And now, O Lord, our God, who has led your people out of the land of Egypt with a strong hand and has made yourself a name in accordance with this day: we have sinned, we have done wrong.
“இறைவனாகிய எங்கள் யெகோவாவே, நீர் உம்முடைய மக்களை எகிப்திலிருந்து வல்லமைமிக்க கரத்தினால் வெளியே கொண்டுவந்தீரே. அதனால் இந்நாள்வரைக்கும் உம்முடைய பெயரை நிலைபெறச் செய்தீரே. இருந்தும் நாங்களோ பாவம் செய்துவிட்டோம். அநியாயம் செய்துவிட்டோம்.
16 O Lord, for all your righteousness, turn away, I beg you, your anger and your fury from your city, Jerusalem, and from your holy mountain. For, because of our sins and the iniquities of our fathers, Jerusalem and your people are a reproach to all who surround us.
யெகோவாவே, உமது நேர்மையான எல்லா செயல்களுக்கேற்ப உமது பட்டணமும், உமது பரிசுத்த மலையுமான எருசலேமைவிட்டு உமது கோபத்தையும், கடுங்கோபத்தையும் விலக்கிவிடும். எங்கள் பாவங்களும், எங்கள் தந்தையர் செய்த அநியாயங்களும் எருசலேமையும், உமது மக்களையும் எங்களைச் சுற்றியுள்ளவர்கள் யாவருக்கும் முன்பாக ஒரு கேலிப்பொருளாக்கியது.
17 Now, therefore, heed, O God, the prayer of your servant and his requests, and reveal your face over your sanctuary, which is desolate, for your own sake.
“இப்பொழுதும் எங்கள் இறைவனே, உமது அடியவனின் மன்றாட்டுகளையும், விண்ணப்பங்களையும் கேளும். யெகோவாவே! பாழாய்க் கிடக்கிற உமது ஆலயத்தை உமது பெயரின் நிமித்தம் தயவுடன் பாரும்.
18 Incline your ear, O my God, and hear, open your eyes and see our desolation and the city over which your name is invoked. For it is not through our justifications that we offer requests before your face, but through the fullness of your compassion.
இறைவனே! உமது செவியைச் சாய்த்துக்கேளும். உமது கண்களைத் திறந்து பாழாய்க்கிடக்கும் உமது பெயர் தரிப்பிக்கப்பட்ட பட்டணத்தின் அழிவைப் பாரும். இந்த மன்றாட்டை எங்கள் நீதியின் பொருட்டு நாங்கள் கேட்காமல், உமது பெரிய இரக்கத்தை முன்வைத்தே கேட்கிறோம்.
19 Heed, O Lord. Be pleased, O Lord. Turn and act. Do not delay, for your own sake, O my God, because your name is invoked over your city and over your people.”
யெகோவாவே, கேளும்; யெகோவாவே, மன்னியும். யெகோவாவே கேட்டுச் செயலாற்றும். என் இறைவனே, உமது நிமித்தம் தாமதிக்காதேயும். ஏனெனில் உமது பட்டணத்திற்கும், உமது மக்களுக்கும் உமது பெயர் இடப்பட்டுள்ளது என்றேன்.”
20 And while I was still speaking and praying and confessing my sins, and the sins of my people, Israel, and offering my prayers in the sight of my God, on behalf of the holy mountain of my God,
இவ்வாறு நான் எனது பாவங்களையும், எங்கள் மக்களாகிய இஸ்ரயேலரின் பாவங்களையும் அறிக்கையிட்டு, என் இறைவனாகிய எனது யெகோவாவின் பரிசுத்த மலைக்காகவும் மன்றாடிக்கொண்டிருந்தேன்.
21 as I was still speaking in prayer, behold, the man Gabriel, whom I had seen in the vision at the beginning, flying swiftly, touched me at the time of the evening sacrifice.
இவ்வாறு நான் மன்றாடிக்கொண்டிருக்கையில், முன்பு தரிசனத்தில் நான் கண்ட காபிரியேல் என்பவர், மாலைப்பலி செலுத்தும் வேளையில் விரைவாகப் பறந்து என்னிடத்தில் வந்தார்.
22 And he instructed me, and he spoke to me and said, “Now, Daniel, I have come forth to teach you and to help you understand.
அவர் வந்து அறிவுறுத்தி எனக்குச் சொன்னதாவது: “தானியேலே உனக்கு நுண்ணறிவையும், விளங்கிக்கொள்ளும் ஆற்றலையும் தரவே நான் இப்பொழுது வந்திருக்கிறேன்.
23 At the beginning of your prayers, the message came forth, yet I have come to explain it to you because you are a man who is seeking. Therefore, you must pay close attention to the message and understand the vision.
நீ மன்றாடத் தொடங்கியவுடனேயே பதில் ஒன்று கொடுக்கப்பட்டது. அதை உனக்குச் சொல்லவே நான் வந்திருக்கிறேன். ஏனெனில் நீ உயர்வாக மதிக்கப்பட்டிருக்கிறாய். ஆதலால் செய்தியைக் கவனமாய்க் கேட்டு, தரிசனத்தின் விளக்கத்தைத் தெரிந்துகொள்.
24 Seventy weeks of years are concentrated on your people and on your holy city, so that transgression shall be finished, and sin shall reach an end, and iniquity shall be wiped away, and so that everlasting justice shall be brought in, and vision and prophecy shall be fulfilled, and the Saint of saints shall be anointed.
“உன் மக்களின் மீறுதல் முடிவுக்கு வரவும், உங்கள் பரிசுத்த நகரத்தின் மீறுதல் முடிவுக்கு வரவும், பாவம் நிறுத்தப்படவும், கொடுமை நிவிர்த்தி செய்யப்படவும், நித்தியமான நியாயம் கொண்டுவரப்படவும், தரிசனமும் இறைவாக்கும் முத்திரையிடப்படவும், மகா பரிசுத்த இடம் அபிஷேகம் செய்யப்படவும் நியமிக்கப்பட்ட காலம் எழுபது ‘ஏழுகள்’ ஆகும்.
25 Therefore, know and take heed: from the going forth of the word to build up Jerusalem again, until the Christ leader, there will be seven weeks of years, and sixty-two weeks of years; and the wide path will be built again, and the walls, in a time of anguish.
“நீ இதை அறிந்து விளங்கிக்கொள். எருசலேம் மீண்டும் புதுப்பித்து கட்டப்படும்படி உத்தரவு பிறப்பிக்கப்பட்டதிலிருந்து, அபிஷேகம் செய்யப்பட்டவரான ஆளுநர் வரும்வரைக்கும் ஏழு ‘ஏழுகளும்’ அறுபத்திரண்டு ‘ஏழுகளும்’ செல்லும். அது வீதிகளும், அலங்கங்களும் உடையதாய் கட்டப்படும். ஆயினும் துன்ப காலங்களிலேயே அது கட்டப்படும்.
26 And after sixty-two weeks of years, the Christ leader will be slain. And the people who have denied him will not be his. And the people, when their leader arrives, will destroy the city and the sanctuary. And its end will be devastation, and, after the end of the war, the desolation will be set up.
அறுபத்திரண்டு ‘ஏழுகளின்’ பின் அபிஷேகம் செய்யப்பட்டவர் நீக்கப்பட்டு ஒன்றுமில்லாதிருப்பார். வரப்போகும் ஆளுநனின் மக்கள் பட்டணத்தையும், பரிசுத்த ஆலயத்தையும் அழித்துப்போடுவார்கள். முடிவு வெள்ளம்போல் வரும். முடிவுவரை யுத்தம் தொடரும். அழிவுகள் நியமிக்கப்பட்டிருக்கின்றன.
27 But he will confirm a covenant with many for one week of years; and for half of the week of years, victim and sacrifice will nearly cease; but there will be in the temple the abomination of desolation. And the desolation will continue even to the consummation and the end.”
அவன் ஒரு ‘ஏழுக்கு’ உடன்படிக்கை ஒன்றை பலருடன் உறுதிப்படுத்துவான். ஆயினும் அந்த ‘ஏழின்’ மத்தியில் பலிக்கும், காணிக்கைக்கும் ஒரு முடிவை உண்டுபண்ணுவான். அழிவைச் செய்கிறவன், நியமிக்கப்பட்ட முடிவு அவன்மேல் வரும்வரை ஆலயத்தின் ஒரு முனையின்மேல் அழிவைக் கொண்டுவரும் அருவருப்பை வைப்பான் என்றார்.”
