2 Samuel 1
1 Now it happened that, after Saul died, David returned from the slaughter of Amalek, and he remained for two days at Ziklag.
௧சவுல் இறந்தபின்பு, தாவீது அமலேக்கியர்களை முறியடித்து, சிக்லாகு பட்டணத்துக்குத் திரும்பிவந்து, இரண்டு நாட்கள் அங்கே இருந்த பின்பு,
2 Then, on the third day, a man appeared, arriving from the camp of Saul, with his garments torn and dust sprinkled on his head. And when he came to David, he fell on his face, and he reverenced.
௨மூன்றாம் நாளிலே ஒரு மனிதன் சவுலின் முகாமிலிருந்து புறப்பட்டு, தன்னுடைய ஆடைகளைக் கிழித்துக்கொண்டு, தன்னுடைய தலையின்மேல் புழுதியைப் போட்டுக்கொண்டு, தாவீதிடம் வந்து, தரையிலே விழுந்து வணங்கினான்.
3 And David said to him, “Where have you come from?” And he said to him, “I have fled from the camp of Israel.”
௩தாவீது அவனைப் பார்த்து: நீ எங்கேயிருந்து வந்தாய் என்று கேட்டதற்கு, அவன்: இஸ்ரவேலின் இராணுவ முகாமிலிருந்து தப்பிவந்தேன் என்றான்.
4 And David said to him: “What is the word that has happened? Reveal it to me.” And he said: “The people have fled from the battle, and many of the people have fallen and died. Moreover, Saul and his son Jonathan have passed away.”
௪தாவீது அவனைப் பார்த்து: நடந்த செய்தி என்ன? சொல் என்று கேட்டதற்கு, அவன்: மக்கள் யுத்தத்தைவிட்டு ஓடிப்போனார்கள்; மக்களில் அநேகம் பேர் காயப்பட்டு இறந்துபோனார்கள்; சவுலும் அவருடைய மகனான யோனத்தானும் இறந்தார்கள் என்றான்.
5 And David said to the youth who was reporting to him, “How do you know that Saul and his son Jonathan have died?”
௫சவுலும் அவருடைய மகனான யோனத்தானும் இறந்துபோனது உனக்கு எப்படித் தெரியும் என்று தாவீது தனக்கு அதை அறிவித்த வாலிபனிடம் கேட்டதற்கு,
6 And the youth, who was reporting it to him, said: “I arrived by chance on mount Gilboa. And Saul was lying upon his spear. Then the chariots and horsemen drew near to him.
௬அந்த வாலிபன்: நான் தற்செயலாகக் கில்போவா மலைக்குப் போனேன்; அப்பொழுது இதோ, சவுல் தம்முடைய ஈட்டியின்மேல் சாய்ந்துகிடந்தார்; இரதங்களும் குதிரை வீரர்களும் அவரைப் பின்தொடர்ந்து நெருங்கினார்கள்.
7 And turning behind his back and seeing me, he called to me. And when I had responded, “I am here,”
௭அவர் திரும்பிப் பார்த்து: என்னைக் கண்டு கூப்பிட்டார்; அதற்கு நான்: இதோ, இருக்கிறேன் என்றேன்.
8 he said to me, “Who are you?” And I said to him, “I am an Amalekite.”
௮அப்பொழுது அவர்: நீ யார் என்று என்னைக் கேட்டார்; நான் அமலேக்கியன் என்று சொன்னேன்.
9 And he said to me: “Stand over me, and kill me. For anguish has taken hold of me, and still my whole life is in me.”
௯அவர் என்னை நோக்கி: நீ என் அருகில் வந்து நின்று, என்னைக் கொன்றுபோடு; இன்னும், என்னுடைய உயிர் முழுவதும் போகாததால் எனக்கு வேதனையாக இருக்கிறது என்றார்.
10 And standing over him, I killed him. For I knew that he was not able to live after the fall. And I took the diadem that was on his head, and the bracelet from his arm, and I have brought them here to you, my lord.”
௧0அப்பொழுது நான், அவர் விழுந்த பின்பு பிழைக்கமாட்டார் என்று நிச்சயித்து, அவருக்கு அருகில் போய் நின்று, அவரைக் கொன்றுபோட்டேன்; பின்பு அவருடைய தலையின்மேல் இருந்த கிரீடத்தையும் அவருடைய கையில் இருந்த காப்பையும் எடுத்துக்கொண்டு, அவைகளை இங்கே என்னுடைய ஆண்டவனிடம் கொண்டுவந்தேன் என்றான்.
11 Then David, taking hold of his garments, tore them, with all the men who were with him.
௧௧அப்பொழுது தாவீதும் அவனோடு இருந்த எல்லா மனிதர்களும் தங்களுடைய ஆடைகளைக் கிழித்துக்கொண்டு,
12 And they mourned, and wept, and fasted until evening, over Saul and over his son Jonathan, and over the people of the Lord and over the house of Israel, because they had fallen by the sword.
௧௨சவுலும், அவனுடைய மகனான யோனத்தானும், யெகோவாவுடைய மக்களும், இஸ்ரவேல் குடும்பத்தார்களும், பட்டயத்தால் மரித்து போனதால் புலம்பி அழுது மாலைவரை உபவாசத்தோடு இருந்தார்கள்.
13 And David said to the youth who had reported it to him, “Where are you from?” And he responded, “I am the son of a man who is a new arrival from the Amalekites.”
௧௩தாவீது அதைத் தனக்கு அறிவித்த வாலிபனைப் பார்த்து: நீ எந்த இடத்தைச் சேர்ந்தவன் என்று கேட்டதற்கு, அவன்: நான் அந்நிய தேசத்தானுடைய மகன், நான் அமலேக்கியன் என்றான்.
14 And David said to him, “Why were you not afraid to put forth your hand, so that you would kill the Christ of the Lord?”
௧௪தாவீது அவனை நோக்கி: யெகோவாவினால் அபிஷேகம் செய்தவரைக் கொன்றுபோடும்படி நீ உன்னுடைய கையை நீட்டப் பயப்படாமல் போனது என்ன என்று சொல்லி,
15 And calling one of his servants, David said, “Draw near and rush against him” And he struck him, and he died.
௧௫வாலிபர்களில் ஒருவனைக் கூப்பிட்டு, நீ அவன் அருகே போய், அவனைக் கொன்றுபோடு என்றான்; அவன் அமலேக்கியனை வெட்டினான்; அவன் இறந்தான்.
16 And David said to him: “Your blood is upon your own head. For your own mouth has spoken against you, saying: ‘I have killed the Christ of the Lord.’”
௧௬தாவீது அவனைப் பார்த்து: உன்னுடைய இரத்தப்பழி உன்னுடைய தலையின்மேல் இருக்கட்டும்; யெகோவா அபிஷேகம் செய்தவரை நான் கொன்றுபோட்டேன் என்று உன்னுடைய வாயே உனக்கு விரோதமான சாட்சி சொன்னது என்றான்.
17 Then David mourned a lamentation over Saul and over his son Jonathan, in this way.
௧௭தாவீது சவுலையும் அவனது மகன் யோனத்தானையும்குறித்து, துயரப்பாடலைப் பாடினான்.
18 (And he instructed that they should teach the sons of Judah the bow, just as it is written in the Book of the Just.) And he said: “Consider, O Israel, on behalf of those who are dead, wounded upon your heights:
௧௮(வில்வித்தையை யூதாவின் மகன்களுக்குக் கற்றுக்கொடுக்கும்படிக் கட்டளையிட்டான்; அது யாசேரின் புத்தகத்தில் எழுதியிருக்கிறது) அவன் பாடின துயரப்பாடலாவது.
19 The illustrious of Israel have been killed upon your mountains. How could the valiant have fallen?
௧௯இஸ்ரவேலின் புகழ்பெற்ற தலைவர்கள், உயர்ந்த மலைகளில் இறந்து போனர்கள்; பலசாலிகள் கொலைசெய்யப்பட்டுபோனார்கள்.
20 Do not choose to announce it in Gath, and do not announce it in the crossroads of Ashkelon. Otherwise, the daughters of the Philistines may rejoice; otherwise, the daughters of the uncircumcised may exult.
௨0பெலிஸ்தர்களின் மகள்கள் சந்தோஷப்படாதபடியும், விருத்தசேதனம் இல்லாதவர்களின் மகள்கள் கொண்டாடாதபடியும், அதைக் காத் பட்டணத்தில் அறிவிக்காமலும் அஸ்கலோனின் வீதிகளில் தெரிவிக்காமலும் இருங்கள்.
21 O mountains of Gilboa, let neither dew, nor rain fall over you, and may these not be the fields of the first-fruits. For in that place, the shield of the valiant was cast away, the shield of Saul, as if he had not been anointed with oil.
௨௧கில்போவா மலைகளே, உங்கள்மேல் பனியும் மழையும் பெய்யாமலும், காணிக்கைக்கு ஏற்ற பலன் தரும் வயல்கள் இருக்காமலும் போகட்டும்; அங்கே பெலசாலிகளுடைய கேடகம் அவமதிக்கப்பட்டது; சவுல் தைலத்தால் அபிஷேகம் செய்யப்படாதவர்போல அவருடைய கேடகமும் அவமதிக்கப்பட்டதே.
22 From the blood of the slain, from the fat of the strong, the arrow of Jonathan never turned back, and the sword of Saul did not return empty.
௨௨கொலைசெய்யப்பட்டவர்களின் இரத்தத்தைக் குடிக்காமலும், பெலசாலிகளின் கொழுப்பை சாப்பிடாமலும், யோனத்தானுடைய வில் பின்வாங்கினதில்லை; சவுலின் பட்டயம் வெறுமையாகத் திரும்பினதில்லை.
23 Saul and Jonathan, worthy to be loved, and stately in their life: even in death they were not divided. They were swifter than eagles, stronger than lions.
௨௩உயிரோடு இருக்கும்போது சவுலும் யோனத்தானும் ஒருவருக்கு ஒருவர் அன்பு காட்டி மகிழ்ச்சியாக இருந்தார்கள்; மரணத்திலும் பிரிந்துபோனதில்லை; கழுகுகளைவிட வேகமும், சிங்கங்களைவிட பலமும் உள்ளவர்களாக இருந்தார்கள்.
24 O daughters of Israel, weep over Saul, who clothed you with scarlet finery, who offered ornaments of gold for your adornment.
௨௪இஸ்ரவேலின் மகள்களே, உங்களுக்கு சிவந்த ஆடையை நேர்த்தியாக அணிவித்து, உங்கள் உடையின்மேல் பொன் ஆபரணங்களைப் பதித்த சவுலுக்காக அழுது புலம்புங்கள்.
25 How could the valiant have fallen in battle? How could Jonathan have been slain on the heights?
௨௫போர்க்களத்தில் பெலசாலிகள் விழுந்தார்களே. யோனத்தானே, உயரமான இடங்களில் இறந்துபோனாயே.
26 I grieve over you, my brother Jonathan: exceedingly stately, and worthy to be loved above the love of women. As a mother loves her only son, so also did I love you.
௨௬என்னுடைய சகோதரனான யோனத்தானே, உனக்காக நான் துயரப்படுகிறேன்; நீ எனக்கு மிகவும் இன்பமாக இருந்தாய்; உன்னுடைய அன்பு ஆச்சரியமாக இருந்தது; பெண்களின் அன்பை விட அதிகமாக இருந்தது.
27 How could the robust have fallen, and the weapons of war have perished?”
௨௭பெலசாலி வீரர்கள்கள் விழுந்துபோனார்களே; யுத்த ஆயுதங்கள் எல்லாம் அழிந்துபோனதே” என்று பாடினான்.
