2 Chronicles 23
1 Then in the seventh year, Jehoiada having been strengthened, he took the centurions, namely, Azariah, the son of Jeroham, and Ishmael, the son of Jehohanan, and also Azariah, the son of Obed, and Maaseiah, the son of Adaiah, and Elishaphat, the son of Zichri, and he formed a pact with them.
Und [2. Kön. 11,4] im siebten Jahre stärkte sich [O. faßte Mut] Jojada und verband die Obersten über hundert, Asarja, den Sohn Jerochams, und Ismael, den Sohn Jochanans, und Asarja, den Sohn Obeds, und Maaseja, den Sohn Adajas, und Elisaphat, den Sohn Sikris, mit sich in einem Bunde.
2 And traveling through Judah, they gathered together the Levites from all of the cities of Judah, and the leaders of the families of Israel, and they went to Jerusalem.
Und sie zogen umher in Juda und versammelten die Leviten aus allen Städten Judas, und die Häupter der Väter [d. h. die Stamm- oder Familienhäupter] von Israel; und sie kamen nach Jerusalem.
3 Then the entire multitude formed a pact with the king, in the house of God. And Jehoiada said to them: “Behold, the son of the king shall reign, just as the Lord has said concerning the sons of David.
Und die ganze Versammlung machte im Hause Gottes einen Bund mit dem König. Und Jojada sprach zu ihnen: Siehe, der Sohn des Königs soll König sein, so wie Jehova von den Söhnen Davids geredet hat.
4 Therefore, this is the word that you shall do:
Dies ist es, was ihr tun sollt: Ein Drittel von euch, die ihr am Sabbath antretet, von den Priestern und von den Leviten, soll Türhüter der Schwellen sein;
5 One third part of you who arrive on the Sabbath, priests, and Levites, and porters, shall be at the gates. Truly, one third part shall be at the house of the king. And one third shall be at the gate which is called the Foundation. Yet truly, let all the remainder of the common people be in the courts of the house of the Lord.
und ein Drittel soll im Hause des Königs sein; und ein Drittel am Tore Jesod; [d. h. Grundtor] und alles Volk in den Höfen des Hauses Jehovas.
6 Let no one else enter into the house of the Lord, except the priests, and those from the Levites who are ministering. These alone may enter, for they have been sanctified. And let all the remainder of the common people observe the watches of the Lord.
Und es soll niemand in das Haus Jehovas hineingehen, als nur die Priester und die diensttuenden Leviten; sie sollen hineingehen, denn sie sind heilig. Und alles Volk soll die Vorschriften Jehovas beobachten.
7 Then let the Levites encircle the king, each one having his weapons. And if anyone else will have entered into the temple, let him be slain. And may they be with the king, both entering and departing.”
Und die Leviten sollen den König rings umgeben, ein jeder mit seinen Waffen in seiner Hand; und wer in das Haus hineingeht, soll getötet werden; und ihr sollt bei dem König sein, wenn er eingeht und wenn er ausgeht.
8 Then the Levites, and all of Judah, acted in accord with all that the high priest Jehoiada had instructed. And each of them took the men who were under him, and who were arriving by the course of the Sabbath, with those who had fulfilled the Sabbath and who were about to depart. For indeed the high priest Jehoiada had not permitted the companies to depart, which were accustomed to replace one another each week.
Und die Leviten und ganz Juda taten nach allem, was der Priester Jojada geboten hatte; und sie [d. h. die Leviten] nahmen ein jeder seine Männer, die am Sabbath antretenden samt den am Sabbath abtretenden; denn der Priester Jojada hatte die Abteilungen nicht entlassen.
9 And Jehoiada, the priest, gave to the centurions the lances and round shields and crescent shields of king David, which he had dedicated in the house of the Lord.
Und der Priester Jojada gab den Obersten über hundert die Speere und die Tartschen und die Schilde, welche dem König David gehört hatten, die im Hause Gottes waren.
10 And he positioned all the people, holding short swords, from the right part of the temple to the left part of the temple, before the altar and the temple, all around the king.
Und er stellte alles Volk auf, und zwar einen jeden mit seiner Waffe in seiner Hand, von der rechten Seite des Hauses bis zur linken Seite des Hauses, gegen den Altar und gegen das Haus hin, rings um den König.
11 And they led out the son of the king. And they imposed the diadem on him, and the testimony. And they gave him the law to hold in his hand. And they appointed him as king. Also, the high priest Jehoiada and his sons anointed him. And they prayed for him, and said, “May the king live!”
Und sie führten den Sohn des Königs heraus und setzten ihm die Krone auf und gaben ihm das Zeugnis, und sie machten ihn zum König; und Jojada und seine Söhne salbten ihn und riefen: Es lebe der König!
12 And when Athaliah had heard it, specifically the sound of running and the praising of the king, she entered to the people in the temple of the Lord.
Und als Athalja das Geschrei des Volkes hörte, das herzulief und den König pries, kam sie zu dem Volke in das Haus Jehovas.
13 And when she had seen the king standing upon the step at the entrance, and the leaders and companies around him, and all the people of the land rejoicing, and sounding the trumpets, and playing on instruments of various kinds, and the voice of those who were praising, she tore her garments, and she said: “Treason! Treason!”
Und sie sah: und siehe, der König stand auf seinem Standorte am Eingang, und die Obersten und die Trompeter bei dem König; und alles Volk des Landes war fröhlich und stieß in die Trompeten; und die Sänger waren da mit Musikinstrumenten und leiteten den Lobgesang. Da zerriß Athalja ihre Kleider und rief: Verschwörung, Verschwörung!
14 Then the high priest Jehoiada, going out to the centurions and to the leaders of the army, said to them: “Lead her away, beyond the borders of the temple. And let her be put to death outside, with the sword.” And the priest instructed that she should not be killed in the house of the Lord.
Und der Priester Jojada ließ die Obersten über hundert, die über das Heer bestellt waren, heraustreten, und sprach zu ihnen: Führet sie hinaus außerhalb der Reihen, [O. zwischen den Reihen hindurch] und wer ihr folgt, soll mit dem Schwerte getötet werden! Denn der Priester sprach: Ihr sollt sie nicht in dem Hause Jehovas töten.
15 And they laid hands on her neck. And when she had entered the gate for the horses at the king’s house, they put her to death there.
Und sie machten ihr Platz, und sie ging durch den Eingang des Roßtores in das Haus des Königs; und sie töteten sie daselbst.
16 Then Jehoiada formed a covenant between himself and the entire people, and the king, so that they would be the people of the Lord.
Und Jojada machte einen Bund zwischen sich und dem ganzen Volke und dem König, daß sie das Volk Jehovas sein sollten.
17 And so, all the people entered into the house of Baal, and they destroyed it. And they broke apart his altars and idols. Also, they put to death Mattan, the priest of Baal, before the altars.
Da ging alles Volk in das Haus des Baal und riß es nieder, und sie zerschlugen seine Altäre und seine Bilder; und Mattan, den Priester des Baal, töteten sie vor den Altären.
18 Then Jehoiada appointed overseers in the house of the Lord, under the hands of the priests and Levites, whom David had distributed to the house of the Lord so that they might offer holocausts to the Lord, just as it was written in the law of Moses, with gladness and singing, in accord with the disposition of David.
Und Jojada legte die Ämter des Hauses Jehovas in die Hand der Priester, der Leviten, welche David über das Haus Jehovas abgeteilt hatte, um die Brandopfer Jehovas zu opfern, wie in dem Gesetz Moses geschrieben steht, mit Freuden und mit Gesang, nach der Anweisung Davids.
19 Also, he appointed porters at the gates of the house of the Lord, so that whoever was unclean for any reason would not enter.
Und er stellte die Torhüter an die Tore des Hauses Jehovas, daß keiner hineinginge, der irgendwie unrein wäre.
20 And he took the centurions, and the most valiant men, and the leaders of the people, and all the common people of the land, and they set out to descend to the king, from the house of the Lord, and to enter through the middle of the upper gate, to the house of the king. And they placed him on the royal throne.
Und er nahm die Obersten über hundert und die Vornehmen und die Gebieter im Volke, und alles Volk des Landes, und führte den König aus dem Hause Jehovas hinab, und sie kamen durch das obere Tor in das Haus des Königs; und sie setzten den König auf den Thron des Königreichs.
21 And all the people of the land were rejoicing, and the city was quieted. But Athaliah was slain with the sword.
Und alles Volk des Landes freute sich, und die Stadt hatte Ruhe. Athalja aber hatten sie mit dem Schwerte getötet.
