< 2 Chronicles 17 >

1 Then Jehoshaphat, his son, reigned in his place. And he grew strong against Israel.
Josaphat, fis li a te devni wa nan plas li, e li te fè pozisyon li sou Israël byen fèm.
2 And he appointed numbers of soldiers in all the cities of Judah that had been fortified with walls. And he placed garrisons in the land of Judah, and in the cities of Ephraim that his father Asa had seized.
Li te mete sòlda nan tout vil fòtifye Juda yo, e li te fè ganizon militè nan peyi Juda avèk nan vil Éphraïm ke papa li, Asa te kaptire yo.
3 And the Lord was with Jehoshaphat, because he walked in the first ways of his father, David. And he did not trust in the Baals,
SENYÈ a te avèk Josaphat akoz li te swiv egzanp a zansèt li a, David, nan premye jou li yo, e li pa t chache Baal yo,
4 but in the God of his father. And he advanced in his precepts, and not according to the sins of Israel.
men li te chache Bondye a zansèt li yo. Li te swiv kòmandman li yo, e li pa t aji jan Israël te fè a.
5 And the Lord confirmed the kingdom in his hand. And all of Judah gave gifts to Jehoshaphat. And innumerable riches were brought to him, and much glory.
Pou sa, SENYÈ a te etabli wayòm nan sou kontwòl li, tout Juda te pote pèyman bay Josaphat e li te vin gen gwo richès avèk lonè.
6 And when his heart had taken courage because of the ways of the Lord, he now also took away the high places and the sacred groves from Judah.
Li te fyè nan chemen SENYÈ a, e ankò li te rache wo plas yo avèk Asherim yo soti nan Juda.
7 Then, in the third year of his reign, he sent Benhail, and Obadiah, and Zechariah, and Nethanel, and Micaiah, from among his leaders, so that they might teach in the cites of Judah.
Konsa, nan twazyèm ane règn li a, li te voye reprezantan li yo, chèf Ben-Haïl yo, Abdias, Zacharie, Nethaneel, avèk Michée pou enstwi nan vil a Juda yo;
8 And with them were the Levites Shemaiah and Nethaniah and Zebadiah, and also Asahel and Shemiramoth and Jehonathan, and the Levites Adonijah and Tobijah and Tobadonijah. And with them were the priests Elishama and Jehoram.
epi avèk yo Levit yo, Schemaeja, Nethania, Zebadia, Adonija, Tobija ak Tob-Adonija; epi avèk yo, prèt yo, Élischama avèk Joram.
9 And they were teaching the people in Judah, having with them the book of the law of the Lord. And they were traveling through all the cities of Judah, and were instructing the people.
Yo te enstwi Juda avèk liv lalwa SENYÈ a ke yo te genyen avèk yo. Konsa, yo te ale toupatou nan tout vil Juda yo pou te enstwi pami pèp la.
10 And so, the fear of the Lord fell upon all the kingdoms of the lands which were around Judah. And they did not dare to make war against Jehoshaphat.
Alò, lakrent SENYÈ a te sou tout wayòm ki te antoure Juda yo, jiskaske yo pa t fè lagè kont Josaphat.
11 Moreover, the Philistines carried gifts to Jehoshaphat, and a tribute in silver. Also, the Arabians brought cattle: seven thousand seven hundred rams, and the same number of he-goats.
Kèk nan Filisten yo te pote kado avèk lò kòm pèyman bay Josaphat. Arabyen yo tou te pote bann bèt ba li, sèt-mil-sèt-san belye ak sèt-mil-sèt-san mal kabrit.
12 Therefore, Jehoshaphat increased and was magnified, even on high. And in Judah, he built houses in the likeness of towers, and walled cities.
Josaphat te vin grandi de plizanplis e li te bati fò avèk vil depo nan Juda.
13 And he prepared many works in the cities of Judah. Also, there were men experienced in warfare in Jerusalem,
Li te gen anpil depo nan vil a Juda yo ak gèrye yo, mesye ki plen kouraj Jérusalem yo.
14 and this is the number of them, by each of the houses and families. In Judah, the leader of the army was Adnah, the commander; and with him were three hundred thousand very experienced men.
Men kontwòl selon lakay a papa zansèt yo: nan Juda, chèf a dè milye yo, Adna, chèf la avèk twa-san-mil mesye plen kouraj;
15 After him, Jehohanan was the leader; and with him were two hundred eighty thousand.
epi akote li, Jochanan, chèf la, avèk de-san-katre-ven-mil mesye plen kouraj;
16 Also after him, there was Amasiah, the son of Zichri, who was consecrated to the Lord; and with him were two hundred thousand strong men.
epi akote li, Amasia, fis a Zicri a, ki te konsakre volontèman a SENYÈ a, avèk de-san-mil mesye plen kouraj.
17 Following him, there was Eliada, who was experienced in battle; and with him were two hundred thousand, holding bow and shield.
Pou Benjamin: Éliada, yon nonm plen kouraj, avèk de-san-mil mesye lame avèk banza ak boukliye defans,
18 Then too, after him, there was Jehozabad; and with him were one hundred eighty thousand lightly-armed soldiers.
epi akote li, Zozobad, avèk san-katreven-mil mesye pou fè lagè.
19 All these were at the hand of the king, aside from the others, whom he had positioned in the walled cities, in all of Judah.
Se te sila ki te nan sèvis wa yo, yo pa menm konte sila ke wa a te pozisyone nan tout vil fòtifye pami tout Juda yo.
