1 Chronicles 28
1 And so David called together all the leaders of Israel, the rulers of the tribes, and those in charge of the companies, who were ministering to the king, and also the tribunes and centurions, and those in charge of the substance and possessions of the king, and his sons, with the eunuchs and the powerful and those most experienced in the army, at Jerusalem.
Og David kalte alle Israels høvdinger sammen til Jerusalem, både stammenes høvdinger og høvdingene over de hær-delinger som var i kongens tjeneste, og høvedsmennene over tusen og over hundre og opsynsmennene over alle kongens og hans sønners eiendeler og hjorder og dessuten hoffmennene og heltene og alle andre gjæve menn.
2 And when the king had risen up and was standing, he said: “Listen to me, my brothers and my people. I thought that I would build a house, in which the ark of the covenant of the Lord, the footstool of our God, might rest. And so I prepared everything for its building.
Og kong David reiste sig fra sitt sete og sa: Hør på mig, mine brødre og mitt folk! Jeg hadde i sinne å bygge et hus til hvilested for Herrens pakts-ark og for vår Guds fotskammel, og jeg har samlet forråd til å bygge;
3 But God said to me: ‘You shall not build a house to my name, because you are a man of war, and have shed blood.’
men Gud sa til mig: Du skal ikke bygge hus for mitt navn, for du er krigsmann og har utøst blod.
4 Now the Lord God of Israel chose me, out of the entire house of my father, so that I would be king over Israel forever. For from Judah he chose leaders; then from the house of Judah he chose the house of my father; and from the sons of my father, it pleased him to choose me as king over all of Israel.
Herren, Israels Gud, har av hele min fars hus utvalgt mig til å være konge over Israel for all tid; for Juda utvalgte han til å være fyrste, og av Judas hus min fars hus, og blandt min fars sønner hadde han behag i mig, så han gjorde mig til konge over hele Israel.
5 Then too, among my sons (for the Lord has given me many sons) he chose Solomon my son, so that he would sit upon the throne of the kingdom of the Lord, over Israel.
Og av alle mine sønner - for Herren har gitt mig mange sønner - utvalgte han min sønn Salomo til å sitte på Herrens kongetrone og råde over Israel.
6 And he said to me: ‘Solomon your son shall build my house and my courts. For I have chosen him to be to me as a son, and I will be to him as a father.
Og han sa til mig: Din sønn Salomo, han er den som skal bygge mitt hus og mine forgårder; for jeg har utvalgt ham til å være min sønn, og jeg vil være hans far,
7 And I will make firm his kingdom, even unto eternity, if he will persevere in doing my precepts and judgments, as also today.’
og jeg vil grunnfeste hans kongedømme til evig tid, dersom han trofast blir ved å holde mine bud og mine lover, således som han nu gjør.
8 Now therefore, before the entire assembly of Israel, in the hearing of our God, keep and seek all the commandments of the Lord our God, so that you may possess the good land, and may bequeath it to your sons after you, even forever.
Og nu står jeg her, hvor hele Israel, Herrens menighet, ser mig, og vår Gud hører mig, og jeg sier: Hold alle Herrens, eders Guds bud og gransk dem vel, så I kan få eie dette gode land og la det gå i arv til eders barn efter eder til evig tid!
9 And as for you, my son Solomon, know the God of your father, and serve him with a perfect heart and a willing mind. For the Lord searches all hearts, and understands the thoughts of all minds. If you seek him, you will find him. But if you abandon him, he will cast you aside for eternity.
Og du, min sønn Salomo, lær din fars Gud å kjenne og tjen ham med udelt hjerte og med villig sjel! For Herren ransaker alle hjerter og forstår alle menneskers tanker og råd; dersom du søker ham, skal han la sig finne av dig, men dersom du forlater ham, skal han forkaste dig for alltid.
10 Now therefore, since the Lord has chosen you, so that you would build the house of the Sanctuary, be strengthened and accomplish it.”
Så se nu til, for Herren har utvalgt dig til å bygge et hus til helligdom; vær frimodig og gå til verket!
11 Then David gave to his son Solomon a description of the portico, and the temple, and the storerooms, and the upper floor, and the innermost rooms, and the house of propitiation,
Så gav David sin sønn Salomo et billede av forhallen og tempelbygningene, skattkammerne, loftsrummene, de indre rum og rummet for nådestolen,
12 and indeed also of all the courts that he had planned, and the outer rooms on all sides, for the treasuries of the house of the Lord, and for the treasuries of the holy things,
og et billede av alt det som i ånden stod for ham, av forgårdene til Herrens hus og alle kammerne rundt omkring for skattene som hørte til Guds hus, og for de helligede ting
13 and for the divisions of the priests and the Levites: concerning all the works of the house of the Lord and all the items in the ministry of the temple of the Lord.
og for prestenes og levittenes skifter og for alt arbeid ved tjenesten i Herrens hus og for alle kar til tjenesten i Herrens hus,
14 There was gold by weight for every vessel of the ministry, and also silver by weight for the diversity of vessels and equipment.
og et billede av det som skulde være av gull, med opgave over gullets vekt, av alle de kar som hørte til hver enkelt tjeneste, og av alle sølvkarene efter vekt, av alle de kar som hørte til hver enkelt tjeneste.
15 Then too, he distributed gold for the lampstands and their lamps, according to the measure of each of the lampstands with their lamps. Similarly also, he distributed silver by weight for the silver lampstands with their lamps, according to the diversity of their measure.
Og han opgav ham vekten på gull-lysestakene med tilhørende lamper av gull - vekten på hver enkelt lysestake med tilhørende lamper - og på sølvlysestakene - vekten på hver enkelt lysestake med tilhørende lamper - alt efter det hver lysestake skulde brukes til,
16 Also, he gave gold for the tables of the presence, according to the diversity of the tables; similarly too, he gave silver for the other tables of silver.
og vekten på gullet til skuebrøds-bordene - til hvert enkelt bord - og på sølvet til sølvbordene.
17 Also, he distributed from the purest gold for the small hooks and the bowls and the censors, as well as for the little lions of gold, in accord with the precise measure of the weight, for lion after lion. Similarly too, for the lions of silver, he set aside a different weight of silver.
Og han gav ham et billede av gaflene og skålene til å sprenge blod med og kannene av rent gull og av gullbegerne efter hvert begers vekt og av sølvbegerne efter hvert begers vekt
18 Then, for the altar on which the incense was burned, he gave the purest gold. And from the same he made the likeness of the chariot of the Cherubim, with extended wings, which is veiling the ark of the covenant of the Lord.
og av røkoffer-alteret av renset gull efter vekt og et billede av vognen, det vil si kjerubene av gull, som holdt vingene utbredt og dekket over Herrens pakts-ark.
19 “All these things,” he said, “came to me written by the hand of the Lord, so that I would understand all the works of the pattern.”
Om alt dette sa David, om alt som skal gjøres efter billedet, har Herren oplyst mig ved et skrift fra sin hånd.
20 David also said to his son Solomon: “Act manfully, and be strengthened, and carry it out. You should not be afraid, and you should not be dismayed. For the Lord my God will be with you, and he will not send you away, nor will he abandon you, until you have perfected the entire work of the ministry of the house of the Lord.
Så sa David til sin sønn Salomo: Vær frimodig og sterk og gå til verket, frykt ikke og vær ikke redd! For Gud Herren, min Gud, er med dig; han vil ikke slippe dig og ikke forlate dig, før alt arbeid for tjenesten ved Herrens hus er fullført.
21 Behold, the divisions of the priests and the Levites, for every ministry of the house of the Lord, are standing before you. And they have been prepared, and so they know, both the leaders and the people, how to carry out all your precepts.”
Se, her er prestenes og levittenes skifter, som skal utføre all tjeneste i Guds hus, og til alt arbeid har du folk hos dig som alle er villige og kyndige i alt slags arbeid, og høvdingene og hele folket er rede til å gjøre alt det du sier.
