1 Chronicles 28
1 And so David called together all the leaders of Israel, the rulers of the tribes, and those in charge of the companies, who were ministering to the king, and also the tribunes and centurions, and those in charge of the substance and possessions of the king, and his sons, with the eunuchs and the powerful and those most experienced in the army, at Jerusalem.
Or Davide convocò a Gerusalemme tutti i capi d’Israele, i capi delle tribù, i capi delle divisioni al servizio del re, i capi di migliaia, i capi di centinaia, gli amministratori di tutti i beni e del bestiame appartenente al re ed ai suoi figliuoli, insieme con gli ufficiali di corte, cogli uomini prodi e tutti i valorosi.
2 And when the king had risen up and was standing, he said: “Listen to me, my brothers and my people. I thought that I would build a house, in which the ark of the covenant of the Lord, the footstool of our God, might rest. And so I prepared everything for its building.
Poi Davide, alzatosi e stando in piedi, disse: “Ascoltatemi, fratelli miei e popolo mio! Io avevo in cuore di edificare una casa di riposo per l’arca del patto dell’Eterno e per lo sgabello de’ piedi del nostro Dio, e avevo fatto dei preparativi per la fabbrica.
3 But God said to me: ‘You shall not build a house to my name, because you are a man of war, and have shed blood.’
Ma Dio mi disse: Tu non edificherai una casa al mio nome, perché sei uomo di guerra e hai sparso del sangue.
4 Now the Lord God of Israel chose me, out of the entire house of my father, so that I would be king over Israel forever. For from Judah he chose leaders; then from the house of Judah he chose the house of my father; and from the sons of my father, it pleased him to choose me as king over all of Israel.
L’Eterno, l’Iddio d’Israele, ha scelto me, in tutta la casa di mio padre, perché io fossi re d’Israele in perpetuo; poich’egli ha scelto Giuda, come principe; e, nella casa di Giuda, la casa di mio padre; e tra i figliuoli di mio padre gli è piaciuto di far me re di tutto Israele;
5 Then too, among my sons (for the Lord has given me many sons) he chose Solomon my son, so that he would sit upon the throne of the kingdom of the Lord, over Israel.
e fra tutti i miei figliuoli giacché l’Eterno mi ha dati molti figliuoli egli ha scelto il figliuol mio Salomone, perché segga sul trono dell’Eterno, che regna sopra Israele.
6 And he said to me: ‘Solomon your son shall build my house and my courts. For I have chosen him to be to me as a son, and I will be to him as a father.
Egli m’ha detto: Salomone, tuo figliuolo, sarà quegli che edificherà la mia casa e i miei cortili; poiché io l’ho scelto per mio figliuolo, ed io gli sarò padre.
7 And I will make firm his kingdom, even unto eternity, if he will persevere in doing my precepts and judgments, as also today.’
E stabilirò saldamente il suo regno in perpetuo, s’egli sarà perseverante nella pratica de’ miei comandamenti e de’ miei precetti, com’è oggi.
8 Now therefore, before the entire assembly of Israel, in the hearing of our God, keep and seek all the commandments of the Lord our God, so that you may possess the good land, and may bequeath it to your sons after you, even forever.
Or dunque in presenza di tutto Israele, dell’assemblea dell’Eterno, e dinanzi al nostro Dio che ci ascolta, io v’esorto ad osservare e a prendere a cuore tutti i comandamenti dell’Eterno, ch’è il vostro Dio, affinché possiate rimanere in possesso di questo buon paese, e lasciarlo in eredità ai vostri figliuoli, dopo di voi, in perpetuo.
9 And as for you, my son Solomon, know the God of your father, and serve him with a perfect heart and a willing mind. For the Lord searches all hearts, and understands the thoughts of all minds. If you seek him, you will find him. But if you abandon him, he will cast you aside for eternity.
E tu, Salomone, figliuol mio, riconosci l’Iddio di tuo padre, e servilo con cuore integro e con animo volenteroso; poiché l’Eterno scruta tutti i cuori, e penetra tutti i disegni e tutti i pensieri. Se tu lo cerchi, egli si lascerà trovare da te; ma, se lo abbandoni, egli ti rigetterà in perpetuo.
10 Now therefore, since the Lord has chosen you, so that you would build the house of the Sanctuary, be strengthened and accomplish it.”
Considera ora che l’Eterno ha scelto te per edificare una casa, che serva da santuario; sii forte, e mettiti all’opra!”
11 Then David gave to his son Solomon a description of the portico, and the temple, and the storerooms, and the upper floor, and the innermost rooms, and the house of propitiation,
Allora Davide diede a Salomone suo figliuolo il piano del portico del tempio e degli edifizi, delle stanze dei tesori, delle stanze superiori, delle camere interne e del luogo per il propiziatorio,
12 and indeed also of all the courts that he had planned, and the outer rooms on all sides, for the treasuries of the house of the Lord, and for the treasuries of the holy things,
e il piano di tutto quello che aveva in mente relativamente ai cortili della casa dell’Eterno, a tutte le camere all’intorno, ai tesori della casa di Dio, ai tesori delle cose consacrate,
13 and for the divisions of the priests and the Levites: concerning all the works of the house of the Lord and all the items in the ministry of the temple of the Lord.
alle classi dei sacerdoti e dei Leviti, a tutto quello che concerneva il servizio della casa dell’Eterno, e a tutti gli utensili che dovean servire alla casa dell’Eterno.
14 There was gold by weight for every vessel of the ministry, and also silver by weight for the diversity of vessels and equipment.
Gli diede il modello degli utensili d’oro, col relativo peso d’oro per tutti gli utensili d’ogni specie di servizi, e il modello di tutti gli utensili d’argento, col relativo peso d’argento per tutti gli utensili d’ogni specie di servizi.
15 Then too, he distributed gold for the lampstands and their lamps, according to the measure of each of the lampstands with their lamps. Similarly also, he distributed silver by weight for the silver lampstands with their lamps, according to the diversity of their measure.
Gli diede l’indicazione del peso dei candelabri d’oro e delle loro lampade d’oro, col peso d’ogni candelabro e delle sue lampade, e l’indicazione del peso dei candelabri d’argento, col peso d’ogni candelabro e delle sue lampade, secondo l’uso al quale ogni candelabro era destinato.
16 Also, he gave gold for the tables of the presence, according to the diversity of the tables; similarly too, he gave silver for the other tables of silver.
Gli diede l’indicazione del peso dell’oro necessario per ognuna delle tavole dei pani della presentazione, e dei peso dell’argento per le tavole d’argento;
17 Also, he distributed from the purest gold for the small hooks and the bowls and the censors, as well as for the little lions of gold, in accord with the precise measure of the weight, for lion after lion. Similarly too, for the lions of silver, he set aside a different weight of silver.
gli diede ugualmente l’indicazione del peso dell’oro puro per i forchettoni, per i bacini e per i calici; e l’indicazione del peso dell’oro per ciascuna delle coppe d’oro e del peso dell’argento per ciascuna delle coppe d’argento;
18 Then, for the altar on which the incense was burned, he gave the purest gold. And from the same he made the likeness of the chariot of the Cherubim, with extended wings, which is veiling the ark of the covenant of the Lord.
e l’indicazione del peso necessario d’oro purificato per l’altare dei profumi, e il modello del carro ossia dei cherubini d’oro che stendevano le ali e coprivano l’arca del patto dell’Eterno.
19 “All these things,” he said, “came to me written by the hand of the Lord, so that I would understand all the works of the pattern.”
“Tutto questo”, disse Davide, “tutto il piano da eseguire, te lo do per iscritto, giacché la mano dell’Eterno, che è stata sopra me, m’ha dato l’intelligenza necessaria”.
20 David also said to his son Solomon: “Act manfully, and be strengthened, and carry it out. You should not be afraid, and you should not be dismayed. For the Lord my God will be with you, and he will not send you away, nor will he abandon you, until you have perfected the entire work of the ministry of the house of the Lord.
Davide disse ancora a Salomone, suo figliuolo: “Sii forte, fatti animo, mettiti all’opra; non temere, non ti sgomentare; poiché l’Eterno Iddio, il mio Dio, sarà teco; egli non ti lascerà e non ti abbandonerà fino a tanto che tutta l’opera per il servizio della casa dell’Eterno sia compiuta.
21 Behold, the divisions of the priests and the Levites, for every ministry of the house of the Lord, are standing before you. And they have been prepared, and so they know, both the leaders and the people, how to carry out all your precepts.”
Ed ecco le classi dei sacerdoti e dei Leviti per tutto il servizio della casa di Dio; e tu hai presso di te, per ogni lavoro, ogni sorta di uomini di buona volontà e abili in ogni specie di servizio; e i capi e tutto il popolo sono pronti ad eseguire tutti i tuoi comandi”.
