< Psalms 89 >

1 [A Psalm] of instruction for Aetham the Israelite. I will sing of your mercies, O Lord, for ever: I will declare your truth with my mouth to all generations.
Endagaano ya Katonda ne Dawudi. Nnaayimbanga ku kwagala kwo okungi, Ayi Mukama, emirembe gyonna. Nnaatenderezanga obwesigwa bwo n’akamwa kange, bumanyibwe ab’emirembe gyonna.
2 For you have said, Mercy shall be built up for ever: your truth shall be established in the heavens.
Ddala ddala nnaategeezanga nti okwagala kwo tekuggwaawo ennaku zonna; n’obwesigwa bwo bunywevu ng’eggulu.
3 I made a covenant with my chosen ones, I sware to David my servant.
Nakola endagaano n’omulonde wange; nalayirira omuweereza wange Dawudi nti,
4 I will establish your seed for ever, and build up your throne to all generations. (Pause)
“Ezadde lyo nnaalinywezanga ennaku zonna, era entebe yo ey’obwakabaka nnaaginywezanga emirembe gyonna.”
5 The heavens shall declare your wonders, O Lord; and your truth in the assembly of the saints.
Eggulu linaatenderezanga ebyamagero byo n’obwesigwa bwo, Ayi Mukama, mu kibiina ky’abatukuvu bo.
6 For who in the heavens shall be compared to the Lord? and who shall be likened to the Lord amongst the sons of God?
Kale, mu ggulu waggulu, ani ageraageranyizika ne Mukama? Ani afaanana nga Mukama, mu abo ababeera mu ggulu?
7 God is glorified in the council of the saints; great and terrible towards all that are round about him.
Katonda atiibwa nnyo mu lukiiko olw’abatukuvu; era wa ntiisa okusinga bonna abamwetooloola.
8 O Lord God of hosts, who is like to you? you are mighty, O Lord, and your truth is round about you.
Ayi Mukama Katonda ow’Eggye, ani akufaanana? Oli wa buyinza, Ayi Mukama, ojjudde obwesigwa.
9 You rule the power of the sea; and you calm the tumult of its waves.
Ggwe ofuga amalala g’ennyanja; amayengo gaayo bwe geekuluumulula ogakkakkanya.
10 You has brought down the proud as one that is slain; and with the arm of your power you has scattered your enemies.
Lakabu wamubetentera ddala; abalabe bo n’obasaasaanya n’omukono gwo ogw’amaanyi.
11 The heavens are your, and the earth is your: you have founded the world, and the fullness of it.
Eggulu liryo, n’ensi yiyo; ensi yonna gwe wagitonda ne byonna ebigirimu.
12 You have created the north and the west: Thabor and Hermon shall rejoice in your name.
Watonda obukiikakkono n’obukiikaddyo; ensozi Taboli ne Kerumooni zitendereza erinnya lyo.
13 Your is the mighty arm: let your hand be strengthened, let your right hand be exalted.
Oli wa buyinza bungi nnyo; omukono gwo gwa maanyi, omukono gwo ogwa ddyo gunaagulumizibwanga.
14 Justice and judgement are the establishment of your throne: mercy and truth shall go before your face.
Obutuukirivu n’obwenkanya gwe musingi gw’obwakabaka bwo. Okwagala n’obwesigwa bye binaakukulemberanga.
15 Blessed is the people that knows the joyful sound: they shall walk, O Lord, in the light of your countenance.
Balina omukisa abantu abamanyi okukutendereza Mukama n’amaloboozi ag’essanyu; Ayi Mukama, banaatambuliranga mu ssanyu lyo.
16 And in your name shall they rejoice all the day: and in your righteousness shall they be exalted.
Banaasanyukiranga mu linnya lyo okuzibya obudde, n’obutuukirivu bwo banaabugulumizanga.
17 For you are the boast of their strength; and in your good pleasure shall our horn be exalted,
Kubanga gw’obawa amaanyi ne bafuna ekitiibwa. Olw’okwagala kwo otutuusa ku buwanguzi olw’ekisa kyo.
18 for [our] help is of the Lord; and of the Holy One of Israel, our king.
Ddala ddala, Mukama ye ngabo yaffe, Omutukuvu wa Isirayiri kabaka waffe.
19 Then you spoke in vision to your children, and said, I have laid help on a mighty one; I have exalted one chosen out of my people.
Mu biro biri eby’edda wayogera n’omuweereza wo omwesigwa mu kwolesebwa nti, Ngulumizizza omuzira ow’amaanyi; ngulumizizza omuvubuka okuva mu bantu abaabulijjo.
20 I have found David my servant; I have anointed him by [my] holy mercy.
Nalaba Dawudi, omuweereza wange; ne mufukako amafuta gange amatukuvu okuba kabaka.
21 For my hand shall support him; and mine arm shall strengthen him.
Nnaamukulemberanga, n’omukono gwange gunaamunywezanga.
22 The enemy shall have no advantage against him; and the son of transgression shall not hurt him again.
Tewaliba mulabe we alimuwangula, so n’aboonoonyi tebaamunyigirizenga.
23 And I will hew down his foes before him, and put to flight those that hate him.
Abalabe be n’abamukyawa ndibamerengula, n’amaggye agamulwanyisa ndigabetenta.
24 But my truth and my mercy shall be with him; and in my name shall his horn be exalted.
Obwesigwa bwange n’okwagala kwange kunaabanga naye, ne mu linnya lyange aneeyongeranga okuba ow’amaanyi.
25 And I will set his hand in the sea, and his right hand in the rivers.
Alifuga okuva ku migga okutuuka ku nnyanja ennene.
26 He shall call upon me, [saying], You are my Father, my God, and the helper of my salvation.
Anankowoolanga ng’agamba nti, Ggwe Kitange era Katonda wange, ggwe Lwazi olw’Obulokozi bwange.
27 And I will make him [my] firstborn, higher than the kings of the earth.
Ndimufuula omwana wange omubereberye, era kabaka asinga okugulumizibwa mu bakabaka bonna ab’ensi.
28 I will keep my mercy for him for ever, and my covenant [shall be] firm with him.
Okwagala kwange kunaabeeranga naye ennaku zonna; n’endagaano gye nkoze naye teeremenga kutuukirira.
29 And I will establish his seed for ever and ever, and his throne as the days of heaven.
Ezzadde lye teririggwaawo emirembe gyonna, n’obwakabaka bunaavanga mu kika kye ennaku zonna.
30 If his children should forsake my law, and walk not in my judgements;
Abaana be bwe banaanyoomanga amateeka gange, ne batagoberera biragiro byange;
31 if they should profane my ordinances, and not keep my commandments;
bwe banaamenyanga ebiragiro byange, ne batagondera mateeka gange,
32 I will visit their transgressions with a rod, and their sins with scourges.
ndibabonereza n’omuggo olw’ebibi byabwe, ne mbakuba emiggo olw’ebyonoono byabwe.
33 But my mercy I will not utterly remove from him, nor wrong my truth.
Naye ssirirekayo kumwagala, wadde okumenyawo obwesigwa bwange gy’ali.
34 Neither will I by any means profane my covenant; and I will not make void the things that proceed out of my lips.
Sigenda kulemwa kutuukiriza ndagaano yange, wadde okukyusa ku ebyo akamwa kange bye koogedde.
35 Once have I sworn by my holiness, that I will not lie to David.
Nalayira omulundi gumu, ng’obutuukirivu bwange bwe buli, nti, “Dawudi sigenda kumulimba.”
36 His see shall endure for ever, and his throne as the sun before me;
Ezzadde lye teririggwaawo emirembe gyonna; n’entebe ye ey’obwakabaka enaabeerangawo emirembe gyonna okufaanana ng’enjuba.
37 and as the moon [that is] established for ever, and as the faithful witness in heaven. (Pause)
Entebe ye ey’obwakabaka erinywezebwa emirembe n’emirembe, ng’omwezi ku ggulu era nga ye mujulirwa wange omwesigwa.
38 But you have cast off and set at nothing, you has rejected your anointed.
Naye kaakano, gwe wafukako amafuta omusudde, omukyaye era omunyiigidde.
39 You have overthrown the covenant of your servant; you has profaned his sanctuary, [casting it] to the ground.
Endagaano gye wakola n’omuweereza wo wagimenyawo, n’engule ye n’ogisuula eri mu nfuufu.
40 You have broken down all his hedges; you have made his strong holds a terror.
Wamenyaamenya bbugwe we yenna, n’oggyawo n’ebigo bye.
41 All that go by the way have spoiled him: he is become a reproach to his neighbours.
Abatambuze baanyaga ebintu bye; n’afuuka ekisekererwa mu baliraanwa be.
42 You have exalted the right hand of his enemies; you have made all his enemies to rejoice.
Wayimusa omukono gw’abalabe be ogwa ddyo, n’osanyusa abalabe be bonna.
43 You have turned back the help of his sword, and have not helped him in the battle.
Wakyusa ekitala kye n’otomuyamba mu lutalo.
44 You have deprived him of glory: you have broken down his throne to the ground.
Ekitiibwa kye wakikomya; entebe ye ey’obwakabaka n’ogisuula wansi.
45 You have shortened the days of his throne: you have poured shame upon him. (Pause)
Ennaku z’obuvuka bwe wazisalako, n’omuswaza.
46 How long, O Lord, will you turn away, for ever? shall your anger flame out as fire?
Ayi Mukama, olyekweka ennaku zonna? Obusungu bwo obubuubuuka ng’omuliro bulikoma ddi?
47 Remember what my being is: for have you created all the sons of men in vain?
Jjukira ekiseera ky’obulamu bwange nga bwe kiri ekimpi. Wateganira bwereere okutonda abantu bonna!
48 What man is there who shall live, and not see death? shall [any one] deliver his soul from the hand of Hades? (Pause) (Sheol h7585)
Muntu ki omulamu atalifa, omuntu asobola okwewonya okufa n’awangula amaanyi g’emagombe? (Sheol h7585)
49 Where are your ancient mercies, O Lord, which you sware to David in your truth?
Ayi Mukama, okwagala kwo okw’edda okutaggwaawo, kwe walayirira Dawudi mu bwesigwa bwo, kuli luuyi wa?
50 Remember, O Lord, the reproach of your servants, which I have borne in my bosom, [even the reproach] of many nations;
Ayi Mukama, jjukira abaweereza bo nga basekererwa, engeri abantu ab’omu mawanga amangi, bwe banzitoowerera mu mutima nga banvuma;
51 wherewith your enemies have reviled, O Lord: wherewith they have reviled the recompense of your anointed.
abalabe bo banvuma, Ayi Mukama; ne bajerega oyo gwe wafukako amafuta, nga bamukijjanya buli gy’alaga.
52 Blessed be the Lord for ever. So be it, so be it.
Mukama atenderezebwenga emirembe gyonna!
