Psalms 81

1 For the end, a Psalm for Asaph, concerning the wine presses. Rejoice you in God our helper; shout aloud to the God of Jacob.

౧ప్రధాన సంగీతకారుని కోసం, గిత్తీతు రాగంతో పాడేది. ఆసాపు కీర్తన. మనకు బలం అయిన దేవునికి బిగ్గరగా పాడండి, యాకోబు దేవునికి ఉత్సాహంగా కేకలు వేయండి.

2 Take a psalm, and produce the timbrel, the pleasant lute with the harp.

౨పాట పాడి, కంజరి వాయించండి, మధురంగా తీగ వాయిద్యాలు వాయించండి.

3 Blow the trumpet at the new moon, in the glorious day of your feast.

౩అమావాస్య రోజు, మన పండగ మొదలయ్యే పౌర్ణమి రోజు కొమ్ము ఊదండి.

4 For [this] is an ordinance for Israel, and a statute of the God of Jacob.

౪అది ఇశ్రాయేలీయులకు చట్టం. యాకోబు దేవుడు నిర్ణయించిన కట్టడ.

5 He made it [to be] a testimony in Joseph, when he came forth out of the land of Egypt: he heard a language which he understood not.

౫ఆయన ఈజిప్టు దేశం మీదికి దండెత్తినప్పుడు యోసేపు సంతతికి దీన్ని శాసనంగా నియమించాడు. అక్కడ నేనెరగని భాష విన్నాను.

6 He removed his back from burdens: his hands slaved in making the baskets.

౬వారి భుజాల నుంచి నేను బరువు దించాను, వారి చేతులు మోతగంపలు మోయకుండా విడుదల పొందాయి.

7 You did call upon me in trouble, and I delivered you; I heard you in the secret place of the storm: I proved you at the water of Strife. (Pause)

౭నీ ఆపదలో నువ్వు మొరపెట్టావు. నేను నిన్ను విడిపించాను. ఉరిమే మబ్బుల్లోనుంచి నీకు జవాబిచ్చాను. మెరీబా నీళ్ళ దగ్గర నీకు పరీక్ష పెట్టాను. (సెలా)

8 Hear, my people, and I will speak to you, O Israel; and I will testify to you: if you will listen to me;

౮నా ప్రజలారా, వినండి. ఎందుకంటే నేను మిమ్మల్ని హెచ్చరిస్తాను. అయ్యో ఇశ్రాయేలూ, నువ్వు నా మాట వింటే ఎంత బాగుండేది!

9 there shall be no new god in you; neither shall you worship a strange god.

౯ఇతర దేవుళ్ళు ఎవరూ మీ మధ్య ఉండకూడదు, వేరే దేవుళ్ళలో ఎవరినీ నువ్వు పూజించకూడదు.

10 For I am the Lord your God, that brought you out of the land of Egypt: open your mouth wide, and I will fill it.

౧౦నేనే మీ దేవుణ్ణి, యెహోవాను. ఈజిప్టు దేశంనుంచి మిమ్మల్ని తెచ్చింది నేనే. నీ నోరు బాగా తెరువు. నేను దాన్ని నింపుతాను.

11 But my people listened not to my voice; and Israel gave no heed to me.

౧౧అయితే నా ప్రజలు నా మాట వినలేదు, ఇశ్రాయేలీయులు నాకు లోబడలేదు.

12 So I let them go after the ways of their own hearts: they will go on in their own ways.

౧౨కాబట్టి వాళ్ళు తమ సొంత ఉద్దేశాలను అనుసరించనిచ్చాను. వారి హృదయకాఠిన్యానికి నేను వారిని అప్పగించాను.

13 If my people had listened to me, if Israel had walked in my ways,

౧౩అయ్యో, నా ప్రజలు నా మాట వింటే ఎంత బాగుండేది! నా ప్రజలు నా విధానాలు అనుసరిస్తే ఎంత బాగుండేది!

14 I should have put down their enemies very quickly, and should have laid my hand upon those that afflicted them.

౧౪అప్పుడు నేను త్వరగా వారి శత్రువులను అణిచి వేసేవాణ్ణి. వాళ్ళను అణిచి వేసేవారి మీదికి నా చెయ్యి ఎత్తుతాను.

15 The Lord's enemies [should have] lied to him: but their time shall be for ever.

౧౫యెహోవాను ద్వేషించేవాళ్ళు ఆయనకు భయంతో వినయంగా ఆయన ఎదుట ప్రణమిల్లుతారు. వాళ్ళు శాశ్వతంగా అవమానానికి గురి అవుతారు గాక!

16 And he fed them with the fat of wheat; and satisfied them with honey out of the rock.

౧౬అతిశ్రేష్ఠమైన గోదుమలతో నేను ఇశ్రాయేలును పోషిస్తాను, కొండ తేనెతో నిన్ను తృప్తిపరుస్తాను.
