Psalms 8

1 For the end, concerning the wine presses, a Psalm of David. O Lord, our Lord, how wonderful is your name in all the earth! for your magnificence is exalted above the heavens.

Ho an’ ny mpiventy hira Al-hagitith. Salamo nataon’ i Davida. Jehovah, Tomponay ô, endrey ny voninahitry ny anaranao amin’ ny tany rehetra! nataonao eny amin’ ny lanitra ny voninahitrao.

2 Out of the mouth of babes and sucklings have you perfected praise, because of your enemies; that you might put down the enemy and avenger.

Avy amin’ ny vavan’ ny ankizy madinika sy ny minono no nanorenanao hery noho ny mpandrafy Anao, mba hampanginanao ny fahavalo sy izay ta-hamaly ratsy.

3 For I will regard the heavens, the work of your fingers; the moon and stars, which you have established.

Raha jereko ny lanitrao, izay asan’ ny rantsan-tananao, sy ny volana aman-kintana, izay noforoninao,

4 What is man, that you are mindful of him? or the son of man, that you visit him?

Inona moa ny olona, no ahatsiarovanao azy? Ary ny zanak’ olombelona, no amangianao azy?

5 You made him a little less than angels, you have crowned him with glory and honour;

Fa efa nataonao ambany kely noho Andriamanitra izy, ary efa nosatrohanao voninahitra sy fiandrianana.

6 and you have set him over the works of your hands: you have put all things under his feet:

Efa nampanjakainao amin’ ny asan’ ny tananao izy; ny zavatra rehetra dia efa nataonao eo ambanin’ ny tongony,

7 sheep and all oxen, yes and the cattle of the field;

Dia ny ondry aman’ osy sy ny omby rehetra, ary ny bibidia koa,

8 the birds of the sky, and the fish of the sea, the [creatures] passing through the paths of the sea.

Mbamin’ ny voro-manidina sy ny hazandrano any an-dranomasina, izay mandeha amin’ ny lalan-dranomasina.

9 O Lord our Lord, how wonderful is your name in all the earth!

Jehovah Tomponay ô, endrey ny voninahitry ny anaranao amin’ ny tany rehetra!
