Psalms 73
1 A Psalm for Asaph. How good is God to Israel, to the upright in heart!
Verdadeiramente bom é Deus para com Israel, para com os limpos de coração.
2 But my feet were almost overthrown; my goings very nearly slipped.
Enquanto a mim, os meus pés quase que se desviaram; pouco faltou para que escorregassem os meus passos.
3 For I was jealous of the transgressors, beholding the tranquillity of sinners.
Pois eu tinha inveja dos loucos, quando via a prosperidade dos ímpios.
4 For there is no sign of reluctance in their death: and [they have] firmness under their affliction.
Porque não há apertos na sua morte, mas firme está a sua força.
5 They are not in the troubles of [other] men; and they shall not be scourged with [other] men.
Não se acham em trabalhos como outra gente, nem são aflitos como outros homens.
6 Therefore pride has possessed them; they have clothed themselves with their injustice and ungodliness.
Pelo que a soberba os cerca como um colar; vestem-se de violência como de adorno.
7 Their injustice shall go forth as out of fatness: they have fulfilled their intention.
Os olhos deles estão inchados de gordura: eles tem mais do que o coração podia desejar.
8 They have taken counsel and spoken in wickedness: they have uttered unrighteousness loftily.
São corrompidos e tratam maliciosamente de opressão; falam arrogantemente.
9 They have set their mouth against heaven, and their tongue has gone through upon the earth.
Põem as suas bocas contra os céus, e as suas línguas andam pela terra.
10 Therefore shall my people return hither: and full days shall be found with them.
Pelo que o seu povo volta aqui, e águas de copo cheio se lhes espremem.
11 And they said, How does God know? and is there knowledge in the Most High?
E dizem: Como o sabe Deus? ou há conhecimento no altíssimo?
12 Behold, these [are] the sinners, and they that prosper always: they have possessed wealth.
Eis que estes são ímpios, e prosperam no mundo; aumentam em riquezas.
13 And I said, Verily in vain have I justified my heart, and washed my hands in innocency.
Na verdade que em vão tenho purificado o meu coração; e lavei as minhas mãos na inocência.
14 For I was plagued all the day, and my reproof [was] every morning.
Pois todo o dia tenho sido aflito, e castigado cada manhã.
15 If I said, I will speak thus; behold, I [should] have broken covenant with the generation of your children.
Se eu dissesse: falarei assim; eis que ofenderia a geração de teus filhos.
16 And I undertook to understand this, [but] it is too hard for me,
Quando pensava em entender isto foi para mim muito doloroso;
17 until I go into the sanctuary of God; [and so] understand the latter end.
Até que entrei no santuário de Deus: então entendi eu o fim deles.
18 Surely you have appointed [judgements] to them because of their crafty dealings: you have cast them down when they were lifted up.
Certamente tu os puseste em lugares escorregadios: tu os lanças em destruição.
19 How have they become desolate! suddenly they have failed: they have perished because of their iniquity.
Como caem na desolação, quase num momento! ficam totalmente consumidos de terrores.
20 As the dream of one awakening, O Lord, in your city you will despise their image.
Como um sonho, quando se acorda, assim, ó Senhor, quando acordares, desprezarás a aparência deles.
21 For my heart has rejoiced, and my reins have been gladdened.
Assim o meu coração se azedou, e sinto picadas nos meus rins.
22 But I [was] vile and knew not: I became brutish before you.
Assim me embruteci, e nada sabia; fiquei como uma besta perante ti.
23 Yet I am continually with you: you have holden my right hand.
Todavia estou de contínuo contigo; tu me sustentaste pela minha mão direita.
24 You have guided me by your counsel, and you have taken me to yourself with glory.
Guiar-me-ás com o teu conselho, e depois me receberás em glória.
25 For what have I in heaven [but you]? and what have I desired upon the earth beside you?
Quem tenho eu no céu senão a ti? e na terra não há a quem eu deseje além de ti.
26 My heart and my flesh have failed: [but] God [is the strength] of my heart, and God is my portion for ever.
A minha carne e o meu coração desfalecem; mas Deus é a fortaleza do meu coração, e a minha porção para sempre
27 For, behold, they that remove themselves far from you shall perish: you have destroyed every one that goes a whoring from you.
Pois eis que os que se alongam de ti, perecerão; tu tens destruído todos aqueles que se desviam de ti.
28 But it is good for me to cleave close to God, to put my trust in the Lord; that I may proclaim all your praises in the gates of the daughter of Sion.
Mas para mim, bom é aproximar-me de Deus; pus a minha confiança no Senhor Deus, para anunciar todas as tuas obras.
