Psalms 55
1 For the end, amongst Hymns of instruction by David. Listen, O God, to my prayer; and disregard not my supplication.
Para el músico jefe. Sobre los instrumentos de cuerda. Una contemplación de David. Escucha mi oración, Dios. No te escondas de mi súplica.
2 Attend to me, and listen to me: I was grieved in my (meditation) and troubled;
Atiéndeme y respóndeme. Estoy inquieto en mi queja, y gime
3 because of the voice of the enemy, and because of the oppression of the sinner: for they brought iniquity against me, and were wrathfully angry with me.
por la voz del enemigo, a causa de la opresión de los malvados. Porque me hacen sufrir. Con rabia me guardan rencor.
4 My heart was troubled within me; and the fear of death fell upon me.
Mi corazón está gravemente dolorido en mi interior. Los terrores de la muerte han caído sobre mí.
5 Fear and trembling came upon me, and darkness covered me.
El temor y el temblor se han apoderado de mí. El horror me ha abrumado.
6 And I said, O that I had wings as [those] of a dove! then would I flee away, and be at rest.
Dije: “¡Oh, si tuviera alas como una paloma! Entonces volaría y descansaría.
7 Behold! I have fled afar off, and lodged in the wilderness. (Pause)
He aquí que entonces me alejaría. Me alojaría en el desierto”. (Selah)
8 I waited for him that should deliver me from distress of spirit and tempest.
“Me apresuraría a refugiarme del viento tempestuoso y de la tormenta”.
9 Destroy, O Lord, and divide their tongues: for I have seen iniquity and gain saying in the city.
Confúndelos, Señor, y confunde su lenguaje, porque he visto violencia y lucha en la ciudad.
10 Day and night he shall go round about it upon its walls: iniquity and sorrow and unrighteousness [are] in the midst of it;
Día y noche merodean por sus muros. La malicia y el abuso también están en ella.
11 and usury and craft have not failed from its streets.
Las fuerzas destructivas están dentro de ella. Las amenazas y las mentiras no salen de sus calles.
12 For if an enemy had reproached me, I would have endured it; and if one who hated [me] had spoken vauntingly against me, I would have hid myself from him.
Porque no fue un enemigo quien me insultó, entonces podría haberlo soportado. Tampoco el que me odiaba se levantó contra mí, entonces me habría escondido de él.
13 But you, O man like minded, my guide, and my acquaintance,
Pero fuiste tú, un hombre como yo, mi compañero, y mi amigo familiar.
14 who in companionship with me sweetened [our] food: we walked in the house of God in concord.
Tomamos juntos una dulce comunión. Caminamos en la casa de Dios con compañía.
15 Let death come upon them, and let them go down alive into Hades, for iniquity is in their dwellings, in the midst of them. (Sheol h7585)
Que la muerte les llegue de repente. Que bajen vivos al Seol. Porque la maldad está entre ellos, en su morada. (Sheol h7585)
16 I cried to God, and the Lord listened to me.
En cuanto a mí, invocaré a Dios. Yahvé me salvará.
17 Evening, and morning, and at noon I will declare and make known [my wants]: and he shall hear my voice.
Por la tarde, por la mañana y al mediodía, gritaré de angustia. Escuchará mi voz.
18 He shall deliver my soul in peace from them that draw near to me: for they were with me in many [cases].
Él ha redimido mi alma en paz de la batalla que había contra mí, aunque hay muchos que se oponen a mí.
19 God shall hear, and bring them low, [even] he that has existed from eternity. (Pause) For they suffer no reverse, and [therefore] they have not feared God.
Dios, que está entronizado para siempre, los escuchará y responderá. (Selah) Nunca cambian y no teman a Dios.
20 He has reached forth his hand for retribution; they have profaned his covenant.
Levanta las manos contra sus amigos. Ha violado su pacto.
21 They were scattered at the anger of his countenance, and his heart drew near them. His words were smoother than oil, yet are they darts.
Su boca era suave como la mantequilla, pero su corazón estaba en guerra. Sus palabras eran más suaves que el aceite, sin embargo, eran espadas desenvainadas.
22 Cast your care upon the Lord, and he shall sustain you; he shall never suffer the righteous to be moved.
Echa tu carga sobre Yahvé y él te sostendrá. Él nunca permitirá que los justos sean conmovidos.
23 But you, O God, shall bring them down to the pit of destruction; bloody and crafty men shall not live out half their days; but I will hope in you, O Lord.
Pero tú, Dios, los harás descender al pozo de la destrucción. Los hombres sanguinarios y engañosos no vivirán ni la mitad de sus días, pero confiaré en ti.
