Psalms 50
1 A Psalm for Asaph. The God of gods, the Lord, has spoken, and called the earth from the rising of the sun to the going down [thereof].
Psaume d'Asaph Le [Dieu] Fort, le Dieu, l'Eternel a parlé, et il a appelé toute la terre, depuis le soleil levant jusques au soleil couchant.
2 Out of Sion [comes] the excellence of his beauty.
Dieu a fait luire sa splendeur de Sion, qui est d'une beauté parfaite.
3 God, our God, shall come manifestly, and shall not keep silence: a fire shall be kindled before him, and round about him there shall be a very great tempest.
Notre Dieu viendra, il ne se taira point: il y aura devant lui un feu dévorant, et tout autour de lui une grosse tempête.
4 He shall summon the heaven above, and the earth, that he may judge his people.
Il appellera les cieux d'en haut, et la terre, pour juger son peuple, [en disant]:
5 Assemble you his saints to him, those that have engaged in a covenant with him upon sacrifices.
Assemblez-moi mes bien-aimés qui ont traité alliance avec moi sur le sacrifice.
6 And the heavens shall declare his righteousness: for God is judge. (Pause)
Les cieux aussi annonceront sa justice: parce que Dieu est le juge; (Sélah)
7 Hear, my people, and I will speak to you, O Israel: and I will testify to you: I am God, your God.
Ecoute, ô mon peuple, et je parlerai; [entends], Israël, et je te sommerai; je suis Dieu, ton Dieu, moi.
8 I will not reprove you on account of your sacrifices; for your whole burnt offerings are before me continually.
Je ne te reprendrai point pour tes sacrifices, ni pour tes holocaustes, qui ont été continuellement devant moi.
9 I will take no bullocks out of your house, nor he-goats out of your flocks.
Je ne prendrai point de veau de ta maison, ni de boucs de tes parcs.
10 For all the wild beasts of the thicket are mine, the cattle on the mountains, and oxen.
Car toute bête de la forêt est à moi, [et] les bêtes aussi qui paissent en mille montagnes.
11 I know all the birds of the sky; and the beauty of the field is mine.
Je connais tous les oiseaux des montagnes; et toute sorte de bêtes des champs est à mon commandement.
12 If I should be hungry, I will not tell you: for the world is mine, and the fullness of it.
Si j'avais faim, je ne t'en dirais rien; car la terre habitable est à moi, et tout ce qui est en elle.
13 Will I eat the flesh of bulls, or drink the blood of goats?
Mangerais-je la chair des gros taureaux? et boirais-je le sang des boucs?
14 Offer to God the sacrifice of praise; and pay your vows to the Most High.
Sacrifie louange à Dieu, et rends tes vœux au Souverain.
15 And call upon me in the day of affliction; and I will deliver you, and you shall glorify me. (Pause)
Et invoque-moi au jour de ta détresse, je t'en tirerai hors, et tu me glorifieras.
16 But to the sinner God has said, Why do you declare my ordinances, and take up my covenant in your mouth?
Mais Dieu a dit au méchant: qu'as-tu que faire de réciter mes statuts, et de prendre mon alliance en ta bouche;
17 Whereas you have hated instruction, and have cast my words behind [you].
Vu que tu hais la correction, et que tu as jeté mes paroles derrière toi?
18 If you saw a thief, you ran along with him, and have cast in your lot with adulterers.
Si tu vois un larron, tu cours avec lui; et ta portion est avec les adultères.
19 Your mouth has multiplied wickedness, and your tongue has framed deceit.
Tu lâches ta bouche au mal, et par ta langue tu trames la fraude;
20 You did sit and speak against your brother, and did scandalize your mother's son.
Tu t'assieds [et] parles contre ton frère, [et] tu couvres d'opprobre le fils de ta mère.
21 These things you did, and I kept silence: you thought wickedly that I should be like you, [but] I will reprove you, and set [your offences] before you.
Tu as fait ces choses-là, et je m'en suis tu; [et] tu as estimé que véritablement je fusse comme toi; [mais] je t'en reprendrai, et je déduirai [le tout] par ordre en ta présence.
22 Now consider these things, you that forget God, lest he rend [you], and there is no deliverer.
Entendez cela maintenant, vous qui oubliez Dieu; de peur que je ne vous ravisse, et qu'il n'y ait personne qui vous délivre.
23 The sacrifice of praise will glorify me: and that is the way wherein I will show to him the salvation of God.
Celui qui sacrifie la louange me glorifiera; et à celui qui prend garde à sa voie, je montrerai la délivrance de Dieu.
