< Psalms 49 >

1 For the end, a Psalm for the sons of Core. Hear these words, all you nations, listen, all you that dwell upon the earth:
Pou chèf sanba yo. Se yon sòm pitit Kore yo. Nou tout, koute sa byen. Louvri zòrèy nou, nou menm k'ap viv toupatou sou latè,
2 both the sons of mean men, and sons of [great] men; the rich and poor [man] together.
gran kou piti, rich kou pòv.
3 My mouth shall speak of wisdom; and the meditation of my heart shall bring [forth] understanding.
Mwen pral ban nou bon konsèy. Sa ki nan kè m' se bagay ki gen sans.
4 I will incline mine ear to a parable: I will open my riddle on the harp.
M'ap louvri zòrèy mwen pou m' tande parabòl la. Mwen pral esplike l' ban nou antan m'ap jwe mizik.
5 Therefore should I fear in the evil day? the iniquity of my heel shall compass me.
Poukisa pou m' ta pè, lè jou malè a rive, lè moun ki pa vle wè m' yo sènen m' toupatou ak move lide nan tèt yo?
6 They that trust in their strength, and boast themselves in the multitude of their wealth—
Moun ki mete konfyans yo nan byen latè, moun k'ap fè grandizè pou richès yo genyen,
7 A brother does not redeem, shall a man redeem? he shall not give to God a ransom for himself,
pa gen yonn ladan yo ki ka bay senk kòb pou delivre frè yo, ni ki ka peye Bondye pou l' delivre yo.
8 or the price of the redemption of his soul, though he labour for ever,
Yo ta mèt pare pou yo bay anpil lajan pou sove lavi pa yo, sa p'ap janm rive fèt.
9 and live to the end, [so] that he should not see corruption.
Atò, se pou yo ta viv tout tan san yo pa janm al anba tè?
10 When he shall see wise men dying, the fool and the senseless one shall perish together; and they shall leave their wealth to strangers.
Men, nou wè moun ki gen bon konprann yo mouri, yo disparèt menm jan ak moun sòt ansanm ak moun egare yo. Yo kite tout richès yo pou lòt moun.
11 And their sepulchres are their houses for ever, [even] their tabernacles to all generations: they have called their lands after their own names.
Se nan simityè yo pral bout, se nan tonm yo pral rete, menm si yo gen gwo bitasyon ki pote non yo.
12 And man being in honour, understands not: he is compared to the senseless cattle, and is like to them.
Yon moun te mèt grannèg kou l' grannèg li gen pou l' mouri. Li tankou zannimo y'ap mennen labatwa.
13 This their way is an offence to them: yet afterwards men will commend their sayings. (Pause)
Se konsa y'ap fini, moun ki mete konfyans yo nan pwòp tèt yo. Se sa ki gen pou rive moun k'ap koute pawòl yo tou.
14 They have laid [them] as sheep in Hades; death shall feed on them; and the upright shall have dominion over them in the morning, and their help shall fail in Hades from their glory. (Sheol h7585)
(Sheol h7585)
15 But God shall deliver my soul from the power of Hades, when he shall receive me. (Pause) (Sheol h7585)
Men, Bondye ap delivre mwen, l'ap wete m' anba pouvwa lanmò. (Sheol h7585)
16 Fear not when a man is enriched, and when the glory of his house is increased.
Ou pa bezwen pè lè ou wè yon moun ap vin pi rich, lè ou wè l'ap mete richès pil sou pil lakay li.
17 For he shall take nothing when he dies; neither shall his glory descend with him.
Lè l' mouri, li p'ap pote anyen ale avèk li, l'ap kite tout richès li yo dèyè.
18 For his soul shall be blessed in his life: he shall give thanks to you when you do well to him.
Li te mèt kontan jan l' t'ap viv la, yo te mèt ap fè lwanj li pou jan afè l' ap mache byen,
19 [Yet] he shall go in to the generation of his fathers; he shall never see light.
yon lè, li gen pou l' mouri tankou zansèt li yo ki p'ap janm wè limyè ankò.
20 Man that is in honour, understands not: he is compared to the senseless cattle, and is like them.
Yon moun te mèt grannèg kou l' grannèg, si li pa gen konprann, li tankou zannimo y'ap mennen labatwa.
