< Psalms 43 >
1 A Psalm of David. Judge me, O God, and plead my cause, against an ungodly nation: deliver me from the unjust and crafty man.
Psalmus David. Iudica me Deus, et discerne causam meam de gente non sancta, ab homine iniquo, et doloso erue me.
2 For you, O God, are my strength: therefore have you cast me off? and why do I go sad of countenance, while the enemy oppresses [me]?
Quia tu es Deus fortitudo mea: quare me repulisti? et quare tristis incedo, dum affligit me inimicus?
3 Send forth your light and your truth: they have led me, and brought me to your holy mountain, and to your tabernacles.
Emitte lucem tuam et veritatem tuam: ipsa me deduxerunt, et adduxerunt in montem sanctum tuum, et in tabernacula tua.
4 And I will go in to the altar of God, to God who gladdens my youth: I will give thanks to you on the harp, O God, my God.
Et introibo ad altare Dei: ad Deum, qui lætificat iuventutem meam. Confitebor tibi in cithara Deus, Deus meus:
5 Therefore are you very sad, O my soul? and therefore do you trouble me? Hope in God; for I will give thanks to him, [who is] the health of my countenance, [and] my God.
quare tristis es anima mea? et quare conturbas me? Spera in Deo, quoniam adhuc confitebor illi: salutare vultus mei, et Deus meus.
